Convection oven actually a cool thing if there is no grill function in the stove, but very bulky in my opinion. And what really tires me is to wash it. Maybe in modern (mine was bought in '95. I specially looked at the check, it became interesting myself) models, this issue is somehow solved technologically.
Consists of a large glass pan and a glass lid with motor and fan. The food is prepared with hot air by blowing. You can cook in dishes (refractory glass, ceramics) and on the wire rack (included). Everything large is cooked on the wire rack - chicken, fish, meat, vegetables. And in the pot there is every little thing, well, if the dish contains liquid. It turns out delicious, but I will not say that it is fast. And the grilled chicken is simply incomparable if you smear it with mayonnaise on top (before cooking)
Since my unit is ancient, it has no functions other than a timer and temperature.
Modern models are certainly more functional.

Kulya, do you have an airfryer? There is self-cleaning, but it is the dangling of water over the pan. If you add detergent, you still need to rinse it by hand. And this means dragging into the bathroom, because in the kitchen this contraption can hardly fit into the sink. Otherwise, the thing is comfortable, but large. It takes up a lot of space in the kitchen. And of course you need to buy a good device (when I bought it, they just appeared and they brought everything that came to us).

I share my experience of communicating with the airfryer.
Wash - no problem. Firstly, there is a special corrugated pallet, which is placed on the bottom before using the stove, which means that the main "dirt" in the form of fat, pieces, etc. will fall on the pallet, then after the stove has cooled down, it must be thrown away and washed like other kitchen utensils. detergent. I wipe the stove inside with a sponge dipped in dishwashing liquid and for this I do not even pull the glass flask out of its place (so as not to drag it around again), and then rinse and wipe it with a clean cloth. I don't fill in a lot of water at all. And that's it! That the flask should be constantly dragged into the sink and swear at it and be afraid to break it when all the dirt remains in the pan. Of course, after such operations, you will fiercely hate the airfryer. Then you have to hate the microwave, there is more dirt, and even every day. In the microwave, you also need to cover the food with a lid. I do not often take out the flask for washing in the sink.
Convection oven is useful and good for those who want to cook without oil. Even when you coat the chicken with oil or mayonnaise, all the excess fat flows into the pan, unlike the oil in a pan, in which the meat is fried and absorbed. Moreover, this does not affect the quality of the finished product in the airfryer. Chicken "tobacco" weighing 1 - 1 1/5 kg. roasts at high speed in 35 minutes. And what a marinated shish kebab turns out! All meat and fish dishes cook very quickly and well. Mackerel of St. ice cream. smoked with a smoke in 10-15 minutes, etc. There are many recipes. And you also need to adapt, try recipes. I now have very little and rarely fry in a pan, the taste of fried butter annoys me.
What I would not start cooking in the airfryer is to make baked goods, cook borscht and porridge with compote. I think "the game is not worth the candle." Long and not practical.
Porridge is perfectly cooked in a dish with a thick bottom (like a Zepter) or in a real oven in pots. Pies are also better and tastier in the oven. First courses are definitely better on the stove or in the oven.
The recipes (and video) show cooking vegetables for vinigrette in an airfryer, cooking time 50 minutes. Not practical. It is better to cook such vegetables in a double boiler (cut into small pieces, in 20 minutes) or in a Zepter-type saucepan (also in pieces in the same 20 minutes), faster and tastier.
I like to cook in heavy-bottomed pots when I can cook without water. The most interesting thing is that meat (for example, pork) is ready in 30 minutes and is almost completely salted, although no salt is added, and in general, the taste of the same borscht turns out to be different, and not so fatty.

The airfryer is also good where you need to make a crust on a dish, grilled sandwiches. Still, the best thing is meat and fish. It's my opinion. I have had a hot air grill since last summer, I use it all the time.

He does not smoke as such, it is just that the recipe uses a preparation for smoking, which gives the smell and taste. I use liquid smoke.
If the size of the kitchen allows, you can buy it for a change, but I did not feel the need for it.

Sometimes I used a pan from an airfryer for an Olivier salad when many guests were expected. The capacity is just huge and the salad was convenient to stir.
You can also heat the rooms with the cover from the airfryer. You put it on its side and you get a wonderful fan heater.
My opinion is this - a thing in the household is not very necessary, since it makes no sense to keep such a bandura in the house just because of meat.

Multichotter is an addition to the airfryer. Stew, boil, fry and steam in fairly large volumes (4.7 liters). I am very happy with it. The airfryer is much more functional and it is different in terms of the principle of operation and results.
