So I bought myself a simple one, Alaska. She has a power of 200 watts.
Now I'm drying red peppers and carrots for the second time.
I do not turn it on for 6 hours at once, as it is written in the instructions - I worked for an hour - turned it off, then turned it on again, max. for 2 hours. She buzzes to herself quietly, the smell is pleasant throughout the apartment.
The first time I dried onions like this, I am happy with the result.
Let's see how this time.

But it is much more economical.
This is when everything is on electricity, then it is not noticeable, but when everything is on gas, it will be very noticeable. We have a limit on electricity consumption at our dacha. This means that up to a certain number of kW we pay one price, and everything that is higher will heat up 1.5 times more. : (Exactly 200W, when I looked at it in the instructions, I subtracted 500W, that's why I didn't take it.
Exactly, 250 W.
I dried peppers and carrots - dried them in a random mode - that is, turned them on, turned them off - did not leave the dryer unattended. The result is beautiful - the color has not changed. And the total time - as in the instructions - is 6 hours. Simple and tasteful!

Now this is already mixed with onions - I liked the dryer, the smell of this mixture is something! Galina Blanca is resting!
I looked at other sites of the electric dryer - it looks like mine, the power is more, and the cost is some, like HP.
The efficiency, I think, is the same as that of Alaska.

Has anyone dried green onions?
My parents have a drying machine, and my father replied so categorically to my suggestion to dry green onions thataboutHe has never tasted the most B-e-e-e in his life. In their village they dried green onions in a Russian stove and his memories are the most unpleasant.
I dry green onions as soon as they appeared at the dacha - chives, slime onions and ordinary ones. To this I also add quinoa, lovage. It turns out well, then into the soup, into the bread - a very nice seasoning.
The smell when drying is strong, so I do all this in the country
Hairpin
And now I am an electric dryer !!! With my little Alaska. I dry currants on four pallets, and currant leaves on one. So I realized that it is necessary to dry it intermittently, otherwise it will crack. But the reviews ... The first is positive, that dried black currant turns out to be delicious, and then - what turns out sour. But I already understood that it will take several days to dry.

The VACS covers were brought to me. As soon as I finish drying my household, I'll post a photo story!

Girls, who else has such a dryer? How do you like it?
I'm looking now, I don't know what to buy. I liked this model with its top fan and its compactness. Confused by the low power of the motor and the lack of temperature control. Although, for 1000 r is a very cute unit.

MariV
Mine is already 4 years old - plowing like a tractor - the only inconvenience - there are no temperature adjustments, etc. But it honestly worked its price, and it continues to work. Meat, mushrooms, etc. do not dry, of course, but herbs, herbs, small fruits - that's it!
Svetta
And tell me, please, dear owners of dryers, what do you then do with this dried good? In the sense - where and how do you store it? After all, this is also a place for dried food, so that the moth does not gobble up ...

Dried herbs - in glass jars with screw caps.We dry enough to have enough until the new season - and why too much?
Tayna
Have you tried drying the berries? I don’t want to make jam so I don’t eat sugar. But on what to dry cherries, raspberries, strawberries? This drying has a fan on top, which means that the juice will not drip on it and scatter in all directions. But is there enough power for high-quality drying?

Why don't you dry the mushrooms? It is very important for me. I am an avid mycelium. True, we dry the mushrooms at the parents' place on an old "Rotor". But he fries them at the same time
Tayna
Girls, so what about the mushrooms? Why can't you dry on it?
I just want to buy one of these days, until the price tags are lifted up and there is a choice.
I choose between the Rotor and this model. It is more compact and has a fan on top. The "rotor" is much larger, but the fan is on the bottom. Juicy drying is problematic.

Mushrooms can be dried everywhere, including in this dryer. It's just that Olga doesn't like dried mushrooms, she doesn't eat them.

And do not be afraid to experiment yourself - until you try, you will not understand whether you need it or not.
On the forum, there are many recipes for drying - take as a basis and cook and share your recipes, everyone will be interested!

Who doesn't like mushrooms - me ??
I dried the mushrooms in this dryer - I didn't like it. Long. And in the bath - quickly. I have a bathhouse in addition to the dryer.

I read it several times and it doesn’t say that you need to give her a rest. It is only written that it turns itself off from overheating

Well, I just thought if she could work for 12 hours. The instructions did not say anything about this, so I decided to find out who is already using

I still bought both dryers. Rotorovskaya is huge (both itself and the box). And Alaska is small. I have not used Alaska yet, everything is included in the rotor one.
I didn't cook jam at all. Raspberries, victoria, gooseberries, honeysuckle, apples - everything was dried. Super!
It looks like there will be no mushrooms this year due to the drought.
Tayna
I don't know if it is necessary to give the dryer a rest, but we definitely had to rest from this dryer. Buzzing like crazy. In fact, it is a hairdryer. And the noise is like a hair dryer. And dofiga wound up the electric power. And the volume is small.
In short, money down the drain. Don't buy it, I don't recommend it.

Here "Bakhetle" pleased us with apples at 30r / kg. We took as much as 80 kg. Dried on three dryers. This "Alaska", "Rotor" of 2012 and even from relatives took the "Miracle" (a kind of "Rotor, but an older model). The best was the" Rotor. "
