I brought the promised report on the use of my TNS 3000 grater. As they say, our honeymoon has long passed, but the love remained. :-)
I still mastered the fruit holder as a lemon squeezer and it really turned out to be damn convenient. I see no reason to start a special apparatus for the sake of squeezing out one or two citruses a week, but as an additional function of a part of the grater, it is very helpful, well done creators!
Cabbage, that's the main thing for which I needed a good grater and here all my expectations were more than justified: for cabbage soup-borscht-stewing, long straws of any thickness from 0.5 mm and higher are obtained, for salads, shred short straws using transverse knives with in 12 mm increments, crumble for minced meat by 6 or 3 mm. I like this process the most - one zip and cabbage in the dust, before I had to knock on the board with a knife much longer.
The bow is also a song! Rings, half rings, quarter rings or straws of any thickness from 0.5 to 8 mm, 6 by 6 cube for frying and super-fine 3 by 3 mm for minced meat.
Previously, I grated carrots for pilaf on a regular grater, but now, cut into large strips on tns-ke, it looks different and even tastes a little different. The pilaf turns out to be almost authentic (almost, patamushta without a lamb), the size of the carrots is 6 by 6 or 6 by 8 mm. For pilaf, I take on average kg of onions and kg of carrots, and now it takes me only a few minutes to cut a whole bowl of vegetables. And also cubes, I liked the carrots in a flat cube or rhombus fried with sides of 6 mm at a thickness of 3. And I cut vegetables for stews (potatoes, zucchini, eggplants) into cubes, but at a maximum of 12 x 12 x 8. Also a big time saving, handles I shred it all much longer.
Even with this grater, I began to make potato chips. At the smallest thickness, I dissolve a large potato into many, many thinnest slices, quickly dry them on a towel and fry them in heated oil in a non-stick saucepan. It turns out very tasty, my son checked it out. :-)
The cheese is also decently cut into thin slices. Hard cheeses, like beetroot and pumpkin, are more difficult of course. There are no problems with the rest of the fruits and vegetables, especially when you get your hands on it, but with a good skill you can also swing at cutting "spaghetti" (I am just starting to master them).

Someone in the subject wrote that this grater does not cut through the straw to the end, but earlier Lena with the fffuntik, with her usual meticulousness, has already explained why this happens. In short, it is the user's crooked handles that are to blame, and not the jamb of the grater design.
What else I remember, then I will add, until the tablet itself deleted my scribble without warning. He's unpredictable and too independent. :-)

I can not. Where can I see Lena's explanations? I rarely use a grater. True, I'm afraid of her now, I erased half a finger on it. But now I bought kevlar gloves and sometimes use them, but only as a slicer, because the straw does not cut through
Crown
kirch, the straw may not cut through if the comb screw is not fully pushed in. It also happens that if you press hard on the surface of the grater, then the movable platform, due to the design features, sinks below the level of the main knife, then there will also be an undercut. You just need to apply force parallel to the surface of the float, not at an angle to it.
kirch
Crown, Thank you. I'll try tomorrow

Good luck!

In short, it's the user's crooked handles to blame
I don't even know directly how to relate to this conclusion. With more than thirty years of experience using Berner, where the principle of operation is exactly the same - applying force parallel to the plane - and find out that I have curved handles! What a grief ...
Crown
I remembered what else I wanted to write - I am glad that knives for this grater can be ordered separately and replaced independently.
I strain mine to the fullest, crushing the dogs "salads" from cabbage stubs and other vegetable coarseness, so if suddenly the knives become blunt, jagged or bent, then I can easily change them.
fffuntic
Girls, Berner does not have such a problem, there the protrusions are strictly fixed so that the depth of the cuts with the protrusions on the strips for the vegetable strictly corresponds to the depth of the cut of the slicer knife.
Therefore, first the vegetable is cut to the desired depth into strips, and then it is cut as a slice and the thickness of the slice does not exceed the depth of the cuts with the protrusions.
But for vegetable cutters with movable protrusions and separate placement of protrusions on one part, and a slicer knife on the other - these parts can shift in height relative to each other (the protrusions cut the vegetable to an insufficient depth, the slice knife cuts deeper cuts into strips due to pressure on the moving part of the platform or under-fixation of the teeth - you will get under-cut strips) and depend on uniform pressure on both parts when rubbing.
That is, if directly, by and large: then the design of the grater is to blame, it requires you to adjust to it. This is the price to pay for the very flexible setting of the slice thickness.
CrownGalina meant just something different from what everyone understood. That a grater of this movable type requires special adaptation to it. If it doesn’t work out, then it’s not she that bad, but stupidly there was no common language.

