Essential oils and their mixturesThe best cosmetics for mature skin contain natural essential oils. They have regenerative properties and support the metabolism. The essential oil is easily absorbed as its structure is compatible with our cells. You can create a blend of oils to suit your skin type using simple formulas.

The base of the mixture is almost always cold-pressed seed or nut oil.

Additives can be:

• Avocado oil is a moisturizing, nourishing agent that is typically 20% of the mixture.

• Apricot kernel oil - a remedy for dry or irritated skin. It can also be used separately.

• Borage oil, which is added in small amounts (about 10%) to reduce inflammation. It nourishes the skin with essential nutrients and essential fatty acids. Borage can be replaced with primrose oil, only in this case the amount should be slightly higher (about 25%).

• Hazelnut oil is one of the most common oils that has astringent properties and is suitable for oily skin.

• Rosehip oil is one of the main essential oils. It combines many healing properties, including the ability to renew skin cells without flaking.

• Carrot seed oil, called the "warmest and earthy" oil. It acts in a special way on tired and dull skin, giving it a radiance. Carrot oil is a very gentle and inexpensive product suitable for all skin types.

• Rosemary oil, which improves skin regeneration and promotes the elimination of toxins at the cellular level.

Sage oilcontaining phytohormones and maintaining an optimal balance of the skin, making it neither too dry nor too oily. In addition, this oil relaxes the skin, preventing the appearance of new wrinkles. It contains sclareol, which acts on the body in the same way as estrogen.

Essential oils and their mixtures Fennel oil is another type of "estrogenic" essential oil that is suitable for all ages.

• Cold pressed sea buckthorn berry oil is very delicate, with a pleasant sweet aroma. Sea buckthorn contains a significant amount of fatty acids and vitamins A, E and C. They rejuvenate and soften the skin. Sea buckthorn oil is especially effective against wrinkles.

• Rose oil, which is made from plants grown in hot, sunny regions. It strengthens the skin, has astringent properties and is good at cleansing oil. If you are making a blend of essential oils to treat the sensitive eye area, remember to keep the amount of rose oil below 0.5% to avoid irritation.

• Narrow-leaved lavender oil is a kind of breakthrough in cosmetology. When the miraculous healing power of this oil was discovered, it was used as a skin repairing agent. They add it in any concentration. It has a sweet floral scent.

• If you don't like sweet smells, you can use immortelle oil. This oil has the same powerful regenerating properties as lavender oil, but its scent is more subdued. It is so gentle that it can be applied to the skin on its own without mixing with anything.

These oils are mainly used in mixtures intended for women, but this does not mean that men cannot use them. There are purely masculine scents like sandalwood, incense and myrrh. The pleasant smell of essential oils has a positive effect on the emotional state of both men and women, and this has a beneficial effect on the skin.

There are oils that cannot be used for facial care, such as cinnamon, oregano, clove, and thyme oil.Cold-pressed oil from citrus fruits (lime, lemon, orange) and bergamot makes the skin very sensitive to ultraviolet rays.

The formulas for mixing essential oils are pretty simple. If you have 120 g of base base, you can add 40 drops of the oil suitable for your skin type, then 10 drops of other oils if you are making a complex mixture. Just remember that many oils work best at low concentrations. Therefore, when in doubt, it is better to use less oil, as high doses sometimes cause irritation. In complex mixtures, try not to exceed the 5% limit for each type of oil of the total mixture.

Here's a great formula for making a simple oil blend at home: 70% apricot kernel oils, 15% rosehip oil and 15% evening primrose. For dry skin, add 20% avocado oil, reducing the apricot oil. For oily skin, you need to completely replace apricot kernel oil with nut oil.

To work, you can take equal amounts of oil and adjust during the mixing process according to your preference. You may want to reduce the addition of powerful scented oils. Anyway, you can create a blend formula to your liking, which will not only keep your skin healthy, but also have a pleasant scent.
