Herculean pancakes with kefir

Ingredients

Long-boiled hercules flakes 2 glasses (250 ml)
kefir, yogurt 500 ml
wheat flour 100-120 g
eggs 2 pcs
salt, sugar taste
raisins, dried fruits optional

Cooking method

  • Product comments:
  • Hercules should be taken one that is cooked for a long time. I do not recommend quick rolled oats, the pancakes will be tasteless and then a lot of flour will be required for the dough.
  • It is better to take old kefir and curdled milk, intended for "disposal". In the test on fresh kefir, the sour taste of kefir will be felt, and it does not rise so actively.
  • Rinse the raisins in hot water and add to the finished dough, first steam the other dried fruits a little in hot water, then chop finely.
  • Put the rolled oats in a bowl overnight, fill with kefir (yogurt), mix well, close the lid and leave in this form until morning.
  • In the morning, add salt, sugar, eggs, flour to a bowl. First add 100 gr. flour, there will be little - then a little more. Mix everything well. At the end, add dried fruits, mix again. That's it, the dough is ready.
  • The consistency of the dough is like thick sour cream.
  • Preheat a frying pan and spread the dough on it with a spoon. Fry on both sides until tender.

P.S. When you stir the rolled oats infused with kefir in the morning, pay attention to how this mixture bubbles a little and bounces when mixing. Well, just a ready-made sourdough dough for the dough. Hercules is oats, plus old kefir, in the end we got lactic sourdough.

Let's sort out cereals and grains

Herculean grains do not exist. There is whole oat grain. You can't make pancakes out of it, since you first need to cook it for 1.5-2 hours in a slow cooker. We get a porridge from which you can make a dough for pancakes.

Herculean flakes are of two types, mainly - long and fast cooking.

Quick-cooking flakes are really enough to cover with hot water and ready. But we don't need these - we will get a mess (porridge) and they fall apart when frying, which means we need to add a lot of flour, which we do not want to do. According to the recipe - there is no flour in the pancakes.

Long-boiled flakes must be prepared for some time in water or milk to steam, in their usual form they are harsh.
So we need these Herculean flakes - the package says to cook for 20 minutes.
This is long-lasting hercules. For the pancakes according to this recipe - the very thing!
You don't need to add flour, the most natural herculean pancakes!

I baked herculean pancakes this morning, but instead of kefir I had to dispose of drinking yogurt. Since I was afraid that it would not turn sour overnight, I immediately added 2 tbsp. l. MK-starters. In the morning everything was already bubbling well. The pancakes came out right! The pink color is from yogurt.

I just did not quite understand the recipe, you need to take two glasses of cereal, or all you need is that the volume is 250 ml, I made 250 ml of cereal for 500 ml of kefir, it was very thick for me in the morning, if I took two glasses of 250 ml, I probably would not interfere with a spoon at all. So I think how it was necessary to do it right.

Old or fresh kefir is reflected in the taste. With fresh kefir, the taste will be slightly sour. See which option suits you best
