Hmm, well beer - not really for fasting
Arka
It seems to me that the previous speaker is too strict on the recipe.
Here, beer does not act as a drink, but goes into the dough. So no one will abuse it. Moreover, alcohol evaporates during heat treatment.
Or did I not understand something about the post?

Husband, husband!
It so happened that before our marriage he lived alone for a long time, on his own, so he can do almost anything in the kitchen! And he insisted on buying a bread machine, and for a whole year I did not go to her at all, he baked it himself, and then I got involved.

Why? It goes into the dough. By the way, when baking cakes, there was not even a smell of beer, and of course the taste was not felt either.
Kara
Girls, I just clarified about beer. I myself do not keep fast, because with two men in the house it is unrealistic. But in general, if the ingredients contain foods prohibited during the fast (and beer is such a product), then the finished product cannot be consumed. For example, you can't do buns with milk, but there is no trace of pure milk in ready-made buns ...

By the way, the cake is wonderful! But not lean
JuliaZ
Well, if you look at it like that, then the cake cannot be, because ... pleasure ...
JuliaZ
Kara, I specifically looked on the Internet for the answer to the question "Is it possible or not to have beer in the post?"
I can't insert the link, so I'll just copy here the answer of Father Hermogenes, priest of the Diocese, head of the kitchen of the Danilov Monastery (from the website of the icon case. Ru):

"Is beer allowed during Lent?"

Yes, but in small quantities and only on days when wine is allowed. "

But if you think that this is not a lean cake, then, of course, this is your right.

Kara,

Quite right, and during Great Lent you can drink wine only twice: on the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos and on Palm Sunday.

And who's stopping you from making such a cake on Verbnoye?
Kara
Yulenka, so nothing prevents me from making it and today I'm not talking about that I'm talking about the fact that the recipe is chic, easy to use, and I'm sure the finished product is delicious. But this is not a lean cake
JuliaZ
Kara, personally for you, as a person who does not fast and, therefore, is well versed in such things, this cake is certainly not lean. Father's words do not matter to you. Further, there is no desire to argue with you on this topic.

But this is not a lean cake

I apologize for interfering in your already calmed dispute and possibly stirring it up again, BUT - I want to acquaint you with the fermentation process: Alcoholic fermentation is the main type of fermentation in wheat dough. Caused by enzymes in yeast cells that convert protozoan sugars (monosaccharides) into ethyl alcohol and carbon dioxide. In this case, the hexose sugar molecule (glucose, fructose) turns into two molecules ethyl alcohol and two molecules of carbon dioxide. In the finished dough, the main and by-products of alcoholic and acidic fermentation should be accumulated in the required amount and optimal ratio, which determine a good specific taste and aroma of bread.
Judging by the ongoing processes, any bread, even yeast-free, is NOT LASTING. since when flour is mixed with water, the fermentation process begins immediately, since flour already contains sugar (for example, maltose - due to this, we grow dough in 5 days).
But at the time of making bread (as well as during the cooling of the finished product), alcohols evaporate first.
your right to think whatever you want, for me the cake is FAST.

milk is a product of animal origin, beer is of vegetable origin. in this case it is not applied at all for entertainment procedures. in my opinion, everything is logical, the cake is lean
Rita
The recipe is awesome! The cream, probably, can be made with coconut milk - it will look prettier.
JuliaZ
sweetka and vagsalThank you for such well-grounded support !!! And then I already had time to get upset.

Rita, great idea with coconut milk! We will try!

Why be upset? If beer can be drunk on the days when wine can be drunk, it means that it is equated with wine, and not with fish, for example. And why do they drink wine? For the buzz. And here they don't drink it, but eat it. No buzz. So you can!

JuliaZ, I have a question. The truth is not prescription. And where can you buy such corn starch in Moscow? I saw only 2.5kg in the subway. And never again anywhere in small packages. Tell me, please.
JuliaZ
husky, I bought in Platypus, for a long time it is true, it is slowly consumed by me. Look, maybe there is.
Husky
Thank you!! I'll look, maybe there is still one left for me.

On the strictest Great Lent on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as on major holidays, the use of wine and oil (vegetable oil) is allowed. Even fish is allowed twice: for the Annunciation and the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem. So the cake is the most lenten festive. Many thanks to the author for a wonderful recipe

Thanks for the recipe. Right now it’s Christmas fast, and you really want something tasty))) And even monks drink beer during fasting.I asked the priest about beer) Well, we are not monks at all. It's better not to sin in anything else

For Father's birthday, which fell on a fast day, I baked this wonderful cake. Well, there are simply no words - one delight.
I have already rewritten the recipe, so it went to the people
Beauty! Now it will be a favorite fasting holiday treat.
Only now I will stock up on beer in advance, otherwise they returned me as a malicious drunk in the store, because until 14:00 the fight with drunks goes on, and I decided to buy a bottle from the morning

I've been baking this cake for a long time. For several years now and always in fasting. I made a cream like yours, made a cream from vegetable cream, apple jelly. All three creams work great. The cake, of course, is lean. It's not even discussed. And in the post the main thing is not to eat each other. And if you really want something sweet, then it's better to do it than to walk and think about it, falling into despondency.
