Pilaf from bulgur in a multicooker Panasonic-18

Ingredients

carrot 2 medium
onion - turnip 2 large
bulgur 2 mult - glasses
garlic 10-15 teeth
seasoning for pilaf 1 tbsp. l.
ground paprika (preferably smoked) 1 tbsp. l.
crushed black pepper (optional) 1 tsp
salt large pinch
grows up. oil 80 ml.
medium-sized meat: pork, chicken, beef - optional 700 - 800 gr.
water (boiling water) 3, 75 mult - stack.

Cooking method

  • 1) Fry the onion, cut into petals in vegetable oil until light blush. Put in a multicooker bowl.
  • 2) In the same oil, fry the carrots cut into cubes until half cooked. Place the carrots over the onions.
  • 3) In the same place, fry the pieces of meat and, together with the remaining oil, put them in a cartoon with onions and carrots. Mix.
  • 4) Add 2 multi-glasses of bulgur to the products mixed in a multi-product and mix it thoroughly with the rest of the products so that the cereals are saturated with oil.
  • 5) Add seasoning, salt, black pepper according to your recipe or your taste.
  • 6) Put the garlic cloves on top of the bulgur.
  • 7) Pour the contents of the multicooker 3, 75 mult - cups of boiling water.
  • 8. Set the "Pilaf" mode.
  • 9) After the beeps, open the lid of the multicooker. Stir the pilaf and serve.

Pilaf, as a dish known to us, came to Europe and to us from the countries of the Arab Maghreb. Where it was originally made from the grains of crushed wheat, called bulgur in these countries. And to this day, in these countries, a dish called pilaf is prepared exclusively from crushed wheat.
And, only, having got to Central Asia with caravans of merchants, the recipe for pilaf from a dish based on bulgur was transformed into the now well-known rice pilaf. And, this transformation took place due to the fact that wheat, as an agricultural crop, due to the climatic features of Central Asia, did not receive proper distribution there.
I decided to fill the gap in the list of recipes for my multicooker, and today I present to your attention the authentic Maghreb pilaf so beloved by my family!
Pilaf turns out to be amazingly aromatic, with a rich flavor palette due to the fact that, unlike rice, bulgur itself is a very fragrant cereal. And it brings a lot of flavors to dishes with it.

I am far from an expert in this. And I pour water not by eye, but at the rate. And I noticed once that after washing the rice with me and further adding water at the rate, I got porridge. I don’t rinse the rice anymore, and neither do other cereals. Well, except for millet, as I said.
