Hello everybody! It seemed unfair that rumba and scuba have themes, but not about braava. Now I am in front of a choice, scuba / braava, and looking for meormation wherever possible. In our city, there is nowhere to rent equipment, friends / acquaintances also do not (all have cleaners). My situation is like this, in a small apartment, 65m, mostly laminate. In the kitchen and in the bathroom tiles. The tiles in the kitchen are simply awful, they are porous, with an embossed pattern, and washing them is a complete torment, they lost their original beauty during the renovation, they did not manage to completely wash them from the builders. That, in general, is the whole question, Will Braava cope with my tiles? Braava owners, respond !!!

Braava will not help with this, if you have tried manual cleaning then the robot for other purposes. Take an ordinary mop and do what Braava does - a Christmas tree from her movements, so you will see what happens. better give a picture of your tiles,
zhita
I have a floor polisher. There is only linoleum in the apartment, it washes normally in the rooms, in the kitchen and in the corridor it is necessary to run it daily, especially now. Small stains remain, it seems to me from the wheels, although I wipe them after each room.
It won't cope with your tiles, try to wet a rag, wring it out so that it doesn't drip off and wipe a piece of the floor, it will turn out like a robot (without effort, just "carry" back and forth). While writing already answered.
ludmila_27.79
I bought the Braava 390 T robot floor polisher and I am very pleased with it! I want to write my own review about him. Braava washes the floor very well and cleanly, even better than I did with a mop. I have a laminate flooring and when I washed it with an ordinary mop, I probably wetted the rag a lot, you can't squeeze it dry by automatic spinning and it dries for a very long time and although it seemed already dry in appearance, it was worth walking on it as the floor became covered in traces ... As it annoyed me, I bought different products for washing the laminate and is useless. And Braava washes delicately, without marks and streaks. I squeeze his cloth hard and the floor doesn't get wet and dries quickly. In the wet cleaning mode, the hall is 30 sq. m Braava washed 70 min. To wash the entire apartment 100 sq. m in wet cleaning mode, Braavu had to be charged 2 times (fortunately, there is a turbo charger in the kit and with its help it was charged for 2 hours). The robot washes small bedrooms quickly 15-20 minutes. In the wet cleaning mode, the robot washes everything very thoroughly, goes back and forth and rubs the floor, therefore for a long time, every day such a thorough cleaning is not needed, and today I launched Braava with a dry napkin, though I sprayed it with a special polish for dry cleaning of floors and a napkin in the end was black with dirt. In dry cleaning mode, the robot cleans quickly, moving in straight lines and the hall is 30 sq. m cleaned in half an hour, a long corridor of 10 sq. m in 15 minutes. The floor shone clean again! Now I launch Rumba every day, and after it Braava and the house is perfectly clean! And this is very important in a home with 3 small children. And most importantly, without any effort on my part.
Of the disadvantages of Braava, I want to note: there are not enough virtual walls like Rumba's, you have to put mechanical obstacles.
It gets stuck in narrow corners, for example, in the bathroom, and cannot get out of there.
Both Rumba and Braava would like the battery to be easily pulled out without unscrewing the screws, so that you can purchase an additional battery and charge it without problems.
In general, I am very pleased with my new assistant Braava, she makes my life very easy.
Tiziana
I got a buggy Braava. I sent her to the service. And it still works poorly. It washes too badly, it just wipes the floor lightly, all the dried stains remain.
ludmila_27.79
Dried stains cannot be washed with a mop. I first clean off such spots with a knife. I think Scuba will not cope with dried spots. In general, Braavu needs to be launched every day or every other day, and then the apartment will be clean. And if the floor has not been washed for a long time, then of course Braava will not cope, you will first need to wash it with a mop in the old fashioned way. Braava washes laminate flooring perfectly, delicately. You squeeze the rag well and the laminate is not wet and dries quickly. Tiziana, and what glitches did your Braava have?

and what glitches did your Braava have?

Scuba will cope, because she washes, and not whips with a damp cloth. But she's dear.

And from the glitches, it stops in the middle of the cleaning cycle and starts beeping. And so many times in a row. You have to restart it. Doesn't want to start working. You press the button to start cleaning, and it starts moving, immediately stops and starts beeping. During charging, glitches with a squeak also occur.
In general, I wear with her like the devil with a written sack. It is easier and faster to wash the floor itself, and much cleaner.

(fortunately, there is a turbo charger in the kit and with its help it was charged for 2 hours).

This turbo charge kills the battery pretty well.
How long have you had Braava?

How long have you had Braava?

