Lenten pancakes

Ingredients

Semolina 500 gr.
Yeast 2 tsp
Sugar 1/2 - 1 glass
Salt 1 tsp
Vegetable oil 2 tbsp. l.
Warm water 2 glasses

Cooking method

  • How late we learned about the competition! Literally 3 days before its end.
  • But my husband did not give up. "I will try to!" he said to me.
  • I post the results of his labors - a whole menu - breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. And since now Great Lent and our family is fasting, all the dishes are lean, but at the same time VERY tasty.
  • So, BREAKFAST:
  • Lenten valentine pancakes with red currant topping.
  • In a bowl, mix yeast and sugar, add 1 glass of water, mix everything well. Add semolina and salt. Gradually adding water, knead the dough to the consistency of sour cream. Cover the bowl with a towel and place in a warm place for 30-40 minutes. Then add vegetable oil to the dough and bake pancakes.
  • Berry topping for pancakes:
  • Rinse red currants (or any other berry, can be frozen), pour into a saucepan, add sugar to taste and boil for 5 minutes over medium heat. Remove from heat, add a little starch to thicken the topping and cool.
