It just seems to me that milk is needed in order to kill the muddy aftertaste. And you will get that the used milk already has this smell. Although, this is purely theoretical reasoning, I have to try, maybe it will work out fine!

I'm with a report.
Today I used the milk left over from the pike with bread. I tasted it - I didn't feel anything like mud, probably the pike was young.
I put the dough on bread and buns on this slurry, baked bread with onions and a roll with nuts (added vanillin). Supplements in case you need to kill the fish smell.
It turned out to be completely normal baking, without foreign smells, moreover, the dough rose very well, perhaps even better than just on milk. So, now I know where to put the storage of dried bread - I will soak in milk and bake new bread.
