Ingredients

Brown sugar 210 gr.
honey (liquid) 150 gr.
water 75 ml.
oil drain. cold 250 gr.
flour (1st grade) 560 g
baking powder 1 tsp
cinnamon, ginger, cloves, musk. nut

Cooking method

  • Put sugar, spices, honey and water in a thick-walled bowl and bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Add butter, cut into pieces. Stir. After the oil has dissolved, add baking powder. Stir thoroughly again, and gradually add flour, beating the mass with a mixer. Put the finished dough in the refrigerator overnight.
  • The dough will harden from the cold, but in the hands it will again become pliable, soft ...

Sometimes I have difficulty with baking due to the presence of eggs in it. For a long time I was looking for a recipe for gingerbread that satisfies all my requirements - so that honey is present, that they look like gingerbread, but not crackers, and the main thing is that the dough is without eggs ... In general, after digging up many, many sites, I found this one recipe. I tried it and I can offer you, as the past "field" test. The gingerbread cookies are not airy, but soft. Stored in a closed jar. True, I did not manage to preserve at least one gingerbread for a long time (both children and adults ate them with pleasure), so I don't know how long they can last.
But the dough can stand in the refrigerator for up to a month ...

I experimented a bit with the test, so I can say for sure. You need to roll it out with a thickness of 0.5 cm. You correctly noted that if you roll it thinner, they will be hard, if thicker, they will not be baked.
Place in a hot oven (approx. 180 ° C) and bake for 7 minutes. But with regard to time, of course, you need to be guided by your oven, just look at the gingerbread cookies - they will first become shiny (the butter will melt), and then they will become dull, that's when it's time to pull out! I also became interested in gingerbread for the first time and baked them for the first time in my life, but everything worked out, everyone really liked it!

Py. Sy. I didn't cover them with anything, because for me it was all an experiment - both the gingerbread and the icing themselves, and I didn't know how this experiment would end. But if you do not decorate, then you can pour sugar icing (which is for classic gingerbread).
