I saw such a piece of equipment in a local joint venture and decided to order it.
Microgreen sprinkler
Microgreen sprinkler
Microgreen sprinkler
A simple and convenient tool for growing microgreens. Compact and lightweight. Take him in in your kitchen or windowsill and enjoy the fresh herbs from your personal "garden" all year round!
When growing seeds in germinators, no soil is used, which makes the finished product absolutely pure and immediately ready to eat. Sowing microgreens at home can be done all year round.
The sprout consists of a tray with a lid and an embedded solid block of cells with different holes for seeds of different sizes. Up to six types of microgreens can be produced simultaneously.
Microgreen seeds are grown in a germinator. All you need is a container, water and seeds. You can use ordinary seeds, but not purchased ones, only your own or from your grandmother's garden
Instructions for growing microgreens:
• Rinse the seeds, cover with excess clean water and soak for 2 to 12 hours (depending on the type of seeds).
• Drain the water, rinse the seeds with a clean water.
• Fill the pan up to the level of the grate with clean water.
• Spread presoaked seeds and seeds over the grill surface.
• Cover the container with a lid and place in a warm, bright place.
• After seed germination, ventilate the seedlings daily by briefly removing the cover;
• Refresh water and monitor its level.
• Keep at room temperature and constant humidity.
• Arrange additional lighting when there is a lack of natural light.
• Microgreens are ready to eat with the first pair of leaves.
• After collecting herbs, clean and wash the container from the remaining roots.
Does anyone have any experience with this? It's very interesting to know what these greens taste like. Will we eat it if we consider that we love ordinary greens from the garden?

I have this for 2 years already. Initially, my mother bought for her nephew so that he studied how a plant appears from a seed, my sister refused)
I sowed a couple of times, seeds that are large, such as radishes, germinate normally, small ones get stuck in the cells - then you get tired of picking them out. Perhaps this is my laziness. The greens themselves are quite edible. I let her into salads in the spring.
Maybe you need to work out some kind of strategy, because you need to wait 2 weeks until it germinates, then you need to eat everything almost immediately ... you can plant squares one by one, although it's also difficult, because the roots in the water begin to plow after a couple of weeks, you need rinse it all out ... in general, I have left this venture for now, although there are a lot of seeds. Maybe someone figured out how to use it more rationally, listen, maybe I'll sow it again.
kat-rin-ka
Marina., did you buy special or ordinary seeds?
marina-asti
Kate, special seeds "Russian Garden". it seems to be written there - microgreen ... or something like that. I'll take a picture at home in the evening.

there is an assortment here 🔗

Does this thing need additional lighting? I grew celery on the windowsill for several winters. But they just dug it out of the garden in the fall and I planted it in a home pot. He lived until spring, but in early spring he seemed to be dying. Either he was tired of growing without interruption, or there was not enough light. But it was a common garden variety.
And what are the dimensions? He reminded me of a very cat potty.
marina-asti
Ol, I just had it on the windowsill, I didn't do any additional lighting.
Its dimensions:
Germinator "Factory of microgreens" - consists of a tray with a lid and a nested solid block of cells with different holes for seeds of different sizes. Up to six types of microgreens can be produced simultaneously.
Dimensions: length - 31.5 cm, width - 22.5 cm, height - 13 cm.

At one time, I also wanted to buy this one 🔗 , but somehow it didn't work out. It seems to me more comfortable, judging by the description. And so sometimes I want a sprouted wheat, but I can't do it on silver platters, it will dry up, then it will freeze ... So for now it is listed in Wishlist.
kat-rin-ka
Interestingly, will it be possible to germinate wheat in this germinator?
marina-asti
It seems to me that in an ordinary germinator from the start of the fast, wheat will not be able to germinate. or constantly monitor the water level ....
Today, in the open spaces of the Internet, I saw automatic ones - they might work out, they spray water dosed.
mur_myau
I have had a smart sprouter for two years now, I am very satisfied. Stinks nothing, easy to wash, store, carry with you.
Chamomile
As far as I understood, the sprouting grain is somewhat different. Perhaps a smart sprouter is for germination. And here we are talking about the growth of greens to the table, as I understand it.

smart sprouter
I went and looked, so it seemed to me that for the grains of such a plan there should be a germinator, there you can wash the grains. In ours, only greens from seeds to grow.
Vaneska
And share your experience who grows greens in winter in pots on the windowsill (like Ikeevsky). Which autumn I'm going to start and nothing.
Chamomile
But there is no experience. I read it myself, maybe someone will respond. I once asked in a topic about house plants, I was told that additional lighting is needed. Therefore, I did not dare to start. It is necessary to fence something on the windowsill.