I have Braava only 1 month. Does turbo charging really kill the battery? How long will the battery last if charged once a week with a turbo charger?
Quote: Tiziana
During charging, glitches with a squeak also occur.
I also had one night at night that Braava stood on the charge and squeaked 2 times, as if she had just been put on charge. In general, I do not understand why they came up with a sound signal when you put it on or remove it from the charge. It only interferes, especially if it squeaks at night, it wakes everyone up.
Tiziana, Braavu needs to be constantly charged like Rumba, or not? The instructions do not say anything about this. And I also wanted to say that I read a lot of reviews about Scuba. Many are also dissatisfied with her, she also often gives errors. And Scuba is not recommended when there is laminate flooring.

Tiziana
Quote: ludmila_27.79
Should Braavu be constantly charged like Rumba, or not?

I have had Braava for over 2 years (warranty expired)
I keep it constantly on charge. And I noticed that the less I use it, the more buggy it becomes. Now, even to start cleaning it, you have to suffer with it for 5 minutes, no less. And in the process of cleaning, restart it 5 times. Why am I suffering with her, I don't know, I can't throw my hand away, sorry for the money ...
ludmila_27.79
Tiziana, can sell to someone and already the buyer can repair it. You wrote that during charging there are glitches with a squeak, but at the same time it charges normally? I've been having problems with charging for several days now. I put Braava on charging, it starts charging and takes about 5 minutes, a squeak is heard and it is no longer charging. I plug it into the outlet several times in a row, does not want to charge. I connected the turbo charger to the charger, the blue light does not light up. After a while, I plug it in again many times and after numerous attempts it finally starts charging and is already fully charged. So I just can't understand what the problem is: in charging or in the robot itself?
Tiziana

I don't want to upset you, but the problem is in the robot itself. This is a buggy board of the charging unit.
He is now beeping at me on the charge and the red, flashing light comes on.

Now Braava did not charge me at all. Not a single light is on on it and the robot is not charging. I thought it was about charging, because when the charger is connected to a turbo charger, the blue light does not light up. There is also a problem to get a charger for this robot, here it is not on sale in online stores. Braav will have to give it back for repair under warranty. And I bought it in Germany and the guarantee is also in Germany, and I myself live in Spain. Can it be easier to send a robot in Spain for repair? But then it will be at my expense.
Tiziana
ludmila_27.79, That is, does it not have a European guarantee?
I bought my glucan on Amazon. I wrote to them about the problem, they explained what to do. I packed Braavu, the courier arrived, took it, then brought it back from the service. Therefore, in this sense, I had no problem. If only they had fixed the faults ...
ludmila_27.79
TizianaThe warranty is only valid in the country where the robot was purchased. Only I live in Spain, and the guarantee is in Germany. I bought it on Ebay. I called Ayrobot in Spain, they say that each country has its own guarantee and that robots not bought in Spain are not guaranteed.
And you had to return the robot for repairs while it was still under warranty. Can you reflash it and the glitches will pass?
GriNata
New Braava, bought yesterday, does not charge, flashes blue while standing on the charging base, after 11 hours it flashes red, then flashes blue again.
It's a shame, the rumba has been working for the benefit of cleanliness for 6 years, but here I wanted and waited ... and this is so unpleasant.
I called the service, asked to put it on charge on a straight line, through a wire.
If it doesn't charge, the courier will arrive, pick it up, after two days either return it, or bring a new one or give the money.
Tiziana
GriNataBecause Rumba is an AyRobot, and Braava is some kind of Mint. Actually, I want to say, horror. I thought that in 2 years they were able to eliminate all defects. And Braava, as it was 2 years ago, is buggy, and now it remains so.
GriNata
Tiziana, I disagree, Braava is also Irobot, it was just confirmed to me in the IRobot service center and I bought it from an authorized IRobot dealer.
But the hobot is not.

And my rumba works flawlessly, albeit an old model. Braava only worked for 1 month and has not started charging now. And I was already so used to it, I started it every day. How will I do without it now while the problems with the service are resolved? The developers still did not finalize Braavu, I hope they will fix these problems with the next firmware.
Tiziana, Braava is also now Ayrobot, they just bought it from Mint. And since now it is their brainchild, it means that they must modify it.

