Owl
Hello, dear participants and participants of the forum!

I am asking for help and advice. Quite by accident, at the beginning of July, I came across your site, smiled, on the same day I went to the first home appliances store I came across and immediately, out of interest, bought an LG HB-202CE bread maker (the cheapest model on sale). And… right there I "got sick" with baking - I, an adult and busy man, bake bread every 2-3 days, and I really like it and everything works out.

But my question is not about that - probably, having overestimated my culinary abilities, I later bought a "device" called Tefal FR-4013 "Master pilaf" and for a week I do not know how to approach it. During this time, I measured only the volume of the "pan" - 4 liters.

Can someone from the owners of the same "cauldron" suggest at least 1 recipe for pilaf adapted for this device with a sequence of actions and an approximate time for each operation (well, there "fry - 15 minutes, simmer - 20 minutes", etc. .)

Very grateful in advance.
natalka
Hello Owl! There are topics on the site about multwark, "master pilaf" was also discussed there. I realized that no one had such a saucepan at that time, but there was a suspicion (among the participants in the discussion) that it was something like a multicooker, but no one was able to confirm or deny this. Study (if you have already become the first owner of one) and report on its pros and cons on the forum. You look, everyone rushes to buy it, like multicooker in their time.

Owl
Natalka, thank you very much for responding to my question.

And I just finished cooking pilaf - I "adapted" everything myself! The taste is amazing, the yield of ready pilaf is 4 (four!) Kg. Cooking process - 1 hour 45 minutes. As for other dishes (hodgepodge, borscht, etc.), I think a multicooker is preferable, since the "Master pilaf" works under manual control - you yourself monitor the degree of heating of the "cauldron".

In general, in my opinion, this is an improved deep fryer, and the function of preparing pilaf is a pleasant addition, but the taste is really amazing. I myself was surprised.
natalka
That is, it turns out that apart from deep-frying and pilaf "Master Pilaf" does not cook anything else? It's a shame ...: (Although why? Two functions are already better than just deep-frying which you use once every half a year, and you can probably use it as a double boiler. Besides, I think in the future it will also be possible to adapt "Master pilaf" for other dishes. I hope they will be no worse than today's pilaf.
Owl
In principle, you can really cook EVERYTHING, but does it make sense to cook borscht or cook goulash in an electric pan, if these dishes can be cooked in the traditional way in a regular container on a regular stove?

The undoubted advantage of Tefal FR-4013 "Master pilaf" is that during the cooking process the temperature in the kitchen is much lower than if the gas or the electric stove were turned on. This "cauldron" has really good thermal insulation, the power consumption is small 1.55 kW / h for the entire process of cooking pilaf (1 hour 45 minutes).

It's a pity, of course, that the instruction is 12 pages of some vague photographs and pictograms. In this respect, he is far from books from bread makers, but the pilaf turned out to be just super.
wad15
oddly enough, but only today I discovered this site, apparently because the bread maker was bought before the new year, the master pilaf and the slow cooker were not very long ago. I was looking for recipes for a strange "cauldron" Tefal FR-4013 "Master pilaf" and found nothing.PHILIN - can you share your speeches and best practices ??
katnik
I decided to buy a TEFAL FR4013 deep fryer. This is the one that "Master-pilaf", has anyone read the reviews or used? Why does TEFAL call it "Electric Skillet Frying Pan with Lid and High Rims"? The price is about 3.5 tons. Or is it worth checking out ActiFry if it goes on sale? Now I am like Buridan's donkey, it seems that I will be left with nothing.
Yana
I recently bought "Master Pilaf" from "Tefal" as an addition to the multicooker. I am going to stew and fry in it, and cook "tender" dishes in a slow cooker. While stewing cabbage with meat in it. It turned out very quickly and tasty. I liked that the dish turned out to be not watery, like in a multicooker. I also liked that the bowl, the lid can be washed in the PMM.
"Master Pilaf" resembles a large square stewpan. The lid has a removable timer for 100 minutes. But I haven't used it yet. The device is lightweight, stable. It is easy to use, at the bottom there is a switch for temperature modes (5 in total) from "heating" to "free", that is, the device is multifunctional. There are no automatic programs in it. You need to set the modes yourself. I haven't cooked much in it, so I will be able to describe the functions of this device in more detail after a while.
katnik
Yana, thanks! What are the dimensions, at least approximately. Not bulky?
Tanyusha
I, too, when I visited Tefal's website, drew attention to the "Master-pilaf" from "Tefal", now I think I can order children for my birthday as a present. I liked it very much also because it is multifunctional.

