The day after tomorrow is New Year's, and today I remembered that there was a semi-finished gingerbread house in the stash. The question arose with what and how to glue its parts and how to decorate? There is a very vague instruction on the box. I would like to get a house in icicles and powdered with snow. Can someone tell me.
After spending 6 hours in 4 hands and spoiling 0.5 kg of caramel and 2 glasses of sugar, we made it. It turned out to be very exciting and not at all sorry for the time. All windows were filled with caramel melted in the microwave, the walls were glued with caramelized sugar. Glaze snow. The house is purchased and there are no additions to it in the form of trees and little men, next year I will definitely try to bake everything myself.

I collected, decorated and thought: maybe someone else wants to bake this?
If there are people willing, I took the recipe here: 🔗
Mine is of course more modest than the author's, but I'm happy:
Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)
It turned out to be not so difficult, but very exciting!
I made the dough in 15 minutes. It lay in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. While rolled, cut and baked - about an hour. Collect - another hour and a half. You can just have a house without an extension. It will be faster. The gingerbread dough turned out to be very tasty!
I haven't baked gingerbread before, let alone houses. It turned out to be so interesting!

Honey 250 g,
Sugar 250 g,

Eggs 3 pcs,
Soda 1 tsp with a slide,
Wheat flour 7.5 cups,
Spices to taste (cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla, allspice, black pepper)

My daughter is 3 and a half years old and she is waiting for a house like a miracle ... This year we will sculpt and paint together, I only have pictures of the first houses, they are not digital, I need to scan to place, and I am also in the past year, I collected a Christmas tree from gingerbread dough for my nephew, for a competition of homemade Christmas trees for school, it is also very beautiful, if I find a photo I show.

Gingerbread house

Dough:
Wheat flour 600 g,
Jam thick 400 g,
Honey 100 g,
Butter (or margarine) 100 g,
Chopped orange cecates 2 tbsp. l.,
Orange zest 1 tbsp. l.,
Soda 1 tsp
Lemon juice 1 tsp

Mix everything thoroughly, roll out the dough in an even layer of 1 cm, cut out on a stencil, grease with an egg, prick with a fork, bake at 180aboutFROM.
Stencil: longitudinal wall 11x14 cm (2 pcs), transverse wall 11x8 cm (2 pcs), roof 10x16 cm (2 pcs). Do not forget to carefully cut a window in one of the longitudinal walls and a door in one of the transverse ones, and vice versa, as you like, and bake two small squares for the chimney.
Assemble a house from chilled parts, fasten it with toothpicks for fidelity, glaze it with glaze, decorate ... well, who's great! From the remnants of the dough, stick (cut with a mold) and bake gingerbread animals, paint them too and place them next to the house.

this is one of the very first houses, I scanned it at last, now I’m doing it better, and this is an example of what kind of house looks like it comes from the previous recipe.

My gingerbread house. True, not yet fully completed. On an empty cookie is a place for a snowflake and a month. And I'll sprinkle the powder in front of the table already. I glued it with chocolate. Everything about everything went to 1 tile. I liked it more than the glaze, it hardens faster and holds better.

jenyasan , this is not a house, but a whole palaceGingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)

Thank you!
My son said that this is the kingdom of Baba Yaga, where Koschey the Immortal will visit. I was also outraged that the lollipop above the door does not burn when you turn on the garland. Now he ordered me a hut on chicken legs, so that Baba Yaga would fly out of the chimney.

Quote: Lika

Well done, child, fantasy works !!! It is also necessary that the hut should turn "back to the forest, in front of me", and to Baba Yaga the control panel.

I correctly understood that the entire structure is assembled on a plastic tray in which the bulbs are fixed?
I didn't write about the remote control, but he asked with the remote control!
Plywood board covered with wrapping paper. The garland was secured with tape. The wires are hidden under the glaze.
The eyes are afraid, but the hands are doing. The lesson is so exciting that ANYTHING will definitely work out!

I took the house from the site 🔗.
First, think about where you will put. Measure the overall dimensions, dance from them already. We have a whole house, width 22 cm, length 40 cm and height 35 cm, taking into account the decorations.

I also brought my houses. It turned out small, the pattern was halved.
Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)

Today I will collect even more. I'll show you later.
Making a Christmas tree is easy. You draw a template - a half of a Christmas tree. Bake 4 pieces according to this template (cut out hearts or stars on the pieces with cuttings for mastic or small cookies) and the base on which the tree will stand. Glue together with icing, decorate to your taste.
I cut out the windows and hearts on the tree before baking. Painted and glued with icing (so thick that the fork trail keeps well). Smoke is cotton candy. Snow - powdered sugar, coconut (on the first house).

