I was presented with a set of SWISS ZURICH kitchenware in a beautiful large package. In a set of 18 items - 3 pots with lids, a saucepan, a deep frying pan, a double boiler, a bowl, a plastic lid, a deep fat net and 2 hot coasters. Thermal sensors are built into the handles of the lids.

Cookware set Swiss Zurich (Swiss Home)

To my sophisticated opinion, the dishes look expensive, soundly, not magnetic (only a heavy thick bottom is magnetic).
I am very interested in whether anyone has used such utensils, how they are in cooking, how high-quality. Can it be used without fat for frying, as stated in the brochure?
I will not discuss the method of selling it, they write a lot about it.
I don't care how much it really costs, although I know how much it was bought for.
I'm interested in real consumer reviews of just such dishes. I would be grateful to everyone for the answers.

In Russia this tableware is called SWISS HOME.

svetta, looks like an analogue of the Zepter ...
Such an interesting dish, and you are right, does not look cheap. I wish you culinary success in it !!!
Svetta
Olya, I read that too. BUT they sell it at a price of 800 UAH. and higher. And the most interesting thing is HOW they sell it!!!
It is the way of selling that worries me. Therefore, I ask for reviews of real consumers of these dishes.

Oh yes, I was alarmed too!
I will follow your topic.

"To my sophisticated opinion, the dishes look expensive, soundly, not magnetic (only a heavy thick bottom is magnetic)."
Well, there are a lot of such dishes (under many brands a la Europe), including the well-known Millerhaus, Royal, Frank Muller, and you can't count them all (for almost every new batch, dish importers come up with a new trademark). Now this is supposedly Germany, then Switzerland, then some other European country. At the bottom of the SWISS ZURICH pans, complete nonsense dishes from Switzerland are stamped, and at the bottom .... Solingen. In Russia there is an importer company, and it is sold (exclusively in sets) by various dubious and shady personalities who disguise themselves as foreigners. They tell about the same story about the fact that they are coming from some mythical exhibition and do not want to take back the dishes and are ready to sell them literally for a symbolic price. On the packing box, as a rule, a price of several thousand euros is printed, there are no details of the manufacturer and a barcode. The fact that the container does not stick to the magnet does not say anything at all about the specific steel grade from which it is actually made. Most of these pans are made of 201 steel, in the "thick" bottom, instead of the relying aluminum, a massive plate of black steel is hidden, which gives the "impressive" weight to the product. The mirror polish of the inner surface of the bottom of the pan makes it unsuitable for the normal frying process (everything sticks to the surface) and even "purples" will not help. The so-called "temperature sensors" imitating the appearance of Zepter dishes quickly crumble, hidden polishing defects appear at the bottom of the pots, but otherwise ordinary Chinese dishes, which only outwardly resemble Zepter, but this is not an analogue at all, but an ordinary fake imitation. Riveted handles (this is how the Chinese usually do when they cannot weld qualitatively on a container with a wall thickness of less than 0.6 mm.) For the sake of interest, google and see compare the picture at the bottom of the above brands (there are a lot of them on the Internet) and you will immediately see that they differ only in the text inside the same pattern. The real price of such a set, taking into account transportation from China and customs duties, does not exceed 50 USD. for actually a 5-subject set with a steamer and additional. a bunch of cheap metal and plastic crap with a soldered bottom (not any 9 layers in the bottom and in sight, and why are they needed?)

Mr. Catlery, your opus is not new to me, I understand perfectly well that it is a fake. Dad gave me the dishes (well, that's what happened with him), so I have to use the dishes. Therefore, I ask REAL reviews about the operation of REAL people. By the way, I really liked the frying pan, although not ideal.
If you PERSONALLY used such utensils, then tell us how it continues to be used.
mr.Catlery
Well, "opus" to call what I wrote is somehow not entirely appropriate. I have enough normal quality cookware made from 304 steel at home, especially since I have been doing cookware for many years. Therefore, I personally do not see any point in experimenting with such a "Switzerland" and family health. Moreover, I described above what will happen to her next (you probably haven't read it). I think, in a couple or three years, buy yourself a normal one, and this one will go to the dacha, I will notice that all this is absolutely REAL.

Svetlana, I have this, well, maybe a slightly different name, but I think from this series. My husband brought for the New Year 6-7 years ago (I don't remember exactly), they brought them to the office, they took everything and he decided to take it, very beautiful, I have metal lids, the set is exactly the same, in use, normal, my frying pan is made with grooves like a grill, nothing fell off, the external and internal appearance as it was and remained, as new, I was happy with the dishes until I read Mr. Catlery and found

Stainless steel 202 and 201
Due to the high price of nickel, some manufacturers use 202 and 201 stainless steels instead of 304 austenitic steel. In these grades, nickel is partially replaced by manganese. 202 and 201 stainless steel cookware is often sold as 18/10. So the so-called medical steel is not a sign of elite European tableware. In fact, steels 202 and 201 are used to make cheap and not very high-quality dishes, as well as fittings and kitchen utensils that are not used on the stove: bowls, colanders, spoons, forks, etc.