Yana, thanks! What are the dimensions, at least approximately. Not bulky?

The size is about 30 cm X 30 cm. It seems to be large, but the height of the Master-pilaf deep fryer is low, about 15 cm + 4 cm a handle with a timer. If there is a place to put it, then you can buy.
Today I cooked the simplest pilaf with turkey in this device. Time spent 45 minutes: 20 minutes frying + 5 minutes laying rice, etc. + 20 minutes stewing. I put the extinguishing on a timer. After 20 minutes, he began to squeak. Now pilaf is heated, waiting for her husband from work. In general, while I'm happy with the purchase. As I understand this device is very powerful, it cooks very quickly.
Tanyusha
Yana, when you roasted the turkey, did you stir it or how did you fall asleep in multi and sleep well?
katnik
Yana, thanks! A huge request: if you have experience of using it as a deep fryer, please share your impressions.

Yana, when you roasted the turkey, did you stir it or how did you fall asleep in multi and sleep well?

When fried, then mixed. But it fries very quickly, you do not have time to lay the food. You still need to adapt to this "Master Pilaf", choose the right mode for frying. Its (mode) can be continuously adjusted. The instruction is given vaguely, only pictures. So you need to get to everything yourself.

Yana, thanks! A huge request: if you have experience of using it as a deep fryer, please share your impressions.

It won't reach the deep fat fryer soon, because we hardly use such products. But if I cook in deep fat, then of course I will.

And my husband liked this pilaf today. He said that it was almost like a real one, better than in a multicooker. To my taste, pilaf is not bad even in a multicooker, but in "Master-pilaf" it looks more like a classic one.
I photographed this pilaf, I will post the photo in the "Master Pilaf" theme later, now I just have no time - I am leaving.
Tanyusha
Well, can you stew meat, stew potatoes in it? And then only because of one pilaf I don't want to buy it, but I already have a deep fryer. Although I am very eager to buy it. I looked it is sold only in online stores, but I want to touch it with my hands.
Yana
Owl, I wash "Master-pilaf" in the dishwasher, everything is perfectly washed there. And the recipes, I think, are suitable from the multicooker for the "pilaf", "baking" and "stewing" programs.

Sure you may. There is a special "extinguishing" program with stepless temperature control.

Tanyusha
Yanochka thanks now for sure buying.

Yanochka thanks now for sure buying.

Please, do not forget to share the best practices, otherwise my abilities are only enough for pilaf and French fries. But one feels that there are much greater opportunities laid there. The instruction, of course, is no good (IMHO).

P.S. I dare to give advice: when buying, make sure a) so as not to spark the switch on the case - click it back and forth by turning on the device;

b) so that there are no scratches on the inner surface of the cauldron itself.

Nice device. But its length is half a meter. Not every kitchen will fit.
Tanyusha
Yes, only the length and stops. My kitchen is not small, but there are already so many e-mails. devices that my husband began to swear, said for each of your devices you also need to buy a place.
natalka
How delicious you are discussing this ... I really want to run after the Master-pilaf and cook for myself the same.
Yana
OwlI think you will do great. In this device, everything is prepared very quickly. And, most importantly, it turns out delicious. I also found a couple of recipes in the book "Modern Ukrainian Cuisine" for 1985. I will try to make them in "Master-pilaf", if it works, I'll post it here.

