Cabbage "Provencal"

Provencal cabbage

Ingredients

cabbage 2kg
carrot 1 PC.
hot pepper 1 PC.
garlic (optional)
Marinade
water 1st
salt 3h l.
sugar 0.5st
sunflower oil 1st (as small as possible)
vinegar 100g (also possible less)

Cooking method

  • I want to say right away that there are already several Provencal recipes on the site. But I dare to offer you one more. The recipe once (very, very long ago), my sister gave me.
  • Chop the cabbage, add grated carrots.
  • Cut hot peppers into thin strips. Add to cabbage. Mix everything until evenly distributed.
  • Do not fold tightly into the jar.
  • To cook marinade
  • To do this, add sugar, salt, butter to the water - boil. After boiling, add vinegar (I use apple cider). Pour over the cabbage. Close the lid and leave for at least 5 hours.
  • Over time, the cabbage is ready.
  • Store the finished cabbage in the refrigerator.

Note

In the original recipe, the usual 9% vinegar is added. But it is quite possible to replace it with apple. I also tried grape, but personally, I didn't really like the taste.
