I propose to consider another ironing device - an ironing press. It allows you to iron with or without steam, has a compact size, but larger than the iron. I did not use those that are now on sale, but when I worked in the production of clothes, the press was not replaceable. Since the press will not press a single iron!

Oversized items are ironed in much the same way as on an ironing board, that is, by moving. I agree that the press will not replace the iron at all, but it will be a great addition. Personally, I will definitely buy it myself. I can iron anything, but not bed linen, tablecloths, curtains and the like.
Chantal
the girlfriend has the simplest domestic press, she folds it in several layers - everything is steamed perfectly, and then smoothes the folds if necessary (on the bed, for example, this is optional)

Hello!!!
Ironing press owners, can you please share your impressions of the appliance? Does it make sense to buy?
Actually, I don't fully understand how to use it. If I want to iron the duvet cover even if I fold it, how to iron the middle? there is also a jumper between the top and bottom boards ... how to drag the laundry?
volvox
They didn’t answer me ... but I bought this Domen ironing press with a steam generator, and I’m very happy, I found instructions on how to iron different things. A lot of time is saved, and even more physical costs. Sheets, towels, in general, straight things are ironed perfectly. Sophisticated clothes are quicker to iron.

Size 68 * 28, weighs 11 kg. I put it on the ironing board. Not this little press, otherwise it makes no sense.

Do you pull this weight back and forth every time? Where do you store it? Nearby on the floor, or are you taking it somewhere?

If it's not a secret, how much does such an ironing machine cost in our time? In our city there are no modern models at all.
volvox
if with a steam generator, then - Chinese - 8-10 thousand rubles, I bought Domena - French assembly - 14 thousand rubles, this previous model, newer models from 20 to 27 thousand rubles. I was told that for domestic use, they are completely unnecessary.
lyubochka
volvox, hello! The ironing press also interested me, and how is it? You have it for a year now, what can you say about it now, does it make ironing easier? How many layers does it iron? Describe the principle of operation.
lyubochka
Thank you! How it works, write how to use it? For example, should the sheet be folded several times and under the press? This is how the roller in "Kalinka" advances the linen, I know, but here I have no idea. Technology has stepped forward and I would like to facilitate our female labor, we do not have in stores to see how to work with it.
volvox
Yes, the linen is folded several times, there is a place between the jumper of the ironing surfaces, you put the linen there, and then onto yourself. Not very wide things can be pulled along.

We have a simple PRESTER ironing press for a long time, excellent quality ..
Still, in the 21st century it is necessary to buy a press using a steamer.

I have such a prester. In my opinion, it's a useless thing in everyday life. It is convenient to iron only absolutely flat things in it: towels, sheets, duvet covers are already uncomfortable. For a few things it is not reasonable to keep this unit at home. I bought it, used it several times, now I only move it from place to place, while I'm angry at the pointlessness of the money spent.
And for me it became a discovery, which I use constantly with pleasure, an iron with a steam generator. Great thing! I have been using it for several years, if I have to change it sometime, I will only buy an iron with this principle of operation.

As the saying goes: to each his own ... someone likes to iron with an iron, someone with a press, someone with a steamer, and someone uses an ironing system or a steam generator ..

Good day! So I had to buy an Elnapress Opal ironing press, the old Kalinka ironing machine broke down, but "thanks to her old lady", it served, how many diapers I ironed! I liked ironing very much, quickly, one might say "playfully". The instruction is in Russian, everything is clear without it, ironing, pressing well, in 6-8 layers, comfortable. There is a humidifier filled with plain water. You can straighten your underwear with your hands, Ironing pressHere is such Ironing press

Now all the press are basically the same. I personally chose MIE Romeo II

I liked the guarantee. 3 years is approx.

Anyone interested - I recommend watching the video.

PPKS ..... the same garbage ....., gathering dust under the bed ...., it is convenient to iron only flat linen and towels ...., and I bought Elnapress Opal, not cheap ...., for me too ONLY an iron with a steam generator is an irreplaceable thing ...