shl. To each his own. Someone has a burner or TNS, and someone like me - an alligator and again an alligator for carrots and for onions and all kinds of stews, although now for salads and all kinds of baked goods - the spiralizer drives, except for thin cabbage salads - there is exclusively a giant ... Perfect quick cabbage shavings for me and dirt the least.
If there is a lot for workpieces - electric shock or film.

I don’t want anything spicy and there it’s whack-whack. I do such feats only on a mechanical spiralizer, and even then, because the elektrobella is too difficult to order. But somehow I will solve this issue in the electrical direction)))

If it doesn’t work out, then it’s not she that bad, but stupidly there was no common language.
fffuntic, Lenochka, and the reason for the presence of blunt metal plates on it instead of knives also lies in the absence of a common language with it? They are disgusting - frankly stupid, absolutely not sharpened! And the effort for the cut is required many times more than on the Berner! And the slicer knife itself is good, with that I absolutely agree.
fffuntic
I don't have a TNS, almost the same from decks with retractable plates and a movable part with a knife.
The pieces of iron there are all normally tough and stupid in my piece, but of course it is simply incorrect to compare with a burner. All sliding plates are strongly inferior in rigidity and sharpness.
Also
1. My knife sits very low. Disgusting to pull out thin shavings from under the grater. Not .. well, of course, you can also use dances with a tambourine there in the form of doptaziks - but I don't like that.
I had a fake burner - even there)))) the knife is higher and more convenient. I did not look at TNS.
2. In terms of thin chips, now I like the knife more serrated, that is, a giant. For me it tastes better. I’m silent that a giant can conveniently rub cabbage without unnecessary lumps. Therefore, even the high quality of thin slices with an ordinary knife already not I like it anyway on what other grater with an ordinary knife.
And Bosch makes ordinary slices very well and quickly.
Any straw is faster on an alligator than burning-burning with vegetables itself. It tastes the same. But the difference is really felt in the spiralizer.
I really resisted in terms of the spiralizer and I don't like my mechanical one in terms of working with pens. But in reality, shavings for the same Korean carrots, zucchini shavings are wonderful.
Crown, Galina, in terms of stumps, I agree with the girls. You put in a lot of effort, you just don't even know about it.
Maybe for such work, still look towards the electro?
And the fact that all cutting parts of the Burner are steeper than THS, decock and others can be seen with the naked eye. Slicing will be easier a priori for tough vegetables. Although for me, for large volumes, let only electro work
dopleta
Quote: fffuntic
keep quiet that a giant can be comfortable
Yes, and the Giant is also better than TNS. And the fact that I praised the slicer knife does not mean that it is better than others - I also have many different devices for slicing, no worse. So TNS is in the last place on the list, except perhaps before the most common graters, which I also have not used for a long time. And although I got TNS very inexpensively (I bought it on Amazon), it is not worth that little money either.
Anna1957
And I a priori trust Larisa - I have already been convinced many times of her correctness and our amazing coincidence of opinions
fffuntic
Everything is relative.
I cut with a blunt nyser and was happy until I got to know the alligator. It was like a revelation.
I tried berner and realized that my spicy))) decock did not lie next to it by ease slicing.
BUT Burner does not have such a flexible setting for very transparent slices.
Decock in transparent shavings suited me until I knew the Giant.