Quote: jenyasan

Cilia, Thank you. I glued my house with chocolate. Everything about everything went to 1 tile.I liked it more than the glaze, it hardens faster and holds better. What recipe did you use to make the dough?

jenyasan , on prescription Gerda from the forum "At the Samovar"

Quote: Lika

Cilia, the whole village painted on. I have a question about snow, can I pour coconut on NOT frozen icing, or then is it possible? Aisingg mixed with a mixer or Tortyzhka?

I will sculpt my houses and trees for this recipe, from gingerbread cookies, just change the set of spices a little to your taste.

Lika , coconut on NOT frozen icing. Ising kneaded without a mixer, proportions by eye to the desired density. For gluing - thicker, for painting - less thick.

And I'm walking with my house.
I myself know: there are many imperfections. But there is absolutely no time to fix them. Don't be too strict - this is my first gingerbread house.
Hands were shaking, files were torn.

Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)
Quote: jenyasan

Lulek, you have a very beautiful house. The windows are so neat. I was particularly impressed with the frames. And the dough is so colorful Because of the spices? I still love the figures. Purchased? Can you ask them to take a closer picture
and from the back too. It will probably be magical with a flashlight inside!
I made the dough with bran (There was already a link to this dough here 🔗), added juniper berries (gag), ginger (as expected) and ground nutmeg.
The figurines are purchased, I have these in my warehouse.
We tried to light a candle inside yesterday. Looked great in the dark
Today I played a little trick on the house and finished the second one.
Quote: jenyasan

It means that your house has been standing for 3 weeks. I am still tormented whether I need to cover him with something or let it be so. How to gnaw it later, it will become dusty. How do you keep yours?
No, I made this house yesterday and placed it there.
But you still have to gnaw
I cover it with a rag.
Or maybe put in cellophane?
Lika
Well, finally, I finished my construction.

Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)
On some windows I laid out the curtains with a spirit-colored karmel.
A day later I started assembling. For this, the icing was prepared not very thick and, using a set for working with mastic, I dulled to construction. For these purposes, you can borrow a plasticine tool from a child.
I cut the edges of all parts at an angle of ~ 45 degrees, for the convenience of gluing joints. To get an idea of which inner or outer side to trim, try joining the pieces before icing. I used a square to align the corners when gluing.
🔗
We grind some of the walls on which the roof slopes will rest
I have a sloping roof with a transition, when assembled it looks like this. All seams and gaps are well coated with icing.
We glue the bay window on the front wall. It is without windows, since the size of the parts is not large and the slotted windows could affect the strength of the walls.
🔗
As such, the house was sent to dry for 2 days.
Lika
Today I started the final design of the house. Used icing, cookie fudge and gel dyes, disposable piping bags, and a closed star attachment.
First, she circled the window frames and hung a garland of lights.
Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)
The photo shows the cracks on the roof. I dropped it, I had to glue it from pieces. To apply icicles, draw from top to bottom with fondant, adjust the length by smooth movement. The sharper the movement, the shorter the icicle.
We also apply snow blockages and icicles on the windows and the front door.
Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)

To cover the roof, we slightly heat the fondant, apply and spread with a brush, and immediately sprinkle with coconut.
Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)

To seal the seams of the bay window, we take an asterisk nozzle and green icing, draw Christmas tree garlands.

Quote: Lika

kleskox35, excellent houses and so elegant roofs, paths, snow. We have a tendency to build entire villages, it's time to change the title of the topic to "How to build a gingerbread village?"
By the way, what is the snowball made of and what are the houses on?
The village is somehow more fun ... The houses are on ordinary packaging (pvc, white opaque) trays, flat and turned upside down, so they can be taken without problems .. and easier to fix, by the way, the Christmas tree too, and the snowman on the gingerbread. Well, snow from coconut flakes, only 2 bags of 30g each.
Quote: RybkA

kleskox35and beauty on the rooftops of M & M's and mashmelrow? And from a distance it seems that the colored stones are pieces of jelly.
On the rooftops there are M & M's and mashmelrow, and the multi-colored pebbles are candied fruits ..
I’m all completely wrapped up! Only now I understood Lika's question - the farm as a whole stands on a large oval tray!

RybkA, I gave a dough recipe and one pattern in this thread on the first page, the dough is good because the blanks can be cut out of parchment for baking, put on rolled dough, cut, turned over and baked right on the parchment, and taken out in a couple of minutes. they are perfectly removable, the dough does not flow and is generally very tasty.

