Yoghurt in bread maker LG HB-3001

Ingredients

homemade milk 2 liters
Sacco sourdough 1 sachet

Cooking method

  • Boil the milk, cool to 37-38 degrees. Then dilute the starter culture in a small amount of milk and pour it into the bulk (in my case, this is a 2-liter jar), cover with a lid and put yogurt in the HP program for 8 hours. Perhaps it will sit down earlier, but for starters, more time is better than less.

The dish is designed for

2 liters

Time for preparing:

6-8 hours

Cooking program:

Yogurt

Note

I always made yogurt in a bucket (1.4l), which comes with HP. Then I decided to put a 2-liter jar, since the size of the stove allows it. At the bottom of the stove I put the vessels upside down. Maybe someone will use my experience.

Is the yogurt tasty? I am looking after a bread maker for myself, I liked 2001BY, as I understand they are the same functionally, only 2001 without a dispenser. How long have you had this bread maker? Are you satisfied with her? Thanks in advance for your reply.
Vitaok
I have a bread maker since March 8 this year. Happy with the wrong word! The dispenser, to be honest, is useless (as for me). I add the additives right away. I corrected the recipes (reduced the amount of sugar and yeast), because the bread is sweetish. The yogurt is excellent - the whole family likes it, which is why I make it in a 2-liter jar (the container for yogurt that comes with a 1.5-liter bread maker). Whipped butter from homemade cream - great! I never got a pizza dough, and now it's no problem. I didn't cook jam. I read complaints on the forums that after boiling jam, a bucket starts to leak (God protects it). In general, there is no limit to my delight !!! This is my irreplaceable assistant and expert for the past eight months.
Lord 68
Thank you. About the dispenser, I myself think that the option is superfluous.

Vitaok, and this is in the sense of a plastic container put upside down? And I didn't quite understand from the photo, sorry)) Can you make yogurt in the bucket itself, or is it better not? I want to make yogurt for a child, but I don't know how, tell a newbie, please)))
Vitaok
Marina, of course do it in a bucket. It was just not enough for me, so I decided to make it in a 2-liter can. And in order to prevent the jar from falling, I used vessels of a suitable size.
Take milk, if it is homemade, then it is imperative to boil and cool to the fermentation temperature (t look at the starter package). Pour some milk (about 50 g) into a glass, pour the leaven into it and mix well. Pour the contents of the glass into the rest of the warm milk, mix well. All warm milk with sourdough is poured into a container for yogurt, closed with a lid, put in a bucket and sent to the HP on the "yogurt" mode. Time in this mode is set from 6 to 8 hours. See the preparation time on the starter package.
It seems that I wrote everything in detail, but if something is not clear, ask.
mari-no4ka
Thank you very much for the tips. Can you use only homemade milk? Can't be pasteurized or UHT (store)? Does it somehow change the taste or consistency of the future yogurt?
Vitaok
Of course you can shop. And by the way, I like yoghurts more on store milk: the taste is better and the consistency is better. In the instructions for the leaven that I take, it is written that you do not need to boil store milk, but only warm it up to the desired temperature.
mari-no4ka
And what is the store's fat content? Or is it not important?
Vitaok
So it does not matter.
Lord 68
For an amateur. I like it thicker, so I take milk with 6% fat, or add a little cream.By the way, UHT milk can only be heated, boiling homemade milk is necessary, store-bought milk is desirable. If you want to add fruit, then only canned or already ready-made yogurt.

and in my oven (LG HB-1001 CJ) yogurt is drawn and written, but there is no such function. something you can think of?
Vitaok
MorgachevaAnna, do you really have such a regime?

And I read about making homemade yoghurt and found that people instead of sourdough add Activia or sour cream, with activism is clear, but how is it with sour cream? regular kefir won't work?
I wanted to try with activation, but I looked at her expiration date for a month, it seems to be not good. .. maybe try acidophilus with him for 5 days, but I haven't found it anywhere, maybe it can't be used ..

with activity is clear, but how about sour cream? regular kefir won't work?
sveta-Lana, no, it will not work. It will turn out almost sour cream, but not so fatty, that is, a less fatty product than with cream, but very thick - a spoon is worth it. Recently, I often ferment milk with yoghurt sourdough and sour cream (15%) in a 1: 1 ratio. We really like it.
You can also ferment with natural store-bought yoghurt. I have always had great results, no matter which store-bought yoghurt I used as a starter. The main thing is to choose pure yoghurt without any additives.

It is better not to use a long-lasting activity. In general, look at the composition - if there is only milk and bacteria without any preservatives, stabilizers and thickeners, then you can try.
Acidophilus can also be used. It has a very beneficial effect on the digestive tract. But this is if you are not confused by such a feature of it as stringiness and some sourness.
Vitaok
Svetlana, try on sour cream. My grandmother always started homemade sourdough, the one that was stewed in the oven until pink (brown) color, and always started it with shop sour cream. If you ferment with store-bought yogurt, then choose without additives as advised Zoya.
sveta-Lana
Zoya, thanks for the information, now I have found a natural Pershinsky yogurt in our store, it contains only milk and sourdough, the shelf life is 10 days, they say this company also produces sourdough, I'll try and find it.
Vika, thanks, I'll try and compare with sour cream too. I think it will be better for anyone than store-bought yoghurts.

Svetlana, do not even doubt - it will be much better and tastier.

Great yogurt. Try it.

Svetlana, try it with sour cream.
I join Vika. Try sour cream too. In general, experiment - and on dry sourdough, and on ready-made yogurt, and on sour cream, and on a mixture. Everything will work out. Good luck!
sveta-Lana
Zoya, already put on Pershinsky yogurt, in 6 hours it will be ready

oh, I couldn’t resist got it earlier, so I was eager to try ... tasteful oh ... I added a banana there
Zoya
sveta-Lana, Congratulations ! Well, now you can safely experiment!
sveta-Lana
Zoya, thanks, I'm experimenting, I can't stop

I did not find a topic about my HP with the function of Sentek 1406 yogurt. Tell me, please, I want to make yogurt, in the recipe book it just says that the time is 8 hours and everything is empty. there is a yogurt maker, but it is interesting to cook in HP. I boil the milk, cool it down, pour in the leaven (everything is as usual when making yogurt) and just pour everything into the HP bowl? is it possible? or can't you cook yoghurt in a non-stick bowl?
Vitaok
tamila, I think it is possible. After all, they make yogurt right in multicooker, and there is also a non-stick coating there. The main thing is that the bucket does not leak.