I also have an iron with a steam generator and I adore it, I used to hate ironing bedclothes, but now it's twice

In general, you can iron anything with a press. True, you don't learn this right away. So I wrote earlier that I have a Mie Romeo - after six months I even ironed pants and shirts for them.
Vafelka
Oh, and I can't even imagine without a press how I used to iron. All bed linen, towels, T-shirts, T-shirts are only on it. And after it there is no fatigue from ironing at all and your hands do not get tired. I love my assistant very much. I have Domena
Angelica77
Yes, the iron is already yesterday. For if I stood and ironed baby things as it should be, on both sides and with an iron, it would have taken me the whole day. And certainly figs would get enough sleep.
In general, I begged my husband for an ironing press, like in a sewing machine, but smaller in size - MIE Romeo V. And now catch a life hack: we put five body pieces in a pile. Two such piles are placed on the press. Klats - and that's it, ironed-steamed. Husband's shirts in about the same way. Yes, and almost for the first time in my life I have ironed bedding.
It costs, of course, not on a budget. And it takes up space ... in general, you can't put it in a single room. But how great is it - put it down, closed it, opened it, and that's it, unfold it.
* Tanya *
Angelica, have you tried ironing your blouse-shirts? Or not an option at all? The press also caught fire with the purchase, but negative reviews confuse.

Here !! All witnesses! Now you will answer !!!
Look at the warranty, if there are any rusty drops, etc., if there are consumables, how to store compactly.
If with steam, then the pressure is not less than 5, I think. What kind of water can I fill in, I'm not ready to drink distilled water yet!
Oh, such a rise in my soul!

I have a Swiss elna press and I don't remember how many years, but 10-15 years for sure. I hate ironing all my life, but it's not high to sleep on non-ironed linen, so my husband solved this problem for me in due time.
You can iron everything on the press, including shirts, trousers, frills. I have three children, two boys and a daughter (already, thank God, adults), at school all the years I had a school uniform, that is, suits with shirts, my husband has an office style ... that is, in a week I was going to 10-20 shirts and blouses. Only the press helped out. having mastered the ironing technology once, then everything goes automatically, quickly and effortlessly. When everyone finished school, I breathed a sigh of relief, T-shirts and jumpers are more pleasant to iron.
Since I don't like ironing, I do it once every 2-3 weeks (now) and takes about 30-40 minutes. Of course, I have an iron and a good enough one, but ironing it, mostly my daughter, when she urgently needs something. Now, in addition, I have a steam generator, it solves many issues - jackets, sweaters, thin blouses, easier.
The press has a very convenient sprinkler, and the water does not heat up like in an iron, so there is no problem of scale and cleaning.
There is a press at the wall below, when I need to put it on an ironing board, it can be on any table, now there are special tables for ironing presses, when I bought them, there was no trace of them. I didn't have any problems with any repairs, I only changed the spray bottle 2 times - once the children spun everything up, dropped it the second time. I also changed the cover with a backing a couple of times, everything was sold. For all the years, I have never regretted the purchase, and the price then for us was-oh-oh!
So, look into the stores of sewing tricks, touch all sorts of different ironing presses with your own handles - and maybe someone else will be happy!

What kind of water can I fill in, I'm not ready to drink distilled water yet!
Well, they don't pour distilled water into the irons, but why come here? I pour drinking bottled water into the iron. Just look at the hardness: 6-7 is a lot. I pour "Kalinov Spring" into the coffee machine - the hardness is not more than 4, but somehow I came across water in general with one. The nursery, in my opinion, is some kind of ... I'm leading to something ... I used to use Chernogolovka, hardness 7, Duc from time to time the iron began to spit scale. Then I cleaned it, I don’t remember what, and began to pour water no harder than 4, that's all, since then no scale has been observed. The question is: why do you need distilled?

I really like Elna 720, it has a built-in spray gun! As I saw, I lost my peace and sleep, but today I saw the press with steam and got shocked ... Now I’m straight and I don’t know what to think ...

Natasha, and how do you like it very much? Convenient to use?

I have been using it for 8 years. Constantly. I iron my linen only in it. I have a Philips steam generator, but I only pick it up for the things I’m wearing right now. I do not iron in advance jumpers, shirts for my husband and other "complicated" things "on the way out." All bed linen, underwear (T-shirts, by the way, underwear and T-shirts - a million altogether), kitchen and bath towels, tablecloths - only in the ironer. Moreover, I usually fold at least in half at once))). But here the volumes must be taken into account: 5 people, three of whom are children (pigs, in short))).

Len, this is really big crap. With me, it doesn't go anywhere at all. only folds a little more compactly. In my opinion, there is no place for him in the apartment at all. I have a whole utility room (I can just hear how you just called me a potbelly stove!))), There the trowel stands in a permanent place.