Girls, where do you take patterns and dough recipes? And how can this be done without forms? What do you just cut out on a pattern with a knife and into the oven?
How to cut out the details of gingerbread houses
RybkA , here everything is described in detail:
🔗
jenyasan
How to work properly with gingerbread dough
RybkA, patterns can be simply drawn or printed on paper. Just do not forget to oil the paper when you apply, otherwise it may stick. Another tip: draw and bake the walls first. Then glue them together, and only then build, the roof and small parts. It is impossible to roll out the dough of the same thickness everywhere, some parts rise a little, some float to the sides. The thinner the dough, the more accurate the baked part is. Hot dough is very well cut with a sharp knife, you can immediately cut it. When it cools down, you can also trim it with a grater. It is better to cut out the details according to the pattern immediately on the parchment on which you will bake, so that they do not deform during carrying.

Fallout. One owl is worth something. It's even a shame to exhibit your own.
BUT, that's mine. Considering that the house was made in three hands, two of which are for children and the third, although mine, is left, then in general it is decent. The main thing was that my son was delighted.

But with the dough ... I shoveled a bunch of recipes and I just can't decide on the dough ... Everywhere there are such quantities of ingredients, it seems to me overstated, but I don't know exactly how much it will need ...
I want what would be brown, that is, not light, and what would not be oak, because the children will take it apart, so that it would not be necessary, like some recipes for sedation.
I baked this on prescription gingerbread cookies, kneaded double rate. Roof covering and icicles sugar fudge Cakes. The color is given by cinnamon or cocoa (there will be a chocolate color) - the more, the darker. If kneaded quickly and by hand, it will be as soft as regular shortbread cookies. The Christmas trees from it lay for 2 weeks under a napkin on the table, everything chews perfectly.

How to make caramel windows in a house
Quote: RybkA

Now about caramel ... but how to cook caramel yourself? How much sugar do you need: water?
Why caramel? For windows? So there you just need to pour the crushed caramels and put it in the oven for a bit.
RybkA
Here is my gingerbread house, probably the last one this year
The house served as a decoration for the cake. Inside it was stuffed with potatoes + soufflé, the walls were slightly soaked. During the day, he was well saturated and became quite edible so that none of the children would break their teeth.
I show from all sides
this is the entrance. The doors had to be closed because the soufflé was blown out. The tree still did not want to stand still, it had to be propped up slightly.
Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)
Caramel in the windows Made really simple, even easier than you think
Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)
The back wall was originally decorated, I overdid it in a fit of passion, and remembered about the chimney when everything was ready. In general, I closed it up quickly.
Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)
The pipe turned out to be short, it could have been higher.
Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)
All parts were baked even without distortion and bulges. They seemed perfect to me, but when I started to glue them, the holes were decent places, especially in the roof.
Zhivchik, fugaska thank you very much for the compliments
Quote: Zhivchik

What a beauty! How long did you collect it?
I stretched the pleasure for three days: baking + external decor + gluing, but the first two points could be combined, and I did not have the opportunity because of the little helpers who all the time tried to steal something and try it out.
Quote: fugaska

and what is in the pipe? potatoes too? Well, the laying just amazed me !!!
I spied the masonry somewhere, I don't remember exactly where, probably in the Sun. I also really liked it, and most importantly, the simplicity of the material and the ease of execution.
And in the chimney ... the smoke (my husband laughs it off), in fact, I didn't know how to make it volumetric differently, so I just baked three identical chimney patterns and glued them together. Although the option with potatoes in a pipe is interesting, but more troublesome.
RybkA, such a fabulous and cozy house - the New Year continuesGingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)
and so that the parts do not deform during baking, I roll them out and cut them out on baking paper, and transfer them to a baking sheet on it. When assembling, I preliminarily combine the parts and use a knife to clean up, smooth out irregularities. First, I glue the house, and in order not to be afraid to brush off the patterns, I apply the decor to the already assembled house.
Quote: RybkA

I didn’t think of rolling it out on baking paper. And I was afraid to cut the dry ones with a knife, so as not to crack.
I didn't put it that way. Do not cut, but saw, scrape. Well, like we peel carrots or young potatoes with a knife.
Quote: londar

No, no ..... the house is not the last ...... I also did it on my d / r as a decoration on a cake, the other day I will throw it out ....... Of the guests there were only adults, Lord .. .. I think they were happy more children))))
Quote: Anyuchka

Good day.
The houses are amazing. I wouldn't have had enough conscience to eat them, so I would have left them on the shelf for many years as a decor.

