A trip of our members of the forum to Korea, to the Suckoo plant

I am submitting my short report on my trip to Korea, I will try to tell you about the country, people, cuisine. We went to Korea at the invitation of the Cuckoo company, so to speak, to see the plant and its products with our own eyes.

It seems to me not enough to talk only about the company and the plant, and the picture will not be complete, so I will briefly describe our entire journey. to the Cuckoo company, the plant of which we visited (from which, to put it mildly, in a very pleasant shock, we don't work like that).

We flew to Incheon airport, this is a separate island on which the airports are located, what beautiful stewardesses on the Korean flight, aaaaahhh just dolls, very nice, with such lovely smiles, I really liked them. They probably have a very strict selection there, in principle, acquaintance with Korea has already begun from the plane, it should be noted a pleasant acquaintance, I already started eating Korean dishes on the plane ... spicy, but delicious.

Well, in general, we flew in and transferred to another plane (for me this day it was already the third ... my priest was tired of sitting). Another hour of flight and we are in the port city of Busan.

We were met by a car and we drove to the hotel on the way, having stopped at the supermarket for food for the culinary show (of course, we brought a lot with us from Russia).

The store, dreamaaaaa ....., so beautifully packaged, packed, everything fresh, what a variety of products and goods there is. We bought everything for the hotel.

The hotel is on the shore, the view from the window is simply breathtaking ... water, sand ..., settled down and went to a cafe on the waterfront, there are small private cafes. The fish that are in the aquariums near the entrance .... directly falls on your table, sometimes even raw, so to speak, in its original form. They gave us some kind of gadgets, and so they even moved and crawled on the grater ... we couldn't try them iiiii ... turned out to be cowardly .... Very tasty sauces, pastas, how many greens thereiiiiii, it was paradise for me. Seafood dishes were cooked right on our table, they have such holes in their tables for hotpots with fire, and they fried right on them ... tasteful ...

Well, of course, we ate ... like bobby and quietly went to the hotel, the next day we had a very responsible one, we had to cook at the Cuckoo factory.

Some photos:

The second day, as I wrote earlier, we conducted a culinary show. Well, of course, this is said loudly, we just cooked our cuisine, and since our cuisine is still international, I cannot say that we cooked Russian cuisine.

Olya Zvezda cooked borscht (without meat) and pompushki + she also brought a snack of tomatoes and peppers (everyone liked it ... I personally liked it very much)

Olesya, a distributor from St. Petersburg, prepared pilaf and cake on condensed milk (they said pilaf tastefully, and they spoke well of the biscuit).

I cooked stuffed potatoes, a Stelline dough pie (the dough did not fail, thanks to Stella) and a dry mix pie based on Bulgarian, only with frozen blueberries (I liked it myself) About the fact that they liked my dishes or did not like them, say nothing I can't ... I didn't even understand ...

But they had a slight shock when I unscrewed the spirals from the potatoes, you should have seen their surprise, they, like children, photographed me with potatoes on their phones, in general they are very kind and open people.

To be honest, they tried everything a little bit, but they still ate their own food, it is more familiar to them. They liked what we did, they were satisfied, but our food is just not familiar to them, after a week in Korea, I myself got used to "light" food, and the bun on the plane made the body feel heavy.

The Cuckoo factory greeted us kindly ... but with an insane interest in our people. The plant consists of several buildings located at a distance from each other. This is not a giant, rather small workshops and production lines. Mostly young personnel work (although appearances are deceiving, Koreans all look quite young and good). They tried to guide us through all the shops, to show the entire production process, so that we could see with our own eyes the level of quality that is presented in the Cuckoo models.

The production consists of several sections. Mechanical section where mechanical parts (bodies, covers) are made. All components, whether plastic or metal, are all manufactured in-house.
Assembly area: consists of several automated conveyors. One collects electronic components, where they go through all the stages from assembly to control (I myself was personally convinced of how well everything was done)

The second is the assembly and control of mechanical parts.

The third is a complete assembly of finished products.

At the last stage, all products (without exceptions) go through a complex of tests.
The tests are carried out, for pressure, for blows (by the way, it was tested at home, the multicooker fell from the windowsill and nothing happened to it).