Now I am sick with a perfect electric spiralizer. I dream of such that even thin shavings (in a salad, serve me carrots for a maximum of 1 mm, but I have not found this anywhere, except for mechanics) could make thick ones. These shavings will be good for soup, salad, and canning.

The man is delighted with the toy and sincerely and very emotionally shared this delight
It's one thing to share, and it's another to insist on a long and aggressive enough basis, considering your opinion to be the only correct one.

fffuntic
Before

I also insisted that I really liked it and even bought toys and forcibly shoved them to my friends and relatives.
And my ardor was cooled off quite early enough. The same alligator I'm dragging from didn't go to my aunt. In general, such units, where it is necessary to make an effort, do not go to her - a sore back.
My favorite Boshik didn't go to her. Hard going. But the man is still delighted with the film and that's it !!! suits and does not find fault with the quality of cutting, which does not suit me after Boshik.
The best sharp graters are hard for me - I constantly cut myself, don't talk about gloves and holders. There are "gifted" people like me who cannot work with them.
A friend did not appreciate the spiralizer. Well, what ... he says. To her large !!! cubes are getting better.

In general, everything is complicated. One can only try to objectively show the advantages and disadvantages. But each of us will determine the degree of applicability for himself.

Quite right! At first I also mowed, even managed to scratch the blades with a fruit holder, I had to turn on my head, sort it out and correct my curvature.
As they say, there is nothing to blame on the mirror ...

Regarding the fact that I don’t guess something, you’re wrong here, because it’s hard not to notice that harder products are harder to cut, I immediately wrote:

Today I received my own graters for Korean carrots. While reading the topic, I saw that there are native Korean graters and they were praised at work, I looked and found a site that sells Korean goods. They have 3 types of graters on their website:
1 - white grater, on one side rubs carrots, on the other you can make potato pancakes (250 rubles)Vegetable graters and shredders, kevlar gloves
2- pink grater with an insert plate, which adjusts the thickness of the cut (250 rubles)Vegetable graters and shredders, kevlar gloves,
3- pink grater with adjustable slicing thickness (400 rubles).
I bought on the site Real Korea dot ru. (Realkokey)
Svetlana62
Marpl, Marina, congratulations on your purchase! Did you like your work?
Marpl
Svetlana, yes, comfortable graters. Their cutting knives are located at an angle to the base, while Berner's knives are parallel and sometimes clogged. Comfortable ergonomic handle and the carrot slices themselves are slightly thicker than in Berner. And in pink there is an insert that reduces the thickness of the slices. I will insert the photo later, since it is not possible with the new bodies yet.
Svetlana62
Marpl, Marina, I have this:
Vegetable graters and shredders, kevlar gloves
Anechka Fifanya from Vladivostok sent me, I really like it. It is interesting to look at the pink grater, in which the cutting thickness varies. The grater with an insert is similar to the Borner combichipser. And what is its straw width? I will wait for the photo.
Marpl
Svetlana, but almost the same, but they made another mashed potatoes in her. Here it is and all 3 graters for carrots.Vegetable graters and shredders, kevlar gloves
Vegetable graters and shredders, kevlar gloves
But a pink grater with an insert, insert thickness 2mm, that is, the carrot will be half as thin. There was a similar grater in the store, but without an insert, and the thickness was adjusted on the reverse side, and its price was 400 rubles.Vegetable graters and shredders, kevlar gloves
This store has several stores, including one in Vladivostok.

You can potatoes, but only with your hands, since it will fall apart on the pins of the fruit holder, you can also hold the sausage in your hands, and if it is plump, it will work out, and if it is soft, then it is problematic. The food should be well cooled.
I didn't even try the eggs, usually I use them with a fork, brim-brim and truncated.
