Apple and blackberry compote

Ingredients

250 gr blackberry
400-500 gr apples
~ 2.5 l of water
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Cooking method

  • This compote is very loved in our family. It has a pleasant, slightly tart taste and a crazy apple aroma. Late summer, the most fragrant, sweet varieties of apples ripen with the blackberry. Don't make it too sweet.

  • Rinse the blackberry and remove from the branches. I wash the blocks and cut them into quarters (I had small ones). You do not need to clean the skin and take out the middle. Place fruits in a saucepan, cover with cold water and let it boil. Reduce heat to low, add a little sugar and stir to dissolve the sugar faster. Boil for another 10 minutes. Turn off and let it brew under the lid for about 1 hour. Cool down.
