Ingredients

Flour 600 ml
Baking powder 12 ml
Soda 3 ml
Sugar 5 ml
Salt 5 ml
Butter 150 ml
Kefir 300 ml

Cooking method

  • All products are in ml as it is an American recipe. I used OXO measuring spoons and cups (plastic).
  • Mix all dry ingredients, add cold oil, chop (blender) into grains. Add kefir and stir very quickly. Place the dough on a surface and quickly draw / knead, folding in half and turning at right angles after each folding. About 5-7 times. Roll out 1 cm thick and cut out the circles with a glass.
  • Bake at 200 degrees C until golden brown. I baked in an air fryer. You can in the oven.

I liked the recipe, thanks! I smeared each circle with sour cream and sprinkled with semolina, after baking. Excellent shortbread buns, especially for those who gradually want to give up sweets! :)

ElenaI have frozen the lean version. I want to say that it is better without freezing. If freezing does not affect the usual version, then it is better to bake the lean dough immediately. You can try freezing after baking. Then defrost and reheat in an air fryer. I do that with waffles.