Tests are carried out in climatic chambers that simulate the impact on materials of the environment of different climatic zones. Determine the resistance of materials to low and high temperatures, moisture resistance.

All Cuckoo multi-cookers are tested for strength and quality of workmanship. Corrosion resistance and non-toxicity of the materials used, the presence of a reliable safety valve against overpressure and a control device (manometer, thermometer), the possibility of safe equalization of the internal pressure with atmospheric pressure, mandatory check of the pressure cooker for the maximum allowable overpressure.

The plant supplies its products to 15 countries (Canada, America, Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, China, England, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Russia) and each country has its own specific model that tries to take into account the needs local cuisine.

After we went to a restaurant that serves marbled meat, which I didn't eat, the girls said that it was delicious. And I took a hundred and so many plates of greens, which made me ashamed of my gluttony, but she is soooooo delicious. There we tried corn tea ..... the first sip of nothing, and then the taste of butter ... somehow I can't say that I liked it a lot.

But in general, of course, we really liked it, again the meat was fried right in front of us on the table, it's so interesting to visit another world, with a culture different from us. Again, I repeat, the Koreans are sooooo pleasant, tactful and well-mannered people.

Here's another batch of photos.

This is me with the girls

After Busan, we went to Gyeongju from Gyeongju by high speed train to Seoul.

Gyeongju was the capital of the ancient Korean state of Silla and one of the most prosperous cities in East Asia. The power of Silla, which emerged at the beginning of the 1st millennium AD. e., spread over most of the Korean Peninsula from the 7th to the 9th century. Since then, many historical and cultural monuments have remained in the city. After the fall of the Silla dynasty, the city gradually lost its significance. Modern Gyeongju is a typical South Korean mid-size city.

A very green city like the whole of Korea, there are many mountains and sooo much vegetation, roses are planted everywhere and a lot of flowers and greenery. What I liked people, they take care of theirs, everywhere cleanliness and order.

We visited the natural museum and museums of antiquity. We also visited a small family restaurant that specializes in toba (as they call it that way), we have it tofu cheese. How delicious it is, we were served fried, then, as it were, envelopes with meat and simply sliced into plates. With sauces, it's a skaaazka.

This was the only restaurant where we still had to eat on the floor, in other halls with chairs were provided, but here on the floor, but great, I liked it. They served such a beautiful pork, cooked in some special way, like boiled, but not boiled, The girls ate, they said delicious. There was this pork ... it was a pity, we are like Frosya Burlakova from the movie known to us .... we wanted to take the truncated with sooooo, that's how we are owners.

Seoul ... the final destination of our journey. He's impressive !!!

Even somehow ... it scares you with its power, huge skyscrapers ... glass and concrete. Already approaching the city you feel this power, after my millionaire, this twelve millionaire brought me into a stupor, Olesya and Olya were simpler, nevertheless, Peter is not Chelyabinsk, but they are the same under the impression of the city.

Already at the station, we began to vigorously rotate our heads, we would have started to move our legs, but the fear of getting lost is still great (I speak for myself personally). Seoul is a city of contrasts. It is a pulsating modern city with skyscrapers and traffic jams. Older Koreans are more conservative and perhaps more comfortable in those small towns we have been to before, but the younger generation revels in the rhythm of this city, you can see it, you can feel it at every step! We were also attracted by the city or we tried to get there faster. High-rise buildings .... a lot .... beautiful Ivo and there and then small streets, with cute cafes, this is such a contrast, and so harmonious. It seems to me that the whole of Korea is in this, everything is intertwined with the past and the future and the present. Walking around the evening city, we witnessed three demonstrations or protests ... I don't even know what to call it. On one, people demanded an increase in salary, on the second, students advocated a reduction in tuition fees, and on the third ... I don't remember.
We also got to the concert right on the street, on the square, an open-air concert, the songs were performed with a guitar, it was very good !!!!! And people sang along !!!! All!!! And aged and young. Of course, we tried to go through the crowd of demonstrators very quickly (while we twisted our heads, did not forget to take pictures ...) we are still foreigners and this does not concern us.
But how organized these actions were, the police were there and then who reminded that the regulated time of the action had expired and it was time to disperse (you don’t think that I’m sooooo smart and learned the Korean language in a week, this is translated for us) and people began to disperse. Girls, we were just jealous of how strong the citizenship of Korea is, people know their rights and responsibilities.

