Chicken pie with cheese crust

Ingredients

Flour 250 g
Butter 75 g
Milk 100 ml
Baking powder 1 tsp
Salt 0.5 h l
Chicken fillet 500 g
Boiled veal 300 g
Red onion 2 pcs
Bulgarian red pepper 2 pcs
Parsley 1 bundle
Thyme 2-3 twigs
Parmesan 100 g
Boiled red lentils 150 g
Olive oil 2 tbsp
Salt pepper taste

Cooking method

  • 1. Filling:
  • - bake bell peppers in the oven until brown tan marks (at 250 degrees 10-15 minutes). Peel and cut into cubes.
  • - cut onion and chicken fillet into cubes and fry one by one in a pan.
  • - chop the veal with a blender, finely chop the parsley, rub the cheese, tear off the leaves from the thyme sprigs.
  • - combine all the ingredients, leaving half of the cheese for the top crust.
  • 2. Dough:
  • - grind the flour with pieces of cold butter, salt and baking powder. Add milk and knead the dough.
  • - roll out the dough into a circle 0.5 cm thick, transfer to the mold with a rolling pin. Form the sides to about half the shell height. Place the filling, sprinkle with the remaining cheese and bake at 180 degrees for about half an hour.

Note

The cake is very balanced in taste. Baked bell peppers add zest to it, complemented by herbs and spices. A crispy cheese crust completes the flavor. The dough is light and crispy.

Marish, I want to bake your pie, but I don’t know what to replace lentils, they don’t eat it from me, like beans. Maybe shove potatoes there?

Marisha , lentils here serve more as a binding element, they do not greatly affect the taste. Therefore, you can simply take Philadelphia or other cream cheese (2-3 tbsp).
