In fact, it is often not quite correctly called a sausage salad (Wurstsalat), but its peculiarity lies in a wide range of ingredients and the greater role of the cook's imagination in its preparation. Actually, of the obligatory ingredients, there is only one - oddly enough - another ready-made dish, the familiar meat salad from beef lips - Oxenmaulsalat. Then the imagination turns on: blood sausage, brawn, bratwurst, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers are added. Or at least something from this list. All this is mixed with vinegar and oil, salt and pepper are added. Served cold.
  • 1. So we need a base - Oxenmaulsalat (salad of beef lips with marinated onions). You can buy it ready-made canned or cook it yourself. We have a topic in this section for preparing this salad. In short, boil veal or beef lips, peel, chop thinly and marinate with onions in a mixture of vinegar, mustard and vegetable oil. Salt and pepper to taste. I had a salad ready in the evening.
  • 2. Cut additional ingredients depending on your imagination. My organic additions are sausages, pickles, tomatoes and eggs. Plus to refresh the situation added to the pickled fresh onions. I will say right away that the pickled cucumber went very well here.
  • 3. Mix all the ingredients, taste and correct the taste with salt, pepper, vinegar and oil. We give some time to brew and consume. You can have a good beer!

The salad is much tastier than just Oxenmaulsalat. This dish turned out to be very light. If you reduce the amount of vegetable oil, then you can reduce the calorie content of the dish to a minimum. At the same time, the dish is elegant and will look good even on a festive table. In general, this salad will stay with me for a long time.
