Cooking method

  • Biscuit:
  • Beat eggs with a mixer (or whisk), add a jar of white condensed milk. Quench the soda with vinegar and add too, then stir in the cocoa and flour. I will make a reservation about flour. Using flour from different manufacturers, I noticed that the amount of it leaves in the recipe in different ways and sometimes reaches almost two, but I give the original recipe, and you yourself will see whether you need to add. Knead the dough soft enough, but to be able to make cakes. It turns out 5 cakes no more than 5 cm high. Heat a dry frying pan and put the crust on it, and cover with a lid. The baking process has started and takes about 3 minutes. It all depends on how you heated the pan, do not overheat it so that the cake does not burn, it should have a ruddy color and increase in height at least 2 times.
  • Cream:
  • Make the cream in advance. Heat the cream almost to a boil, but do not boil. Crumble the Mars bars into hot cream. Wait for them to dissolve and mix. Set aside until completely cooled. As soon as this mixture has cooled, beat it until thick and, whisking, gradually add soft (room temperature) butter.
  • Assembly:
  • The cakes are tasty, but they require additional impregnation for my taste (but this is a matter of taste).
  • I saturate with what is at hand.
  • Most often caramel syrup, or baileys syrup, or melted ice cream.
  • The main thing is to add a couple of tablespoons of alcohol to the syrup.
  • Cognac, liqueur and even vodka go great, and immediately ennoble the taste. And even in the cream I pour (on the advice of an experienced pastry chef from Soviet times) a couple of tablespoons of just vodka, and best of all, bison. Believe me, the old pastry chefs were far from stupid !!! That's how we move - soaked - smeared with cream - sprinkled with fried peanuts and all this was repeated 5 times. All!
  • The cake must be soaked !!! Decorate as you like, on this cake I have chocolate and marzipan fondants and chocolate cigars.

If you make the cream in advance, then everything else will take you no more than 45 minutes with cleaning after baking. Weight 1.2-1.4 kg (depends on the number of nuts, the amount of impregnation and whether you put all the cream, as well as on the top design.

By the way, once I smeared it with an excellent custard, which remained from Napoleon, adding there 3 tablespoons of hot chocolate (which is in powder, like cocoa) diluted in 3 tablespoons of very hot water.It turned out a chocolate custard, and it turned out no worse, only less chocolate !

Well, without waiting for an answer, I baked it all the same ... One might say, in between times ... I cooked dinner in the oven, and the cake was in a frying pan. Bake (fry) in a heated pan over low heat on one side for about 3-4 minutes. I liked the cakes, neither sandy, nor biscuit, nor rubber .... Tomorrow I will collect everything in a pile .... today no one wanted to snap nuts for me!

Just divide the dough into five parts and roll out the cakes in a pan with a diameter of 23 cm. And then what height you get.

The dough turned out to be tender, soft, the cakes roll out well, bake well, look like in the photo above - but absolutely tasteless, dry (despite the impregnation). Cream: cream - fresh, 35% fat, everything is made according to the recipe - whipped for more than 1.5 hours - NOTHING ....... As a result, a thickener and a little gelatin were added (I didn't raise my hand to pour it out ....). A lot of cream. The cakes are pre-soaked with melted ice cream with cognac, then cream. The family (out of respect for me, my work, nerves) - ate, choked, but asked not to experiment anymore.
In no case, I do not want to offend the author of this recipe (as they say in taste, in color ....). But consistently rave reviews are wrong - because they are NOT TASTY. I wanted to post a photo, I don't understand how to do it ...