Girls! I remind you it's time to make gingerbread houses soon! If you are making a special gingerbread dough, then it's time to knead it! He needs 2-3 weeks to ripen ...

It seemed to me that any gingerbread dough is already special, but that there is some very special recipe? kleskox35, share! And then somehow I'm not yet mentally ready for the New Year, for some reason

This is the recipe for the classic Christmas gingerbread. If it is too confusing then take any of this topic you will not be mistaken.

By the way, on Sunday I saturate myself with a Christmas cake, and my husband is spinning around (attracted by the smell of cognac) suddenly he says to me, will THESE last year's sweets be? After a thorough inquiry, it turned out that we are talking about those very Christmas gingerbread! So where to go from the submarine ... I'll bake.

Gingerbread dough from Gerda
Recipe

500 gr of honey
2 eggs
500 gr sugar
300 gr margarine
50 gr cocoa
2 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp. l. rum or 3 drops of flavoring
1 tsp cinnamon
a pinch of cardamom (it is better to use cardamom in the grains, it is more fragrant, the seeds from the boxes need to be ground in a mortar)
a pinch of cloves
a pinch of ginger
pinch of anise
zest of 1 orange and 1 lemon
vanilla
1250 flour is an approximate amount. Usually it takes less.

1. Heat honey, sugar, margarine until sugar dissolves. The mass should not boil, but only warm up. Remove from the stove and allow to cool slightly (at least 68 * C).
2. Mix half of flour with spices, baking powder, zest, cocoa.
3. Into the honey mass add not whipped eggs, but mixed until smooth, in 2 steps. Add rum (cognac is possible) or flavoring
4. Stir the spiced flour into the honey-egg mixture and knead the dough well. Stir the rest of the flour gradually, the dough should be firm and elastic. It will take 20-25 minutes.
No need to strive to stir in all the flour. While kneading, the dough will cool down, but it will still be warm. Stop, place the dough in a plastic bag and leave in the refrigerator overnight. Let it rest and rest.
5. The next day, prepare a template for the future house from cardboard. The walls are gable and roof. Now, roll out the dough on the table and cut out the details of a house or a figurine, and bake ..
You can bake a Christmas tree or a heart first for a test, to see: if the shape is blurred, then you need to add more flour.
Doors, shutters and windows of the house need to be cut out while the dough is hot, because after cooling it becomes brittle.
6. Collect the cooled parts with sugar glaze. powder, protein, and lemon juice (without whipping).
With its "foundation", the house also stands on a gingerbread basis. The walls are also attached to it.
The dough should mature at least overnight, and ready-made gingerbread will ripen for 1-2 weeks. In order to speed up the ripening of the finished baked goods, you need to put apple or orange slices in a box with gingerbread. You can also use apple peels.

Tufifay, in 2009 I also made big houses, and I realized that such sizes are not convenient for me - they are too big for gifts, and for myself too. Therefore, the pattern was reduced by exactly 2 times. The houses turned out to be 10 * 12 * 14cm, width, length, height. This size is ideal for me.

How to pack gingerbread houses
The houses can be placed on thick cardboard, chipboard, plywood, plastic panels, gypsum cardboard. Only insulate with paper.
I recycle cardboard boxes from under the computer, TV, refrigerator, and whatever I found in the pantry. I glued it in several layers, wrapped it with wrapping paper, glued baking paper on double-sided tape, and already assembled houses on it.
Wrapped it in transparent film, like flowers are packed, tied a ribbon bow on top (I also bought it from flower girls), collected the sides with a stapler.
Sorry, there are no photos of packed houses. But they look like a gift option. With this packaging option, there are significant advantages - all the beauty of the houses is visible, while the house is closed from dust and can be perfectly stored until ripening and eating.

I have one little piece of advice. While the parts are warm, you need to trim the edges, because they keep their shape in the corners during the baking process, but they stick out a little in the middle, and even a gap of several millimeters greatly interferes with assembly.

Olesya, well, this is no longer a house, but a whole estate! Enough for all the relatives! No wonder they sculpted for a week! Well done!
Prus-2, you, too, turned out handsome, for nothing, what did you do for the first time!
Well done, all the girls who swung at such a difficult job! I tried it somehow, didn't bring it to mind, and this year there was no time. I hope to return to this topic again.
Irina, thank you! I do not advise starting. Such a hassle! We talked to the children, of course, while the house was being assembled. They quietly dragged my cookies. Nice, undeniable. Only, it seems to me, there is more sense from the rolls: you can eat them right away. And children have already swung at this house more than once, trying to chew off a piece. And today they asked: "When can I eat?" I think until NG I will still defend him, and then I will not hold the siege.

