Ingredients

Frozen scallops 400 g
refined olive oil 2 tbsp. l
lemon, salt, pepper

Cooking method

  • Defrost the scallops directly in the package in the refrigerator for 5-6 hours or under running very cold water. Remove from packaging, dry with paper towels, put in a bowl, add oil and stir. Let stand until the grill pan is heating up. If you are not very confident in your pan, then you can grease it a little with oil. Put the scallops in a well-heated frying pan at a short distance from each other, fry on each side for no more than 1 minute (small ones are even less). Put on a plate, season with salt and pepper, serve with lemon wedges.

So simple, but with this method of preparation, scallops do not lose their tenderness and aroma. A very sophisticated dish that goes well with a well chilled Pinot Grigio.

How many dishes can you make with scallop? Two, three, five, ten? No, much more! Vegetable salads with the addition of boiled scallop meat are distinguished by their high taste.
A scallop with mayonnaise or aspic is a delicacy dish that can be used for a festive table.
It is good to cook a scallop fried or stewed with various sauces: tomato, onion, red and others.
Scallop meat goes on sale frozen, and before preparing the dish, the meat is thawed, for which they put it in a saucepan of water and leave at room temperature for 2-3 hours, then rinse well in cold water.
For cooking, scallop meat is used both raw and boiled.
For boiling the prepared scallop meat is placed in boiling salted water (1-2 teaspoons of salt per 1 liter of water), pepper, roots - carrots, parsley or celery are added and boiled for 10 minutes. With this method of cooking, the high taste qualities of scallop meat are almost completely preserved. After cooling, boiled scallop meat is disassembled into fibers or cut into thin slices, sticks or pieces of another shape, depending on the nature of the dish.
