Cooking method

  • After 1 hour, the porridge was ready. As a dressing, I fried 1 carrot and one onion, after cutting it, since there were no more onions, I added 2 cubes of onion crumbs from Knor. I fried about 100 g of bacon.
  • I mixed all this with porridge and immediately ate half, I would have eaten the whole, but I had to go to work.

After buying a bread maker, I bought all types of flour that I could find on sale, including pea flour (4 UAH kg). The taste of bread with the addition of pea flour quickly reminded me of Khrushchev's crop failures and long lines for bread with one loaf in one hand, so it was pushed into the far corner of the cabinet.

It turned out to be a wonderful dish. I recommend to lovers of legumes.

Cooking like this:

Split peas 1.5 cups, if 2 - thicker
Water 1 liter

When the peas are boiled, turn them off. Crush with a potato crush.

Soak the peas for 6-8 hours, or overnight. I drain the water, rinse the peas, pour fresh water about 2 cm above the peas level. Bring to a boil over high heat and immediately reduce heat to low.

Cook until tender (40-50 minutes), salt some time before the end of cooking.
You can add finely chopped onion, black pepper, bay leaf and red pepper. Add butter or vegetable oil, green tea and / or fried bacon to the finished porridge.
