Self-cleaning dishes

Self-cleaning dishes

In Sweden, designers have created plates that can clean themselves. For the production of such plates, an innovative technology was used, which allows them to be resistant to water, and most importantly to dirt. The material for the new generation of crockery was created by Inventia, based on cellulose, and the coating for it was developed by employees of the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Overall, the cookware is very lightweight, yet incredibly durable. The cover mimics the surface of a lotus and allows leftover food to simply slide off your plate. “The coating repels water, dirt and oil in much the same way as a magnet, so you don't have to use additional cleaning agents,” says Hanna Billqvist, one of the company's designers. After a meal, all you need to do is tilt the specially coated plate over the trash can, and everything you don't need will be there. In addition to eliminating the drudgery and giving away such precious time, this technology is also beneficial for the environment: washing dishes requires thousands of gallons of water a year, and heating water consumes a lot of energy. In addition, the coating saves money - you no longer have to buy detergent. "This technology is designed to be free of chemicals and is as environmentally friendly as possible, as well as durable."
The project is currently in the final stages of development and the designers hope to complete it soon.

Self-cleaning dishes

If you start the household with a glop set of dishes created by the Spanish designer Berta Julià, then a large amount of all other kitchen utensils can be thrown away as unnecessary.

The set consists of five containers with a wide range of functions. At any given time, each item can be a cup, bottle, plate, bowl, salad bowl, or even a colander. The secret lies in the softness of the material that glop is made of. This is a silicone that allows you to change the shape of the dishes with one movement of your hands.

Specific shapes can be obtained by changing the main body of any item. By pressing on the edges of the cup, for example, the liquid can be more accurately directed to another vessel (throw out the funnel). The salad can be mixed simply by pinching the edges and shaking the plate. From it there is (the need for a salad bowl disappears by itself). Rinsing vegetables and fruits is also easy with only one item: pour water into a plate, seal the edges and shake (do we even need a colander).

About self-cleaning dishes. Will you eat from your plate if you know it hasn't been washed? Let it look clean, but the head knows that it is not. I would not
