Sauerkraut stewed with dry mushrooms in a Philips HD3036 multicooker

Ingredients

Sauerkraut 1 kg
dry mushrooms 30-40g
large onions 1 PC
vegetable oil
sugar taste

Cooking method

  • Put dry mushrooms (I have porcini) in a glass bowl, add water and put in a microwave oven at full power for 8-10 minutes. Pour the broth into a cup, rinse the mushrooms thoroughly and, if necessary, chop coarsely.
  • Pour boiling water over the cabbage. After about five minutes, drain the water, squeeze out the cabbage.
  • Chop the onion as you like and fry in a multicooker bowl in vegetable oil, add mushrooms, salt and fry for another 10 minutes. Add cabbage, for sweeter lovers, you can sprinkle with sugar, pour half a glass of mushroom broth, mix well, turn on the Pilaf program. Cooking cabbage will take longer than usual, because there is a lot of liquid: both the broth and the cabbage will release juice. But a decoction of porcini mushrooms gives such a taste and aroma that it is worth squeezing longer than usual.
