Potatoes 700 gr.
Salt taste
Milk 100 ml.
Vegetable oil for frying
Minced meat (pork) 700 gr.
Peppers: black and allspice 0.5 tsp

Grated cheese 200 gr.

Cooking method

  • German potato casserole
  • We clean and boil potatoes. Add salt. Then we make mashed potatoes. Milk (or butter and egg) can be added. The mass should not be liquid.
  • Add oil to the pan and fry the minced meat slightly. Add spices.
  • Put the finished minced meat in an aluminum baking dish. Cut the onion into rings and place on top. The next row is sauerkraut. If you do not wring it out, the lower layers will be juicier. Add cumin if desired (I did not add).
  • Spread the mashed potatoes on the cabbage in an even layer. And finally, the finishing layer is grated cheese (I didn't have it)
  • We send it to the preheated oven and bake for 40-60 minutes until golden brown.

  • At first it smelled tenderly of potatoes. Then the smell intensified. And only at the very end of baking did the cabbage aroma appear. Impossible to resist!
  • Overexposed: the potatoes are browned, and the surface is a little dry. But it did not affect the taste in the least. The onion was not felt at all: it absorbed cabbage juice and aroma. It turned out two layers of cabbage
  • I didn’t rub the cheese and I think it’s great without it!

I added an egg to mashed potatoes, 50 gr. butter, and 6 tbsp. l. flour. From mashed potatoes I collected a "box". I laid the filling in layers in it. I planted a surprise on the roof: a beef sausage.
The doggie itself is also puree. But the dough did not want to keep its shape, I had to add more flour.
