Banosh (corn porridge) with feta cheese or cracklings in a Bork multicooker

Ingredients

corn grits 150 g
water 100 ml
sour cream 150 g
milk 150 ml
feta cheese 100 g
lard or bacon 200 g
medium onion 1 PC

Cooking method

  • Banosh is a dish of the Hutsul cuisine.
  • I used measuring cup from the Bork multicooker... It turned out to be three servings.
  • 1. Pour half a glass of water, a glass of milk, a glass of sour cream, a glass of washed corn grits, 50 grams of butter into the bowl of a multicooker. Salt. Mix well. Put on Kasha mode. Porridge acquires a light sour-milk taste - this is normal.

  • 2. It is correct to use sheep cheese for banosha, but I did not have one, so I made a kind of similitude myself, but it turned out delicious. The kids liked it.
  • Beat 1 egg and 0.5 liter of milk, add 150 grams of sour cream. Put on the fire, when it boils, boil over low heat for no more than a minute. Throw in a colander. Salt.

Time for preparing:

20-30 minutes

Cooking program:

porridge

Note

You can also use fried mushrooms for banosh.
Remembering the taste of the Transcarpathian banosh, I understand that it was prepared from homemade, fatty food and in the oven. Therefore, if the figure allows, I recommend adding another 100 grams of oil to it after cooking porridge.

I cooked for the first time, so it will be interesting to hear someone's amendments or additions.

Question. Washed porridge - is it corn grits?

Catherine, in the ingredients, probably, after all, not corn porridge, but corn grits? And in the multicooker bowl - a glass of washed cereal?
An interesting recipe! Add sour cream when cooking porridge - I would never have guessed. Thank you!
KatarinaU
well yes. rinse the cereal before cooking.
KatarinaU
Yes. you're right. correcting.

And I would put butter after cooking. There is no need to cook it with porridge.

An interesting recipe!) And in your Bork, how long does the "Porridge" regime last?

I still recommend putting the oil before and after cooking. It can burn, and the porridge seems to be nourished by it. If dairy products are homemade, put butter in the prepared porridge.
I can't say for sure how long it takes to cook the porridge. Approx. 20 min.

No, it won't burn. For some reason I don’t like when butter is cooked with porridge, it’s not tasty to me) But this is a matter of taste.
