Shirataki with stew in a slow cooker

Ingredients

Beef 500 g
shirataki 1 pack (340 gr)
onion 1 PC
spices to taste

Cooking method

  • I am addicted to healthy, low-calorie food, and who would have thought that it knows how to be delicious.
  • Cut the beef into pieces 2 * 2 cm, put them in a multicooker bowl in layers, sprinkling each layer with spices (I took salt, a mixture of peppers, a little paprika, mint and nutmeg) and chopped onions in half rings. I put it on the extinguishing mode for 2 hours. 10 minutes before the shirataki * was ready, she threw it in a colander, washed it with cold water and sent it to the meat in a cartoon, gently mixed it. In 10 minutes we have a delicious healthy dinner.
  • The family did not even realize that this was not ordinary spaghetti.

Note

* Shirataki is the secret of health, beauty and longevity, known in East Asia for over 2000 years. The product is part of the Japanese daily diet. This is not surprising, because among them there are practically no people suffering from overweight. Spaghetti Shirataki is obtained from cognac flour, produced using a technology similar to the production of ordinary wheat flour. Cognac or konjac (Amorphophallus konjac) is a perennial plant that is grown in the highlands where the earth and air are free of toxins. Cognac tubers resemble beets. From them cognac (konjac flour) is made - the basis for the production of Shirataki spaghetti. In turn, konjac flour is 100% dietary fiber (dietary fiber). It refers to nutrients like water, vitamins and minerals. Dietary fiber is recognized as an essential part of a healthy diet, an element that is essential for the normal functioning of the intestines. The use of fiber normalizes the functioning of the large intestine and stimulates the metabolism: a person loses weight, his immunity increases. Externally, Shirataki resembles rice noodles (white, slightly transparent spaghetti).
The indisputable advantage of Shirataki over any other pasta (as well as over any side dish) is its low calorie content.

What an interesting thing, just been in a Japanese grocery store and didn't notice! Where did you buy it?

Since the family did not even understand, I conclude that the taste of shirataki does not differ much from spaghetti. Very interesting to me. I'll look tomorrow! (I love pasta so much that I don't even need meat for them ...).

KaraHow great that the topic of shirataki is brought up. As far as I understood from the photo you have shirataki in a package in a "wet" form. I bought dry, packaging like ordinary spaghetti. But the question is - how to cook them correctly (on the packaging instructions are only in Japanese)? The first time I cooked for 10 minutes, in the end I got a "rubber" dish. The second time I cooked it for 3 minutes - the result is the same. Maybe they are and should be, and not like our usual spaghetti? Of course, I will be happy to try to apply the recipe you proposed and see the result.

Tatiana, I have never met it dry. Don't you confuse it with Chinese rice noodles (sold in green bags)? And the one in my picture should be boiled in boiling water for no more than 2 minutes. But since there is no 100 degrees when stewing in a multitude, I cooked in the broth that stood out from the meat for 10 minutes. It turned out the very thing! It tastes like regular spaghetti, but maybe not as dense.
