Red beet garnish

Ingredients

Beet 4 small
Onion 1 PC.
Rast. oil 1 tbsp. l.
Butter (ghee) 1 tbsp. l.
Salt taste
Seasoning herbs taste
Garlic 1 clove
Water
Prunes (can be dried apricots)
Sour cream 3-4 tbsp. l.
Flour 1 tbsp. l.

Cooking method

  • - Cut the beets into cubes or strips.
  • - Put in a saucepan, add the onion (finely chop), vegetable oil, butter (ghee), salt to taste, herbs, seasonings to taste, crushed garlic.
  • - Pour water in half the height of the planted beets, close the lid and simmer until tender. You do not need to add a lot of water, it is good that the water is almost completely digested under the beets.
  • - Add dried prunes (dried apricots can be used) to taste, simmer a little more until the prunes are ready.
  • - Add sour cream to taste, and flour, stir so that there are no lumps. Boil a little more - 3-5 minutes, so that the sour cream is boiled.

  • All! Done, you can serve!

Note

I'm posting the promised beetroot garnish. This recipe is many, many years old, we cook it quite often.
It turns out a very tasty beetroot dish. Suitable as a side dish, an appetizer - hot, warm, and you can even spread it on bread.
Prunes are very good friends with beets.
