Amazing plant - rose hipsA thorny, brown-barked shrub from the Rosaceae family. Up to two meters high. Leaves are petiolate, sharp-serrated; flowers are large, bright pink, fragrant; fruits are spherical or oblong. Red or orange, 10-15 mm in size, containing angular yellow seeds with white hairs.

Botanists have more than 50 species of rose hips and a large number of their varieties. In Russia, it is found almost everywhere.

Rose water reached the Slavic lands. The families of the Kiev princes began to use it for the first toilet of newborn babies, then as a female cosmetic for the premature appearance of wrinkles on the face, neck, hands, and then as a reliable medicine for all kinds of diseases of the mucous membranes and skin in the form of rubbing, washing, rinsing, douching, baths, lotions, etc.

It is nice in late spring to see bright pink lights of blooming rose hips in the garden or front garden ...This means that modern Nefertiti rules here - a wise and beautiful woman, for whom a few dozen flowers will be enough to have rose water until next summer.