Well done, Olesya! : girl_claping: Very nice, it turned out great.

Olesya, don't be greedy! Let them gulp, they deserve it. And another time I will act cunningly - I have already bought a Teskomovsky house (templates), it is much easier to do with them. Was going this year, but the Christmas tree greatly distracted. I will do it in the future.
Girls, thanks for the praise. Well, very nice!

Girls with all the upcoming holidays !!! Here I am with my hut. This is my first gingerbread and first icing. I baked the blanks about 2 weeks ago, kept them in a box, I thought they got stiff during this time, but no soft ones. Also, one part of the pipe was missing, as if the husband ate it, although he did not confess. For me, getting together at home was very exciting. For a gift for N. and Christmas, it looks great. And the manufacturing process is not time consuming, the dough was kneaded in HP and due to family circumstances it lay in the refrigerator for a long time. I specially bought a plastic cutting (very convenient), it bakes quickly, and then into a box and decorate when there is time !!! The result will delight you.

Did you buy logging sites in Fink? I seem to have seen such people in Prism.
Yes, in her, in Prism. I have all the details on one sheet, and when I already bought it, I saw a more convenient one (as I now understood), there each detail is separate.

Well, now, I made the second house too!
I made it a little smaller than the first, and the roof a little more. This house is a gift to one little boy - the son of our friends.

you just got a fairy tale! also 2 fairy tales! Are Santa Claus and Snow Maiden edible? And how was the tree made? Presents? Can I have an instruction?
Thanks for the praise! Santa Claus, and the Snow Maiden, and the icing tree - for the first house I ordered from Lily, and for the second my daughter bought from our market. And also snowmen, there are 3 of them in one box. Gifts are made of Christmas tree decorations, we bought a whole set of them last year. I glued everything to chocolate (I didn't have time to clean up the gifts in the 2nd house - they already came for him, they said so well). And she glued the houses themselves with chocolate - it hardens very quickly and holds tight. And yet - I did the icing for the first time, maybe it was wrong, but it seemed strong - I first beat the protein with lemon, and then mixed the powder with a teaspoon - it turns out faster and the powder goes less. At the first house I tried to mix the second portion of icing just with a spoon into unbeaten protein - it took a lot of powder, and the protein is all liquid, I then whipped this mixture with a mixer, did not hope that it would beat, but everything worked out - it thickened. Maybe someone will come in handy.
Girls! Everyone has such wonderful houses! And gingerbread is just superfood!

Girls! I'm not the only one! What are your houses, houses, houses! Just a lovely sight! And this topic is fascinating as !!! I gave my house to my godson for Christmas. He kept it from his older brother all evening, and then until half past midnight he ate and distributed it to his family.

It turned out to be a difficult task, I even regretted that for the first time I decided to make it so big. And now I also know that you can safely do it a few days before Christmas, while it does not get stale, but only becomes tastier.
She did not decorate it quite as carefully as she wanted, she did not have enough energy and time, but the child liked it, especially the light in the windows. Only a puncture with caramel. While the house was standing, it slowly melted, and in the end there were only icing frames without glass

I liked the roof very much !!! Looks like natural snow !!! Clever girl!

Maxal!
Very nice! And the light is super! And I made windows from marmalade - they stand like relatives. I looked at Gerda's (who is from Samovars) on her personal website how they stick. I glued them on chocolate, like the whole house - when you draw frames and bindings with icing, all the joints are closed - it turns out neatly.
Pinkie Pie
Hello everyone!
I am posting a photo of my first house, which I barely managed to make by the Old New Year (on December 31, my hands just did not reach). Do not judge strictly

Dear friends! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! I wish you all light and warmth in your families, many new delicious and beautiful culinary masterpieces!

My gingerbread houses. I made 7 of them this year, big ones. Feat.

Gingerbread house red with Christmas deer Rudolph

MM mastic, purchased "Ukrasa" and "Alta Topdecor". In some places, marzipan. Glass of windows and doors from caramel and isomalt. The snow on the visor of the door and the icicles are made of icing. But in a hurry I forgot to glue the fish soup to poor Rudolph. So without ears and photographed. Then, however, at the very last moment before leaving the house, I still pushed my ears into place.
The gingerbread itself according to Larisa Volnitskaya's recipe is a very successful and tasty recipe. Started baking houses and cookies on December 10th. Stored in boxes. Now ripe, incredibly tasty and not at all stale.