We visited the youth quarter ... or the market ... in general, there are mainly shops for young people there they hang out, there is shopping, there are cafes and discos right there, so great, we liked it.

We ate in some small cafe, cakes with kimchi, cakes with seafood, I tried to do this at home ... it's not that, today I bought everything for kimchi, I'll try to unsubscribe. It looks like a small cafe, but everything is fresh, right here just cooked ... delicious about.

They also visited our Arbat, a lot of interesting things, there young people were spinning sweets to a cheerful, provocative song, it was necessary to see, we ... we ate with delight, shouted Bravo and clapped our hands. I still did not understand what and how, but this is fantastic, from a dense ringlet-bagel of something that contains sugar, they got soooooo hairs, like cotton candy, and this all the young man did himself, only with the help of his hands, the second in these sweet hairs wrapped ground walnuts, it turned out to be delicious.

We went ... to Gorbushka (don't think of it like that), that's where Zvezda and I got pots and pans. There is a lot of equipment, but not cheap (we certainly snatched frying pans).
We visited the Imperial Palace, what a wonderful nature, vegetation, small bodies of water, and all this is practically in the center of Seoul.

Personally, I was struck by the attitude of Koreans to their nature, a river flows in the center of Seoul (unfortunately I don’t know the name), this river was closed ... they rolled under the asphalt, making a wide avenue, but then we realized that this threatens the whole nature. And what do you think? Uncomprehending They ... freed this river by building a bridge and making a pedestrian recreation area there, which suggests that people live not only in the present, but also think about the future. In the evening it is very beautiful there.

Visited the Nantes Theater (Chondong Theater) performance
The Nantes Theater is where the first Korean non-word "Nantes" performance is regularly held. Nanta is an artistic hybrid, a combination of a traditional Korean folk music performance called samulnori and a western form of performance. Four chefs appear on the stage in the form of a kitchen and begin to prepare dishes for the wedding table. In the process, they perform traditional samulnori rhythms using a variety of kitchen utensils: pots, pans, plates, etc. The theater has enjoyed great popularity since its inception, thanks to the skill, speed and strength of the artists' performance. Although the performance is mainly focused on rhythms and beats, the successful decoration makes it interesting for people of all generations and countries. The theater has received high prizes for performances in other countries, and now 70-80% of the audience are foreigners.
That was spectacular !!!! How we laughed, clapped and stomped ... This is kaaif, this is a charge of such a crazy energy !!!!!! Our cheeks ached from laughter, our hands ached from applause. It's ..... no words ....

We visited a retro cafe from the 70s, well, portions and there ... I'll tell you how the girls and I did not try, with all due respect we could not eat, it was sooooo tasty, but soooo much. It's just that in the 70s the country was being built and revived and the Koreans of that time had to work sooo hard and they ate once a day, and this one single time they tried to eat for the future, and worked for 18-20 hours, and in this cafe you are reminded , about that time, ascetic interior and large portions. I think they are proud of their fathers and grandfathers, who in such a short time from a backward agrarian country, made a highly developed country in all respects in which they all live.

We flew home, of course, with joy that we were flying home (missed), but also with ... slight regret, it was a pity to part with the country that welcomed us so well. Thank you Korea! Thanks to those people who gave us the opportunity to see all this.

You can write a lot ... it's a different world, it's a different culture, everything is new and interesting. I tried to briefly describe our emotions, sensations and discoveries. And our photos are the view of Korea through our eyes. But we saw it this way, and with my story I tried to convey everything to you. Maybe, of course, this is not all I wanted to say ... but

And now a selection of photos ...

I have been living in Korea for over 15 years. In Busan. I very much confirm that everything is written truthfully, without frills and any pre-embellishments! This is exactly how I see my second homeland - Korea, a washed, well-groomed country and Koreans love their homeland for order and prosperity in it. I love Korea! If the members of the forum have questions, write, I will gladly add the story of the girls who came to Korea. It's a pity that I'm new to the forum, so I would have met my fellow countrymen ...
