So who is changing it? !!! This weekend, the three of us got along very well !!!
Wow And I thought four of us, even with a duck

But seriously, my old slow-cooker, who is at least 10 years old, has three modes: "High", "Low", "Auto", and of course, "Off". The first mode is the strongest, in this mode I bring it to a boil, then switch to "Low". "Auto" mode - you can endlessly in it: economical, like: brings to the required temperature and turns off the heating. Then, as it cools, it turns on the heating again, etc.
By the way, I have it for 6.5 liters, not 8. To be honest, I have never seen an 8-liter one ...
Gypsy

for those who have not seen 8 liters. This year Israel has only 8 liter Morphy Richards

Hairpin, the mode is probably the hottest .. usually indicate the maximum power.

sleeve used
one . To make it more convenient to collect fat, do not drive it all over the sheet.

2. To reduce the cooking time of a dish, a "greenhouse effect" is created in it, which actually exists in a slow cooker.
Due to the fact that the dish is in the sleeve, it does not dry out.
I just made a full pot of cabbage rolls, and now I will go to bed, in the morning I have guests. Breakfast is already provided without hassle (unless the electricity is cut off)

But I don’t understand why in the sleeve? Not to smell? Not to mention your wok, there are tons of beautiful ceramic pots. Well, just imagine. You throw it all in a ceramic pot, and then it is on the table ...

I thought, I thought ... and I myself did not understand why in the sleeve ...
With the same success I can put a hefty glass ducks in my glass duck ...

Do you think that the oven will gobble up a fig of electricity in such a time, if you prophesy that after one time we will not look towards the oven for the purpose of such application?

Girls, on the weekend I saw the Comfort FL-15 Dolgarka on the Metro. Maybe someone knows something about her? The price is certainly attractive, but the instructions do not say anything about the cooking time and, in general, there is little information. Search in the internet gave nothing. Here I sit and think whether it is worth buying it. Manufactured exactly China without a special passport
Hairpin
Shushka, I also joked her in the Internet ... no ... Maybe you wrote the labeling incorrectly?

So she's FY, not FL !!!!!!!!! I ran the rice cookers too. Like rice & slow cookers!

Above is the link to the rice cooker. She was also present. But I'm talking about a slow cooker. True, I really was sealed. It is not FL-15, but FY-15 There are no photos of this miracle, unfortunately (we photographed the back side of the instructions where the supplier's phone number is written). But she looks a bit like Morphy Richards.
Today my husband phoned the supplier with a fight. They did not give information about the duration (and even more so the temperature regime), since they themselves do not know. They are imported recently. This is probably why there are no reviews. Although it is still strange that it is not on the internet either. My husband even went to a Chinese site, but there is no mention of her there either.
Here is such a strange thing

Are you not mistaken with the labeling? Maybe an FY-35? This debt is practically twin of the Kenwood SR 658 🔗

Have you seen her? Indeed, it looks like either Kenwood CP 658 or Morphy Richards, though I don't remember the buttons. Volume 3.5 liters. Low, high, auto modes. The power seems to be 200 watts. Made in China. Supplier - Kiev. The model wrote as it was written on the meter price tag.

The modes are similar, but I need a device with a maximum cooking time. So that in the morning to put a dish, and in the evening to have something to eat

I bought it. And I also have Kenwood. Follow the link I gave above and compare Comfort and Kenwood yourself. Only the power of Kenwood is 320 W, not 2000 W, as it is written on the site (apparently a typo). As for the modes ... As far as I understand, High, Low and Auto differ in temperature (due to different power) and you can cook as long as you like, as long as the product allows it. The fact that the High mode is 8 hours, and the Low mode is 4 hours, it seems to me a "mid-ceiling" figure, which is taken on the basis that the meat should be cooked for at least 6-8 hours. Well, what if my chickens were ready much earlier? I just turn it off when I see fit. And I heated the milk much longer than the time frames suggest. There is no electronics here, an ordinary electric pan, as much as you want and it will work.
marinal
How long have you been using it? And how is she against the background of Kenwood? And where, besides the metro, can you look at it?

That's just the point, I would like to know what power in what mode. For how long on what mode can you leave the dish. Well, so that it does not work out that, when you come home, you will find boiled porridge instead of a stew. I won't be able to turn it off earlier than 10-12 hours later.
By the way, what is the "Auto" mode and does it keep the dish warm (namely, the maintenance, and not the continuation of heating the dish at the same power as cooking).
And, in general, what are your impressions (if, of course, you have already managed to compare her with Kenwood)?

