Ingredients

Ready yeast-free puff pastry 1 package (500 g)
Walnuts (kernels) 1.5 cups
Granulated sugar 1-1.5 cups
Butter 30-40 g
Honey 2-3 st. spoons
Water 100ml

Cooking method

  • Invented for myself a simplified version of baklava cooking. She always rolled out the dough with a rolling pin, but bought a machine for rolling out Marcato dough and tried to roll it on it.
  • So let's get started.
  • We defrost the dough, mode each layer in half, it turns out 4 parts.
  • We take 1 part, sprinkle well with flour and start rolling.

  • I rolled in positions 0-2-4-6-7, at 8 I started to break.
  • The result is a tape of 2m 30 cm

  • Since the ribbon turned out to be narrow, she twisted the roll in parts in length, sprinkling with a mixture of nuts and sugar

  • One part made 6 rolls.

  • One part of the dough was rolled out with a rolling pin for comparison. Roll it out so thinly as with a typewriter I never succeed.

  • It turns out one long roll.

  • Fold the rolls into a mold (I got 2 glass molds).

  • Cut into pieces (about 3-4 cm).

  • Add water, stir.

  • You can simplify the process so as not to melt the butter, add hot water to the butter and honey right away.
  • Pour the resulting syrup over the rolls.

  • Sprinkle with ground nuts and sugar on top (I leave 1-2 tablespoons for sprinkling).
  • Rolls a la baklava from ready-made puff pastry (using a dough rolling machine)
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes. There will be some thick syrup at the bottom of the mold.

thrift
Lena, I want to cook baklava for a long time.

I even tried once, but it didn't work out to roll out the dough thinly, and I didn't guess what can be rolled out on a typewriter, now

I will try.
Loksa
There was a similar recipe, there the dough in layers, and you have already mastered it for rolling. Well done! I was thinking how to simplify on a typewriter - rolls are very convenient. I like it. I will definitely cook it! Avka cool
anel
Loksa, Oksana, thank you! I also used to bake in layers, but for me it takes a long time, I would like something faster. Now I have been baking rolls for several years.
And now with a typewriter
Seven-year plan

The dough in baklava is generally not flaky and yeast, but oh well! Thanks for the idea! I'll try to do it on rolling!
anel
Sveta, thank you
Of course, this is not exactly baklava, but rather a "variation" on the theme of baklava. But I like it, try it.
anel
Katris, so for me the main thing is "quick and easy". Thank you.

Irina, thanks, try it.And I take the ready-made puff pastry, dough-free, because I'm too lazy to bother to cook myself. And for these rolls it is suitable.
Nana
Great! But without a typewriter, it will be difficult to roll out the malyasik.
anel
Nana, Oksana, thank you! She always rolled out the dough with a rolling pin. Of course it turns out not as thin as with a typewriter, but it does not appear on the taste Try to roll it out with your hands.

anel, Lena, inspired by the recipe! But I'm afraid to put my glass bowl in the oven. In this regard, the questions:

1. If not glass, which is better? Or will any shape work?

2. How important is the height of the sides? (There is a cute ceramic mold, but the height is 6 cm - won't baklavata be pale-faced brothers?

3. Are we putting it in a cold or preheated oven?
anel
Julia It seems to me that the oven can be in any heat-resistant form, I just have all forms of glass, there are no others. I went and measured the height of the sides - one shape has 6cm, the other 7cm. The main thing here is that the rolls should not lie very far from each other, the photo shows that I cut the blanks right in the mold and do not push them apart. Well, the syrup so that all the rolls get it. Therefore, I bake in the form.
And if you do a lot, then you can bake on a baking sheet, the main thing is to occupy the entire area.
In principle, it is possible in a cold one, but in a hot one it will turn out faster in time.
But in the instructions for my oven (Gorene), it is recommended to put all dishes in a cold oven and reheat with it. I think in order to save electricity.
