Mint jam

Mint jam

Ingredients

Fresh or dry mint 200 or 150 g
Water 0,5 l
Small Abkhaz lemons 2 pcs.
Granulated sugar 1 kg

Cooking method

  • Wash the lemons well, cut them, remove the seeds - so as not to taste bitter, grind them together with the peel in a blender.
  • Dry mint - leaves along with stems, and chopped lemon, pour 0.5 liters of cold water and leave for two hours.
  • Then we boil it all for 5 minutes. Let it brew overnight or 10-12 hours. Then we squeeze and filter well.
  • Add granulated sugar. Prescription - 1 kg. But this is a bit too much, 600 grams will be enough to have a pleasant sour taste. In short, choose to your liking.
  • And cook until the sugar is completely dissolved. It is better to let it boil with constant stirring and set aside. Then repeat the procedure.
  • In seagulls - very much even nothing!

If there is now fresh mint - perhaps it will be better with it! But even with a dry one, if you revive it, it turned out well too!

It turned out well - the taste is sour, and the smell of mint. There is a scent in the house!
And the squeezed cake, so to speak, I added a couple of spoons to the compote when I cooked it. It also gave notes of mint and lemon.

And we don't have it at all, but I kept the recipe "just in case."
olesya26
Olya, I understood correctly, you need to boil the mixture twice, with a break for cooling, stirring constantly and you're done
Tanyulya
Olya, I just saw the recipe. Thank you. I brew mint all year round in tea, we have very good mint on sale in Ashan, and now mint and lemon balm are already on sale in the country.
irysska
Olya, thanks for the recipe! I would never have thought that you can make jam from mint Interesting to try
MariV
Thank you girls for your feedback!
Yes, now is the time for this jam - but you shouldn't cook a lot, just a little, for the exotic. It's better to just brew the mint, add the lemon and sweeten it with honey!
Valyushka
I made a slightly different recipe, more mint. The result is an awesome syrup with a bright mint flavor. By autumn I will still do how the mint will grow
MariV
Valyushka, Valentina, I'm glad. that I liked the recipe. And my husband has mowed all the mint, now a new one will not grow.
litichka80

Well, you fucking give! (from a famous film) I didn't have time to really realize that I’ve gotten into tea-making with my head, but here you’re a mint recipe! The brain immediately rattled the millstones forcibly, and issued a certificate saying that I had a bag of dried water mint from last year! After rubbing his hands, he set to work. Soon there will be a photoreporter!
Valyushka
Yuri K, and I'm waiting for it to grow in order to make some syrup and dry it like tea, in granules ... but she is in no hurry to grow
Yuri K
Valyushka, I don't have a new harvest season yet, but there was just dried mint, I hadn't even heard of the forum then, I pick it when I go fishing. It's too early to collect

Well, here I have honored my spoon tar honey