I have an automatic Ves Electric V-GH 201 seed germinator at home, an automatic Vitasid seed germinator, and a plastic germinator, as in 1 post. We eat sprouts all the time, children also like them. I use automatic ones all the time, but it didn't work out with plastic ones. Some of the seeds germinated there, and some did not germinate, and even with a regular change of water began to stink. Therefore, the latter is gathering dust on the shelf. Ves is used most often, I use it to germinate large seeds - mung bean, any lentils, chickpeas, soybeans, wheat and rye. Small seeds fall down, for small seeds I bought Vitasid.

Ves works flawlessly, no complaints. Vitasid - at first it didn't work out for us either. I ordered through the online store, it took a month, came, and broke down in a day. The store came across a deeply decent one, I asked for a replacement, they sent me. The second one also worked incorrectly, turned on, twisted, twisted, and did not stop. And after wetting the seeds, he had to stop spinning and stand on top. Correspondence with the store again. I replaced the store with a third one - and it works to this day. First, I put it inside the partition, germinated different seeds.

And then I realized that it is more convenient for me without partitions. Stands in the dark at all. Because there is no place for him in the light, on the windowsills I have a year-round hydroponic farm - tomatoes, lettuce, strawberries. I germinate small seeds in vitasid - onions, cabbage, radishes, radishes, fenugreek, alfalfa, beets. This trifle, despite the lack of light, grows very well, if you hold it longer - it turns green as expected, or the burgundy color of beet seedlings. I like all the little things to taste. Even a radish, which I never eat as a root vegetable. Sometimes I add to salads with cucumbers and tomatoes (when they are).

We lived all winter in greenery + hydroponic salads. Of the large seedling seeds, my favorite is mung bean - it resembles fresh green peas. The youngest daughter loves them very much and calls them Cheburashkas. Eats constantly. Lentils are in second place for taste. On the third is rye. Rye vaguely resembles the taste of pine nuts. I didn’t like the soybeans, I didn’t get long white sprouts, and soon green leaves began to appear very quickly. Wheat comes last. I didn't like the nut. Masha took seeds in the USA and from Uzbeks in the market. American all the same size, larger, 100% germination. Uzbek small and some seeds do not germinate, you need to eat carefully - not germinated grain can be overlooked in a pile and break a tooth. (we didn't break). Chickpeas, soybeans were also taken from the market.

Small seeds were taken from the Russian online store - 70% of the purchased seeds did not come up. I appreciated the American mixture for the germinator - there is also 100% germination, and the consumption is small. Small seeds increase their mass by 6-10 times. If you add too much, you get a huge intertwined cylinder of greenery, you have to share it with your mom, otherwise we won't eat so much. We took seeds for germination in stores for people. That is, special bags for people for germination. The seeds from these bags did not germinate at all, except for a bag of rye. At the same time, I took the seeds of radish-siderate in the garden store, washed and germinated - the germination rate is 100%. The stored seeds from the American store, bought inexpensively before the crisis, will be enough for me for 2 years, perhaps.

Before buying automatic germinators, there was an epic with gauze and a sieve of large diameter, but this idea is not for the lazy - and water and change the water and move quickly, otherwise everything will be lost. I just disappeared, the water was rotten and the seeds were covered with mold. Recently I saw a Ves sprout clone for 2300. I was very surprised. Does anyone else need this?

In automatic germinators, the water is changed once a day. It is necessary to remove the seedlings in a clean container in the refrigerator in time so that they do not overgrow. They are stored for about a week in the refrigerator, then they slowly begin to disappear. But this happens very rarely with us, if there were 2 containers, and one was lying around in the refrigerator and forgot about it. I soak large seeds for 10-12 hours in a cup of water and only then pour them into the germinator. Small ones should also be soaked, but I don't, I'm too lazy. I fall asleep dry, in vitasid they themselves are wetted and germinate in 5-6 days. Large seeds, soaked overnight, if loaded into Ves in the morning, will become full-fledged seedlings in the evening.
They say that sprouts are very invigorating, and you don't need to eat them in the evening. I did not notice anything of the kind. Maybe because we regularly drink normal American multivitamins. But there is a benefit: they are sources of fiber, they contain active forms of enzymes, and a number of biologically active substances. For this we love them. And delicious !!!
And I think the rumors about rejuvenation are also exaggerated.

