  • The jam is preparing, a strange trick: I put only two glasses of sugar and 1 teaspoon of ginger on a full bowl to the eyeballs, and it turns out very sweet. Along the way, I make jam and kvass in the multi mode, extinguishing without a valve. What I like about it - I have never stirred the jam, although it is convenient to stir in the MDV - the bowl is heavy, you can open the lid with one hand and stir with the other. But I'm doing a pure experiment.
  • The result is received.
  • You can make jam in a slow cooker without stirring, which is so nice, without a sticky spoon, without a plate for a sticky spoon, which, whatever one may say, saves space on the table.

The difference in color is visible, in a slow cooker it turned out more transparent, the apples are the same, the proportion of sugar is different: in MDV it is several times less, the taste is practically the same. The same camera, the same shooting conditions, the time interval is 2 seconds.
  • The recipe is simple: I chopped apples until I filled a bowl to the eyeballs, cut them in a food processor.
  • I chop the apples, sprinkle sugar in a not thick layer, again chop and again a layer of sugar on the eye, I didn't want to interfere at all, so this is not a technique, but an experiment that I will now take into account for the future - you can be lazy and you can not interfere. Having chopped a full bowl, I washed it down with a spoon (out of greed) and chopped it up to the eyeballs, a millimeter did not reach the glass of the lid. The whole bowl took two and a half glasses of sugar, 1 teaspoon of ginger. I love him. I set it to 6 o'clock by default. And I went to sleep, the timer turned off the slow cooker after 6 hours, in the morning I woke up and pulled out a ceramic bowl, after another three hours I put the jam in the jars and again free, without any dancing with a tambourine.
  • To the apple jam recipe:
  • If you put blackberry berries on the bottom, rows in two, sprinkle with half a glass of sugar from the total amount of sugar for jam, then the jam will be the color of blackberry leaves in the fall: reddish. The jam will not turn out sour, not bitter, do not be afraid. But with a twist.
  • If you add tea cardamom (cardamom for tea) to apple jam, you get an interesting taste. Unfortunately, I cannot explain, since the tea cardamom in beans before and after preparation is very different in taste. You can read about cardamom here: 🔗
  • If the jam needs to be transported home from the dacha, and you are without a car, then take a bag of milk, put a plastic bag there and put the jam in a plastic bag. Tie the bag, and you can carry the milk bag even in the ladies' bag - it won't leak. I am horseless, so I can assure you it works, has been tested dozens of times. When you arrive home, put it directly in a bag of milk in the freezer. The jam will acquire a more delicate taste, last longer, and will easily defrost either at room temperature or put it out of polyethylene in a microwave and defrost mode.
  • She made wild game jam. With a proportion of 1 apple: 2/3 sugar, the jam is sweet and sour. And depending on how wild. I personally did not like adding vanilla sugar to sweet and sour jam. but the cardamom in it sparkled with new colors.

I cook jam by eye in a cartoon, I cut apples as my heart desires - with a peel, I never peel. I save sugar, because jam mainly goes into pies with sweet dough. The family does not like cloying jam. Perhaps I will repeat myself, but if for a slow cooker I took 2 glasses of sugar for 6.5 liters, then I put more on the cartoon. Again, it all depends on the apples.

All this time, until now, I kept jam in milk bags (I inserted a plastic bag into them, put the cooled jam there and in the freezer). The jam is not spoiled, works great with both bread dough and pie filling. Summer 2010 was not famous for its supply of apples. I had to be more careful with stocks.
