Ingredients

green lentils 100 g
vegetable oil 1 tbsp. l.
bulb onions 2 heads
dried apricots 40 g
walnuts 60 g
salt taste
parsley
Cayenne pepper
savory
water 3 tbsp.

Cooking method

  • Mshosh
  • Soak the lentils for 4 hours, drain the water, rinse the lentils, pour 3 cups of water, add salt and cook for 30 minutes (until tender).
  • Add finely chopped fried onions, crushed nuts, dried apricots and cook for another 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Serve the lentils with parsley and hot pepper.

  • Saute in 1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil onion on the Oven mode for 1 minute. Add 1 cartoon. a glass of lentils (you just need to rinse it well, you don't need to soak it!) and pour 11/4 mult. a glass of water with salt and pepper dissolved in it. Cut washed dried apricots and chopped nuts into strips. Multi-cook mode 10 minutes at a temperature of 105 *. Heating up - 15-20 minutes.

Armenian appetizer mshosh is a dense and tasty food. Probably because all the culinary recipes in Armenia combine the incompatible. In general, Caucasian cuisine, as well as Mediterranean, prefers to combine sweet and salty, bitter and sour, and everything in one bottle.
There are "cold" and "hot" variants of mschosh. According to this recipe, Mshosh is eaten cold, and dried barberry, almonds, raisins are added to the hot version.
Mshosh is prepared from red and white beans and lentils.
I ate this msshosh hot and I really liked it!

[I made mshash today. In the absence of walnuts, I put pine nuts. Very, very tasty! Did you choose a leaven? Yes, Galyunyushka, Rye sourdough (semi-finished product) I used it to bake bread in the summer until I got used to storing my Frenchie in our high summer temperatures in the refrigerator. Read it, maybe you like it? !!!

Lanochka, has not decided on the leaven (yet). I tried to grow my own rye sourdough. The first two feedings went so well, the leaven grew, rose in a hat. After the third, everything froze and did not want to grow in any way. There were already 3 attempts, everything was repeated.I even tried to bake some bread, but it is always heavy and sticky. So I gave up. Yeast never fails.
