Cooking method

  • I want to share a new kind of fungus cookies. I wanted to make the cake with ready-made chanterelles, but how abruptly they appeared on our market, they disappeared just as quickly, and a lot of time was spent looking for it. Arriving home, I had to quickly take my head in my hands (by analogy "hands to feet") and quickly reinvent the wheel. In my life I have made a lot of different mushrooms, mushrooms, champignons. oil, but the need forced to invent something new. I found an old recipe from 1975, published in the magazine "Family and School" and decided to rely on it. I really love the mushroom theme. And this year was extremely rich in mushrooms. My husband and I collected 4 buckets of porcini mushrooms, not counting other varieties. I have never seen anything like this. They inspired me with the shape of the cookies, which were used as decoration on the cake. I wanted something large-scale, catchy, like a white mushroom in the forest.
  • Mix the yolks with sugar, add melted margarine, sour cream and flour with baking powder. Given the different quality of margarine, sour cream, the amount of flour may fluctuate slightly. The dough should be comfortable enough for sculpting. This is his main criterion.
  • The hat must be made taking into account the fact that the dough will blur during the baking process, and if you make the hat immediately of the required shape, then we will just get a pancake. Therefore, we make a cylinder, form the top with a cone

  • Do not press in the middle, it is easier to cut a hole for the leg after baking.

  • Taking into account the increase, we sculpt the leg.

  • When baking, we monitor the temperature in the oven. There should be no hats or legs ruddy. We baked it. Cut out and in the hat there was a hole under the leg, dripped with thick syrup or chocolate and glued the leg to the hat.

  • Hats can be dipped in melted chocolate or dyed and added shine (honey + vodka) I have colored dyes based on natural products (beetroot cherry, saffron yellow, spinach green, burnt brown, etc.)
  • I must say that cookies have been a success as a decoration. Therefore, I ventured to share my experience with you. After all, the mushroom theme arises every autumn and an extra kind of mushrooms will not hurt.

Valya! They are as alive and fresh from the forest !!!!! My husband's grandmother made mushrooms very similar, she died, and I rummaged through all her notes, but I never found the recipe! And now your recipe can be safely taken as a basis! Thank you!

This year I had the opportunity to see enough of the original. !!!! I've never seen so many porcini mushrooms
Husky
Exactly!! Just like alive !! Valya, did you tint the white color at the leg too?
valvery
No! I just baked it carefully so it wouldn't brown. Well, the flash slightly distorted the color. The legs at the bottom were brushed with brown paint for naturalness.

I immediately remembered my childhood. Mom used to bake these mushrooms for my birthday. A hat in chocolate, legs in whipped with sugar, and poppy below, like earth. Thank you. And the recipe is bookmarked! For some reason, my mother no longer remembers how she cooked, but there are no records. Thank you!
