Barley with mushrooms in pots

Ingredients

Pearl barley 1 glass
Onion 1 large head
Frozen mushrooms 300 gr.
Sunflower oil for frying
Salt taste
Bay leaf taste
Water 0,5 l
Greens optional

Cooking method

  • Chop the onion finely, fry in sunflower oil until golden brown, add frozen mushrooms, fry together for min. 7 until half of the liquid has evaporated. Transfer to a plate.
  • In a clean frying pan, well oiled, put well washed barley (it must be soaked in advance - from the evening of the previous day). While stirring, bring the cereal until golden brown. Add mushrooms and onions and mix well.
  • Prepare water for pouring pots:
  • Boil water in a kettle, pour 0.5 liters into a separate container., Salt to taste, taking into account the fact that the cereal will absorb a little salt during cooking.
  • Put 3 tablespoons with a large slide of pearl barley with mushrooms in each pot, fill with brine, mix, add a little more so that the liquid is 1 cm higher than the cereal.
  • Place half a leaf of bay pepper in each pot.
  • Cover with lids and place in the oven. Turn it on at 220 degrees, wait until the water bubbles in the pots, then switch the oven to 180 degrees and leave the pots to simmer for 1.2 hours.
  • Check the taste and softness, add fresh herbs if desired and ask for the table.