I looked, at the bottom it costs 18/10, but there are a lot of the same dishes in stores, you can also buy this quality, probably you need to cook and pour (I have, however, not a word about the zepter at the bottom)
Svetta
thanks for the story mr.Catlery and for the review Lyuba 1955... You won't be able to check the grade of steel by touch, by eye, by tooth, by stink. Therefore, I will use it as long as I can, all the more so my dad is very jealous of its use (of course, I’ve paid that kind of money).

Do not worry about this, in fact, there is nothing extra terrible in this dish. It is quite possible that you will even make friends with her. I just gave a comment so that others do not fall for the bait of crooks who distribute these "analogs".

Unfortunately, those who fall for the bait do not read on the internet about this method of "selling", well, that's how my dad is.

Yeah, and how my grandparents ... I don't even know how much they paid for this dish, they won't admit it to me.
My dishes are exactly the same, only there are more items, and the name is different - Millerhaus. But the appearance is one to one with yours. I have been actively using it for 5-6 years, the metal looks good, I don't see the slightest corrosion anywhere. So far nothing has fallen off. Food is cooked normally in these saucepans.
Although I personally don't like the design and bulkiness of this dish, I can't say anything bad about it. The only thing is that the bakelite bottom of the handles must be protected from overheating, it can be deformed (I am not talking about the opposite smell from overheated handles).
Conclusion: I would not buy such dishes myself, but since I already have them, then it is quite possible to use them.

I already wrote about this at the beginning of part 2 of the topic about utensils for cooking. I was also interested in the same questions as you - the quality of the metal, and whether we will eat something harmful from these pots. Thank you mr.Catlery, he partially reassured me on this score.

Then I studied a lot of information about the dishes, I wanted to change these pots for new ones. But in the end I came to the disappointing conclusion that, in general, Ukraine does not have good quality stainless steel dishes at an adequate price. But there is a lot of pathos and lies about this very dish, in particular, about the producing countries behind which China, China and again China are hiding.

And I don't see the point of changing the awl for soap, that's why I use what I have.

Svetta, what exactly did you like the frying pan? What is convenient for you to cook in it?
It's just that out of the whole set, this is the only item that I have pushed into the mezzanine idle. I do not like the long, bulky handle in it, besides, it is impossible to fry anything in this frying pan, it is terribly "sticky". All that can be done in it is only to stew, but for this you can do with pots.
So, I think, maybe you found some other use for it, which I did not think of. That's why she asked.

In a frying pan, the long handle somehow does not bother me. You can fry it normally, just heat it well. But I fry in it a little, we are on semi-dietary food. And for frying, I have smaller pans. Yes, stewing with a small amount of liquid in it turns out super, it is inconvenient to stir in a saucepan. Well, I don't know, I often use it.

And my parents gave me the same dishes. When I saw her, it became ill, such money was piled off for what I did not need. So it is in the box, waiting in the wings, I also wanted to find out on the forum what kind of dishes it is, it's good that I'm not the only one. And even more so, I'm so used to cooking everything in my technique, I can't even imagine how they cook in ordinary pots.

I have had an almost similar set of Begofov cookware for many years. Quite heavy pots, comfortable handles. The sensors on the lids flew almost immediately, indicating the temperature. Found in the store and replaced them with all-metal ones. But this was almost my only complaint about this dish. Now these are the only pots that I use besides the multicooker and so on. I also like the frying pan and I cook in it from time to time. during this time she changed two Tefalevski pans, two with a ceramic coating, and this one worked as it did. Only after washing it should be held a little with oil on the fire, so that later nothing will stick, and that's it. So my long-standing investment of money (and once there was a decent amount), has fully justified itself. Yes, when buying, I gave up the mesh deep fryer, I have an electric deep fryer, sometimes I regretted it. It is convenient to cook pasta, dumplings, etc. and take it out all at once. Then I bought myself a similar folding one. The bowls are comfortable, although I use them without lids. The steamer, despite the presence of an electric steamer, is sometimes convenient for a small amount of food and you do not need to take out an electric steamer. Entirely in several tiers, I don't use it now. at first I played it and that's it.

I stumbled upon the topic by accident. A few years ago, someone also "helped" my mom with this dish in the same huge cardboard box. The dishes are heavy, they look not cheap .. But now I understand that this is just a fake. When I started making cakes, I remembered this "treasure" of dishes and decided to take for myself a dipper with a thick bottom (7 layers!), Syrups, bases for creams and various coolies, it is very convenient to cook Kurds! The handle does not heat up, washes easily, does not burn. Well, so, I decided to look on the Internet, what kind of dishes it is. It turns out that the original of these dishes should be sold in a chest with a combination lock (by the way, I have a suitcase with cutlery and knives with such a combination lock, also a German company ...)
There are also very bad fakes of such dishes that it is impossible to use it at all. But there are also good fakes - let's hope that you and I (my mother) have come across quite good ones .. It is very convenient to use a double boiler. Do not use a frying pan.
Svetta
Yasmina, I use all pots and pans. The steamer is not in use, because I have a Brown steamer. Unfortunately, the bottom of the frying pan has slightly bulged inside over time, the oil now flows to the edges. Therefore, I use it for extinguishing.
And so I am happy with the dishes, I like that the bottom is even, I have electro glass ceramics.
