Useful properties of lingonberry and Ivan tea.

"Lingonberry" tea restores strength well and relieves fatigue. Lingonberry berries are used for pulmonary tuberculosis, stomach catarrh, kidney stones, as a vitamin and anti-putrefactive agent.

Lingonberry juice sharpens vision, is very useful for neuroses and anemia.

Lingonberry itself is primarily valuable for its rich content of essential vitamins: A, B, C, E. It also contains carbohydrates, carotene, tannins and organic acids important for the body (citric, salicylic, malic). Lingonberry is also rich in useful minerals: calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium and manganese.

Lingonberry is an excellent helper in coronary heart disease due to the content of copper, chromium and mineral salts in its berries. Since ischemia mainly affects the older generation, its presence in the diet is simply necessary for older people.Since lingonberry helps lower glucose levels, it may be recommended for people with high blood sugar.

Lingonberry juice can also be useful for pregnant women - it is taken for anemia and neuroses.

If you have a pronounced low acidity, then lingonberry juice will be very useful, as it affects the intestinal motility.

The use of lingonberry berries and lingonberry juice is recommended for hypo - and vitamin deficiencies, gastritis with low acidity of gastric juice, with high blood pressure. Infusions and decoctions of berries and leaves of lingonberry are used as a diuretic, astringent and antiseptic.

A decoction of lingonberry berries quenches thirst well in case of fever. Lingonberry juice is drunk with neuroses and anemia. With rheumatism, hypertension, lingonberry has an anti-sclerotic effect, strengthens the walls of blood vessels.

Despite its beneficial properties, lingonberry is still contraindicated in some cases. Berries are not recommended for use with stomach ulcers and gastritis with increased acidity. Among other things, the berries have a thinning property, so they are forbidden to be consumed by people after surgery or with internal bleeding.

The narrow-leaved fireweed from the fireweed family has quite a few names. I will list some of them: narrow-leaved ivan tea, narrow-leaved hamernol, Koporsky tea, Kuril tea, plakun, wild hemp, wild flax, borax potion, weidente, voitun and others.

Almost the entire plant has healing properties: roots, stems, leaves, flowers.

In folk medicine, fireweed is considered an anticancer plant. Rhizomes in Tibetan medicine are used for syphilis and gonorrhea, in our country for constipation, leucorrhoea, headache, as an astringent, emollient, enveloping and wound-healing agent.

The aerial parts of Tibetan medicine are used as a sleeping pill, a remedy for headaches, for smallpox, as an antipyretic, for scrufulez.

In Mongolia, the underground parts are prescribed for gastric ulcer disease, as an anti-inflammatory agent for gastritis and colitis.

In folk medicine, decoction and infusion are used as an anti-inflammatory, astringent, emollient, diaphoretic, for gastrointestinal diseases, colitis, gastritis, stomach and intestinal ulcers, disorders of substance deception, anemia, headache, scrofula, insomnia as stimulating cardiac activity, with scurvy, gonorrhea, syphilis, menorrhagia.

Externally used for the healing of ulcers, in the form of a poultice to the analgesic for otitis media, bruises, arthalgia.

Powdered for the treatment of infected wounds.

Leaves and flowers of Ivan tea have long been used in Mongolian medicine for diarrhea, dysentery, catarrhal conditions of the stomach and intestines; in the form of collection - in case of poisoning as an emetic, as well as in traumatic injuries of the intestine and stomach.

In folk medicine, an infusion and a decoction from it are used as a sedative, enveloping, wound-healing agent, for constipation, leucorrhoea, C-avitaminosis, in dentistry.
Fresh and dry leaves (powder) are used as a wound healing agent, for frostbite, in the form of a poultice - as a pain reliever for inflammation of the ear, throat and nose.

In early spring, young shoots and leaves are good for use in salads, soups, stews, mashed potatoes, as a seasoning for meat dishes and broths.

In the Caucasus, sweet rhizomes containing starches and sugar and root processes with young stems are consumed raw; in boiled form - instead of asparagus and cabbage, in the form of flour from dried roots - for baking bread, pancakes, flat cakes. The roasted roots are used to make a coffee substitute.
The dried tops of the stems with young leaves are used instead of tea (Koporye tea), which contains 3 times more vitamin C than an orange. The color of the tea turns out to be dark brown, almost black.

No contraindications were found for use.

how to replace Ivan-tea?
Some other herb .. mint, oregano, green tea, finally. I think the peoples of the Far North will not be offended.
Florichka
Great recipe! Especially valuable for me is that I have a fermented Ivan-tea made by hand. They taught me last year.
Omela
Florichka, How interesting. Can you share where you collect and how you ferment?
Florichka
I will gladly share. Collected in the spring of other flowering in the forests near Moscow in the meadows. Tops, big package. At home, it all withers in one layer for 2-3 hours. Then a handful of small leaves are taken and rolled between the palms until the juice appears. So the whole serving. Then I did this. Heated the oven to 50 grams, turned it off and put a pan with prepared raw materials there for 2 hours for two hours. I repeated this three times. Each time I took it out, heated it, turned it off and put it on. The smell of prunes is coming. Then everything is finely cut and dried in a dryer or in the air, cover with a cloth. Dries well. Put in a jar, ready in a month. I made three liter cans. Such a scent is just a miracle. Another useful thing. If a lot of leaves are collected, they can be divided into bags and shoved into the freezer, without even drying, fresh, and then taken out and made. And when flowers appear, they are dried separately and added during brewing, they open very beautifully. Try it, I liked it, now I will do it every year.
Omela
Irina, thank you very much!! I understand that by this method any herb can be fermented ?? Mint, for example. And I don't even know about Ivan-tea, I have never seen him alive ... I may not recognize him when we meet.
Florichka
Someone did it from raspberry leaves, currants, but not so interesting. Yes, you Ivan-chai, of course, you know. It grows everywhere in the forest and in the field.
Omela
Yes, I know, but I didn't know it was him.
