Cooking method

  • Very tasty and can be prepared for the arrival of guests.
  • Cut fresh mackerel along the belly, remove all entrails, ridge and bones and spread it over the back (do not cut the back) to wash.
  • Sprinkle with salt, pepper, seasoning and refrigerate. Chop the onion and carrots very finely and fry in the FRYING program for 15 minutes. Take out the cut fish, put it skin side down, lay layers of onions, carrots, cheese, sprinkle with gelatin. Close with a second mackerel, but skin side up. Wrap the mackerel carefully in several layers in plastic wrap. Pierce the foil with a toothpick several times. Place the packaged mackerel in a bowl, add water to cover the bag, set the SOUP program for 40 minutes. At the end of the program, remove the bag and put it under pressure until it cools completely. We put it in the refrigerator. I removed the tape and put the mackerel in foil and put it in the refrigerator for several hours. Then chop the mackerel, sprinkle with green onions.

My recipe modification:
- do not fry onions with carrots
- depending on the mood I add a few slices of lemon (both fresh and candied fruit go well)
- I do not pierce the film
- at the end of cooking, I cool the fish a little in water. So it breaks less when removed
- I cool the pulled out fish on a plate and, without unrolling the film, pressing it with oppression, I send it to the refrigerator for several hours (ideally overnight).
- if the cartoon is busy, then the fish is successfully cooked on the stove in a spatula
It turns out a magic fish in jelly. For those who do not eat smoked - a good alternative to hot smoked mackerel.