shuska
Of course, I have already broken through the topic about an electronic time relay that would turn on / off the device. But still I want not to be mistaken in choosing a model of a slow cooker. Maybe it's better to take Kenwood. Of course, there is a difference in price, but who knows how this cheap one will behave ... Probably we should take Kenwood? ... Or save money? ... And I broke through the topic of installing a voltage regulator on the wire, and, accordingly, the heating temperature. My electricians said my brains would fly. That is, not mine, but slow cookers. They say they are not designed for other voltages. They said that if you disassemble it, but not those wires that go to the brains, install something there ... Well, they overestimated me. "Auto" is keeping the food warm. The instructions suggest to bring the dish to "condition" in this mode.
As for the differences between Kenwood and Comfort, I believe that this is the displacement and nothing else. Apparently, the manufacturer is the same.
Technically, both pans are identical. The difference in power is most likely due to the size (displacement).
shuska
LenaV07, and the slow cooker itself switches from the selected mode to the "Auto" mode? And another question for comparing the quality of both devices. The quality of plastic, ceramics, etc.
shuska
LenaV07, if I understand correctly, if the unit is connected via a time relay, it will turn on, it will work as long as I want in one selected (!) Mode and turn off. In this situation, the "Auto" mode is not relevant for me
LenaV07
shuska
What are your goals for the slow cooker?
shuska
LenaV07, I already wrote above: to cook a dish in my absence. It is advisable to keep it warm by the time of eating.
shuska
Quote: LenaV07

What makes you doubtful?
Duration of cooking. If the dish is cooked according to the recipe for 6 hours, and the time interval between my departure and arrival is 10-12 hours, then how to set the slow cooker? For example, when I leave the house at 10 am, I will put the dish to cook. In 6 hours (at 16.00) it will be ready. But then I come at 20-22.00. In 4-6 hours my food will be cold and tasteless. It will have to be warmed up.
LenaV07
shuska
I already wrote that only empirically you will determine how long it will take to prepare a particular dish and on what mode. In addition, keep in mind that the ceramic bowl keeps heat for quite some time. If the price of the device is not critical for you, then it is quite possible to buy, and even during operation you will find the best options.
Pakat
If additional switching is needed, look for a programmable slow cooker like this, with a capacity of 5.5 liters -
Slow cookers: model selection, features, reviews
shuska
LenaV07, that's not quite the point. Let me know how much I should cook a dish on a certain mode (previously tested empirically). But it is not clear how the dish is being prepared in practice. If there was a delay in the start, then it is clear. But in these slow cookers, and in the Kenwoods CP707 with email. Management of this benefit is not available. We urgently need to decide which one to take, because now there is an opportunity to take Kenwood 707 at a discount. But after reading the instructions, we still did not figure it out to the end (it is somehow muddy). That's wise
Caprice
Girls, what a problem to connect the slow cooker through the relay vrkmkni: I always do just that. These time relays are very inexpensive.

drying, in a slow cooker it is very difficult to re-cook the dish, since everything is cooked at low temperatures,
For example, yesterday I cooked cabbage rolls, put them in the night, cooked for 12 hours.
Cabbage and rice in stuffed cabbage are such products that they quickly boil.

But the result was excellent, the dish was prepared for the guests, and the guests praised the taste very much. I'll post the recipe on Thursday.

And I also cooked Ajapsandal for Seven Hours, come and see the photos.
After 7 hours of heat treatment, what the eggplants look like.

I have a slow cooker without electronics, I'm not going to buy another one. Quite satisfied.
Can really buy you easier and cheaper.

Nata here Kaprice advised that something like a carrier and a relay with shutdown at the right time in one bottle, said that you can buy where there are electrical outlets, etc., read the first pages. And to turn off itself, programmable, as far as I understood, there is no such model and it's not about the price. I hope I understood everything correctly.

Shurshun, about two slow cookers. Large is 6.5 liters. Do you need that much soup? I don't. That is, a large and oval one is needed for ducks / geese, rabbits, pork knuckles and ... well, pheasants, probably ... or something else that is large. Are you going to make such dishes for your family? No. This is to put on the table on a holiday. Therefore, a large one is needed.
And here is a small one. I already wrote. I cut the same mutton (I did it in the pressure cooker yesterday, because I didn't have time in the slow cooker, and the slow cooker was too big) I cut it, threw it on top, poured it with tomato sauce with curry, cumin and so on and set it for ... 8-12 hours. Let for 12 hours. I got up after 10 hours, turned it off. Got up after 14 hours. Heated for two hours. Why do you need this lamb in the volume of 2.5 - 3 liters?
Look like that's it...

Gaby! The 707 Kenwood model (which I first wanted to order) seems to have all of these features, but ... a duck won't fit in there!

I also meant such a relay. In it you can program the time of turning on and off the device connected through it. I use this for a slow cooker and for a yogurt maker, which I also have without a timer.

I am very sorry that you stepped on the same rake as I did a week ago. It wasn't the lack of multiple modes that upset me so much as the lack of Lowe. If there was one Lowe, I would be happy.
I sent a request to MR about the power of the heating mode and the possibility of using it as a Low mode, but they did not answer me. So if you still have the opportunity to return it, then ...
Unfortunately, you can set a timer in slow cookers without brains. In my case, it is impossible to reduce the voltage, since the brains themselves are designed for this power. And to correct the brain circuits ... in this case, more than problematic!

Pts happily ugorazdilo me at 6.5 liters. I am delighted, I don’t need different modes, I’m already doing everything in it for the time being. So I’m making apple jam, a full bowl of it, in 15 minutes I’ll go and taste it. A huge bowl and a timer are more important to me than modes.