Natalka, join us while "Master Pilaf" costs less than a multicooker.
Tanyusha
Was today in M Video Master pilaf was not on sale, but I did not like the unit Grill + pancake maker + pan. It is very bulky and replaceable units are already all scrapped of any kind. Of course he stands in the window and everyone comes up and touches, but at home you won't just look at him. Who knows where the Master pilaf can be seen in the store.
Yana
tanya1962, in ordinary stores, I have not seen either. I bought it without looking at the online store. I saw the appearance only in the picture, and Owl wrote in detail about the capabilities of the device. But I was more interested in the functions of the "Master Pilaf", and not in how it looks.
Tanyusha
Yana, in which online store did you order? I wonder if you can bake in it like in a cartoon?
natalka
I’m thinking, but I’ve already looked at the store. Still, it is probably better to have a Multicooker and a Master Pilaf, and not two Multicooker. They can be divided by function.
Yana

There is no “baking” program in “Master-pilaf”. There are "roasting", "roasting" and "deep-fat cooking" plus "braising" and "heating". What is very convenient, there is no need to fry food in a separate frying pan. You can fry everything at once in one saucepan and put it on "stewing".

That's it, I think the same. Still, "Master-pilaf" stews and cooks pilaf better. The dishes are not watery like in a slow cooker. And on the cover of "Master Pilaf" there is no gum that absorbs the smell. There is only a filter to absorb the odor, which can be easily removed if the lid needs to be washed.

Yesterday I saw Master-pilaf in Eldorado on Gorbushka. I was strained by the loose lid. So I thought about it and took a Panasonic multicooker. Already baked a cake, cooked millet porridge. Now I set lobio to cook, according to the old recipe. It will be stewed for 10 hours. I undertake to report on the results!
natalka
10 hours??? Why so long. My mom does it somehow differently because she's much faster. And, most importantly, also in Multa.

Fully agreeable Well, I can't get a watery dish, nothing, maybe you just cook something on the wrong mode? For example, potatoes are better for baking ... mmmm ... finger and lick it and in 20 minutes in total
Admin

My thoughts on cooking porridge in MASTER-PLOV.

From the theory of cooking the same buckwheat porridge, you need 1 glass of cereal and water one finger above the cereal level. Or like in a slow cooker 1 cup of cereal and 3 cups of water. If you cook porridge on the stove in the traditional way, then first turn on high heat for 15 minutes, then turn it down to the very minimum and leave it under the lid.
Until now, I have done this on the stove in a saucepan with a thick bottom (before the multicooker).
If we take this principle as a basis and also try to cook buckwheat in the MASTER.
First for 15 minutes on high heat, then reduce to minimum. another 15-20 minutes.
It will turn out the same time and principle as in a multicooker.
Need to try. Although, having a ready-made mode in a multicooker, it's too lazy to try.

I still want to try frying cutlets and potatoes, I think it will turn out well.

After 4 hours I opened to see. The beans were completely soft. But the liquid did not evaporate. Although, where can she evaporate?
I took 1.5 liters of water per 500 grams of beans.
Next time I'll take 1 liter.
And the cilantro dissolved. It's not healthy. Apparently, you need to put it additionally, before the end of cooking. As soon as the result is acceptable, I will immediately write an adapted grandmother's recipe.
natalka, how is your mother doing? Lobio, like satsivi, has a ton of recipes. Rather, it is not even a recipe, but a method. :-) Every village and every family cooks differently. Moreover, sometimes the differences are astronomical.
Yana
Admin, I will try this recipe in "Master-pilaf", when kvass appears in stores, closer to summer. If everything works out well, then of course I will post it here and tell you in detail. I do not like to give recipes that have not been tested on myself, then I will be ashamed if someone does not succeed in something and the person wastes time and spoils the products.

