Gratin "The Temptation of Jansson"

Graten Jansson's Temptation

Ingredients

Potatoes 0,8kg
anchovies 1 can 50g
medium onion 2 pcs
garlic 2 teeth
cream 20% 0,5l
milk 0.15L
breadcrumbs 75g
freshly ground black pepper
salt
butter 30g
butter for coating the mold

Cooking method

  • Cut the peeled potatoes into thin rounds. Peel the onion and cut into half rings thinly. Chop the anchovies. Finely chop the garlic.
  • Preheat oven to 190 degrees.
  • Simmer onions, garlic and anchovies in butter in a frying pan for 8-10 minutes. Grease a baking dish generously with butter and lay out in layers: potatoes, onion mixture, and so on in several layers. Add a little salt to each layer of potatoes. I got three layers of potatoes and two onions. Mix the cream with milk and pour over the potatoes so that they are completely covered with the mixture, sprinkle evenly with breadcrumbs on top. Cover with foil and place in oven for 45 minutes. Then remove the foil and put the gratin in the oven for another 20 minutes, so that the creamy mixture decreases in volume and thickens.
  • Delicious.

Note

The husband searched in vain for fish. Oh, how loudly said. And there were 50 g of anchovies, which gave the potatoes an indescribable delicate taste and aroma.
