Girls and boys, I don't even come to you with a cry, but with a cry for help
For a year, my previous frying pan with a ceramic coating went out of order, I studied the issue, we decided to buy one with a granite coating. But in the store we were told that the best is a cast-iron frying pan, both safe and durable, which is even inherited, and most importantly nothing sticks even without oil ...
Price - you can kill yourself, but for the sake of super food you can go broke once every hundred years We took this one 🔗 - an elite series, they took more expensive than they found on the Internet later.
Cast iron frying pan with enamel coating CHASSEUR - how to handle it ???
The advantage is that such cast iron does not need to be cooked, just wash and that's it, and you don't need to ignite or perform other "dances with tambourines."
And so with trembling hands at home I start cooking - we decided to fry potatoes.
And this is how we get potatoes - I'm hysterical, I'm really crying - that kind of money and that ... - what is it in general - such crooked hands, or are there any special tricks needed in dealing with such a miracle-yud ... They threw out the potatoes, it's impossible to eat ...
Save !!!!!!!

Natasha
And why is it not necessary to calcine cast iron or the coating is such
I have 2 Swedish Skepschult frying pans (I bought from the officials), there even the instructions say that you need to ignite before use

and although I apologize it says that the coating is enamel (it seems like it is not necessary)

NataST,

Natasha, the cast iron still needs to be prepared. Do not bang your head against the wall, because cast iron can still stick something on itself. Firm cast iron (of a good manufacturer) is really two big differences with cast iron from the "gateway". Casting quality - heaven and earth. Trust me, I am a lover of cast iron, I have plenty of it. This is me to ensure that you are not so killed because of the price. Frying pans Skepschul, Staub, etc. cost more. I don't really understand from the photo what is there with the potatoes except that it was fried and why it was thrown out))). Well, it's fried ... This is not a reason not to eat potatoes))).

Ignite a frying pan with salt (salt takes moisture), let it cool almost completely and brush with vegetable oil. With detergents not mine NEVER! only hot water. After the calcination and lubrication procedure, fire the pancakes so that your heart calms down a little)). Thin pancakes to the diameter of a frying pan. Under the first, spread with a piece of lard or vegetable oil. Under the rest, you can not smear, but add a couple of tablespoons of vegetable to the dough. You'll like it))). Then fry the eggs. Smear with vegetable oil under the eggs. I have a special Bodum glass cup with a silicone brush, in which vegetable oil is poured, and so I smear everything with it. It is necessary not to fill in with oil, but to smear it.

According to the photo in the store and your photos - this is not enamel. This is a well-prepared coating and high-quality casting, but not enamel, which we understand as enamel)).
NataST
Alex100, the consultants said that only to wash. There is cast iron with an enamel coating and supposedly does not need such a procedure ...
Scarecrow
NataST,

Never heat a cast-iron pan as hell. Do not use the size of the burner fire that you are used to with regular pans. Do a little less. Cast iron heats up longer, but then it keeps heat very strongly and for a long time (high heat capacity), and you simply burn the product on the surface that you put in this frying pan.
NataST
Nata, thanks for the consultation. Set to ignite.Leave the salt to cool in the pan, or pour it out and let it cool by itself? And grease almost cooled down with oil?
And then how to cook - in a well-heated frying pan?
Scarecrow
Leave the salt, otherwise it is hot, then pour it when it becomes just normally warm. Pour in salt and coat with oil. Cook in a medium-heated skillet. Just if you turn on the usual big fire - it will glow like an infection))). Turn on a little less. just warm it up longer (this is an inert material - it heats up longer than steel). And right today, now after cooling down, fire the pancakes. Cast iron is a heavy thing, of course, it is not easy to carry. But, in my opinion, cast iron pancakes are the most delicious))).

I. For pancakes, do not use sour milk! You can add it a little. Sour milk makes pancakes hellishly sticky and viscous in any frying pan. But cast iron certainly does not forgive this))). With milk or water. You will like it, I'm sure)).

NataST, according to the pictures in the link, it looks like the outer surface is enameled (it's clearer on white). Is that how it is? Is the enamel really present? If it is there, then it is definitely impossible to ignite. The enamel is not intended for such actions - it will crack and break off later. I have old Soviet cast iron patches - enameled both inside and outside.
Scarecrow
lega,

I also cannot understand from the photo. I'm like enamel - I don't see ...
Alex100
Yes girls on the store link says that enamel coating
Therefore, I refrained from commenting in favor of calcining
Can still turn to the officials and ask
The frying pan is kind of new, maybe some kind of marriage ........
Scarecrow
If she is hopelessly ruined by my advice, I will refund.
Alex100
Scarecrow, due to one calcination it will not deteriorate 100%
Let's see the result) can really help

Nata, I only saw in one of the photos at this link that there might be external enamel. For this one - Cast iron frying pan with enamel coating CHASSEUR - how to handle it ??? - I thought that there, in the frying pan itself, the enamel is just black on the outside, so we don't notice it. And for some reason in the description it is not advised to use it in the oven ... is that how the oven can be harmful to cast iron?

Galina, there is a wooden handle

Exactly! What a bastard! Immediately it did not come about the connection between the wooden handle and the oven.

Damn, the site does not allow copying. And even if you click on the question mark "?" opposite the inscription "coating - enameled", then a plate falls out, that both the outer and inner sides are covered glass enamel, which, well, just saves our lives, and the food turns out to be simply divine.
NataST
Well, in general, the second attempt is the same unsuccessful, everything is fried. So my husband took this unfortunate frying pan and exchanged for two others - with a granite coating and a crepe maker. They also returned some of the money. The sellers were very surprised, they said it was the first time a complaint. In general, I personally end my acquaintance with cast iron on this. Thank you all for your support, it's great that we have such a wonderful forum
Scarecrow
NataST,

Sorry ... I mean your disappointment. Cast iron is cool!)))