Back to Plov ... in the preparation of GOOD pilaf .. there are some nuances .. observing which, you will always be on top in cooking this WONDERFUL dish ..
🔗
This is a link to how I made it .. from my website .. (I lived in Tajikistan for a long time ..) step by step .. with a photo ... with boldface, the same nuances ..
Yana
HyPeR, thanks for such a detailed pilaf recipe. There are many different options for its preparation, and the more we share our best practices and knowledge here, the better.

tanya1962, join quickly. And then I'm here alone, taking the rap, experimenting with recipes. There is not even anyone to consult.

Yana, this is what I think if there is heating in the Master-pilaf, then you can make yogurt in it like in multi.
Yana
I don’t know if yoghutrt will turn out in "Master Pilaf". This is a completely different device, unlike a multicooker and the principle of operation is different there. In a slow cooker, everything is cooked slowly, and in the "Master Pilaf" it is instantly fried and stewed. In a slow cooker while frying on "baking", you can safely cut the food and gradually lay it. In the "Master Pilaf" just have time to turn. At first I could not get used to the fact that everything is fried so quickly. Now I cut all the products in advance, turn on the device and immediately lay them in. The potato (1.5 kg) was ready in 15 minutes. It usually takes longer in the pan. Bigus, when I was cooking, tasted the pork in 30 minutes and it was ready. It would have been possible to serve the finished dish already, but since I did everything for the first time, I decided to leave it on "heating" for reinsurance. Maybe "accelerated" yogurt will work out. Need to try.
Tanyusha
Yana, but the heating program should be at a low temperature, because the yogurt in the cartoon is made on heating, as I understand it.
Yana
Of course, the "heating" in the "Master-pilaf" operates at the minimum temperature, but there is a smooth adjustment, that is, the temperature can be increased and gradually brought to "extinguishing" and further. Or vice versa: go from high temperature to low. There is only one "heating" button in a multicooker and you cannot raise or lower the temperature. Therefore, if you make yoghurt in "Master-pilaf", then you need to experimentally select the temperature regime. Unfortunately, there are no such developments anywhere, and it is impossible to know in advance whether it will work out or not.

We have a master pilaf only in one store and it costs 4040 rubles, which is not at all less than the cost of a multicooker and in general, it is somehow a pity to give that kind of money for it. And who took it for how much?
Tanyusha
In Moscow, Master-pilaf costs about 3500, and a multicooker is 5500.
Yana
natalka, in Moscow prices are from 3200 to 4500 rubles. I have not seen Master-pilaf in ordinary household appliances stores. I only saw it in online stores. And there you still need to pay 200-350 rubles for delivery. So the price in your store is average. The multicooker is now in in-t stores for about or for 5000 rubles.
And everyone should decide for themselves whether or not to buy this device. I can only say that after trying pilaf and stews from it, I will never cook them in a slow cooker.
Admin

I bought 3 weeks ago for 3850 rubles.

It seems to me that a multicooker and a master can complement each other.
The Master has a stronger heating of the pan, comparable to a cast iron pan. Of course, fried potatoes in it will be tastier, and pilaf too. And it heats up instantly, but you can turn down the heat (or add). And there is no condensation on the lid, it leaves through the filter in the lid.
I just started to cook in it, I still can't tell much, but I liked it.

I looked at the power of the "Master-pilaf" - 1460-1600 W, at the multicooker - 670 W. Therefore, in "Master-pilaf" everything turns out faster.
natalka
I just bought a multicooker in the summer for 3600, and my acquaintances before the new year for 3900, so I hoped to see a master pilaf somewhere for 3000r., But it turned out to be somewhat more expensive than expected.
Viki
In Odessa, the multicooker-96 u. That is, only they are not, and the Master of pilaf is 150 cu. e. is on sale. The online store offered the cartoon for 208 USD. e. Refused, I will wait.
Yana
Admin, Thank you!
I’m thinking of making fried pies in “Master-pilaf”. I just haven't decided yet: fry them in the basket or just add oil and turn them over when frying. If I bake it, I'll report back here.