Can you tell us more about this? Do you need something special? Where exactly to grow, from what seeds, ordinary or some special ones do you need?

Yes, yes, I'm interested in the same. For one year I grew cucumbers and tomatoes on the windowsill. Then they took my windowsill for other needs. Now I grow only greens in plastic ice cream boxes.

I'll show you the hydroponic farm, you need to find pictures. Now I have planted new varieties of plants (strawberries), some in the phase of 2 leaves, sprout, naturally from seeds. And the latter have not yet sprouted from seeds, it is still early.

mur_myau, I saw in my city in Household Products, it seems to me that I met on the Internet, they sell an old Ves Electric V-GH 201, I bought mine for a long time, in, it was inexpensive with shipment. Now the price for them has increased noticeably.

Girls, let me write about hydroponics and show it on my blog. And then here it is somehow off topic, but I have already found a lot of pictures so that you can see what is growing there.

I promised to post information on hydroponics on my blog. Welcome to my blog. I didn't even have to wait three years.

well, if you do not follow the sprouts, then the smell will appear in the germinator.
It is enough to change the water in the sprouter as it gets dirty and you will be happy.
In general, take it already and then we look forward to hearing from you about what you bought

alina.kholodnyak,
There has never been a smell in the smart spruter (washed once a day). Ready to eat on the second or third day.

At the doctor, green also changed the water once a day. This is an automatic germinator.

In comparison, the smart sprouter glass is ideal for green buckwheat, wheat and rye, but the machine can be used for growing legumes (soy, mung bean). I use sprouts for Korean cuisine.

I would not say that the smart sprouter is ideal for buckwheat and other slimy (flax, too), because the sprouts are all in mucus, but so that without mucus you have to wash them more than once every 12 hours (checked). For these slimy ones, it is better to use an automatic germinator.
In another green, I did not like that if you do not notice and change the water late, then it will also pour everything into the water with slime that has flowed into the water.
Of course, everything is learned by comparison.
alina.kholodnyak
In the review that you gave everything is described in detail. But for me the question remained unclear, is it difficult to care for and can it be washed only with running water or can you use different detergents? Of course, wait for my detailed review after purchase.
mur_myau
slash,
I will unsubscribe on buckwheat.
If you soak according to the scheme (smart sprouter instructions for 20 minutes for buckwheat and completely drain the water after that), then there is no mucus at all.
Soaking in the evening, in the morning I have crumbly cereals with hatched roots. By the end of the day, with one rinse in a glass, the result is the same. No mucus.

On the contrary, at doctor green buckwheat turned out to be dull, soft and germinated for a long time (the desired result on the second day). Seeds from one bag.

I just shared my experience of using two different sprouts.

Uzbek small and some seeds do not germinate, you need to eat carefully - not germinated grain can be overlooked in a pile and break a tooth (we did not break it).
In order not to break a tooth on unsprouted mung bean beans, it is necessary to pour boiling water over it for germination. In this case, the germination rate is almost 100%.
filirina
Chef, is there any more details about pouring boiling water? Poke your nose, please!
Rada-dms
How interesting! Dont know! Thank you, Chief, I'll try!
Chef
Irina, I just pour boiling water instead of plain water.
But lentils - plain water. She and so all, if not germinate, then becomes soft and safe for the teeth.
filirina
Thank you Chief! I didn't know this trick!
Rada-dms
Chef, water (boiling water) then do not need to drain?
Chef
Rada-dms, my sequence is always the same: I pour the seeds into the jar, rinse them thoroughly, fill them with water (mostly overnight), drain them in the morning, gently rinse them and pour out the water. And so in the evenings and mornings I only rinse with a drain of water. In the last days, the jar is no longer on the countertop, but in the refrigerator, but I continue to wash it carefully (so as not to break the sprouts) (and gradually take it for food).