So when will they finalize something? I have Braava for 3 years now, the warranty has long since expired. And just as it was not clear what, so now it remains unclear what.
ludmila_27.79
Tiziana, have you called Ayrobot in Europe?
Tiziana
ludmila_27.79, No, she didn't. And the point is to call if the warranty has already ended.
ludmila_27.79
Maybe they can help with something, reflash for example.
Tiziana
ludmila_27.79Maybe, but I don't want to pay money for a dubious outcome.
I have already sent the robot to the service, even under warranty. The problems have not diminished, even increased.
GriNata
Braava will be returned today after diagnostics.
It is absolutely serviceable, the problem was in the fastening of the protective tape of the battery, when pulled out, part of it remained inside.
I hope he won't throw any more "tricks with his ears"
Medtech
GriNataDo you have Braava for sure?
Rumba has a battery safety tape, a braava or has never seen a mint before, can you please tell me where you pulled it from? After all, robots usually come to me without a tape and have worked enough.
TizianaUnfortunately, not all services work for a result, according to the test results the robot works, they cannot offer more, the conditions during the tests are very different from reality and All tests work - the robot is working properly, goodbye.
You should have made a video with the moments when the robot malfunctions appear, usually this helps a lot to show and prove the malfunction, and perhaps there are simple and uncomplicated solutions to eliminate these problems.

Thank you, Seryozha. I already waved my hand at her. It's not enough for me anyway. At one time, she cannot clean the entire apartment, but break the cleaning into 2 stages with an intermediate charge of 2-2.5 hours, so it will take the whole day to clean. It's easier to wave the rag itself.

Medtech, Sergey, I have 100% Braava IRobot))))

Don't do that. It was already a shame for your animal. Just that your Aerobot, having bought up the company for all the years, you can say he didn’t hit his finger in order to improve something. Well, apart from Jet. But there is little reliable information on him.

The ribbon is located behind the robot (on the bottom), in the form of a red ribbon with a silver chain on which the label is worn.
I also had Braava's red tag, but it is very easy to pull out. They put it on, probably to ensure that Braava is new and has not been used.
Medtech
GriNataThank you, this means they open the pressure sensor on the case, this only guarantees that the robot cannot be used until the tape is removed, but you should try to experiment to preserve the robot with charged batteries. But lithium like Minta do not plant.
GriNata
In general, after the service center, it did not become easier for my floor polisher - on charging: the base is either simply directly plugged in the wire - when the battery is completely discharged, it blinks red for about an hour, then blinks blue every 5 seconds, which goes against the description of charging in the instructions. The time of crawling on the floor in wet cleaning mode is 40 minutes, instead of the declared 2 hours. Discharges completely and turns off. The store will exchange for a new one today (even though there are decent and decent people here, many thanks to them !!!!).
Sergei,Medtech, today I can take a photo of the unboxing of the new brava.
Medtech
GriNataThank you, I have a rich technical imagination, I have already speculated. Even with a protective tape, the robot turns on, only it cannot work.
ludmila_27.79
They finally sent me a charger after all the adventures. I bought Braava on eBay in Germany. So I corresponded with them, about the fact that my Braava stopped charging. I asked them to send me a new charger so they messed things up and sent me a turbo charger! I called Ayrobot in Spain and they told me that the charger was faulty and they sent me a new one. Naturally, the seller from Ebay paid me the cost of the charger.
I tried to charge Braavu with a new charger and it was charged. So, really, the problem was a faulty charging.
GriNata
Ludmila, it's good that everything ends well)) They sent me a new one, I'm happy as a boa constrictor, and what I did before without it
ksyusha1997
Can you please tell me who has Braavu, I'm dreaming about her, but all in doubt. There is a laminate on the floor, home, except me, walk without slippers, there are eternal traces of peasant feet, especially from filial teenage feet. Will Braava handle this? And does it leave streaks on the laminate, this is my quirk about stains and marks ... So the floor is always clean, Rumba helps me with this, but These marks !!!
Medtech
ksyusha1997Minta also rented a woman from me, she was just interested in the marks from her bare feet, she left the robot with her, a year later she also sent a buyer.
But it is worth remembering that this is wet cleaning, under some supervision or in the near presence, after the end of cleaning, the robot stands with a damp cloth on the floor, you should not leave it for a long time in this form, or it will fade out or the coating will get wet.
ksyusha1997
Thank you, Sergey! My quirk about the laminate will not fade with me!
sazalexter
ksyusha1997, Read reviews 🔗 🔗 🔗 not everything is so simple. PS The price bites, maybe slippers
GriNata
I have been using Brava for a week, and it wipes off these very marks from the dark laminate with a bang. Works quietly - I run to wash the kitchen at night or early in the morning. I wiped off the remains of the cat food that had dried up during the day - the cat did not eat on a plate during the day. Before starting, pour liquid and additionally urine a napkin.
ludmila_27.79
ksyusha1997, marks on the laminate Braava washes away. Only after a while new tracks appear again, even if you walk in slippers, even without. I think it depends on the laminate flooring. I have an expensive laminate and also often all in traces and stains, and my sister has a cheap one, it looks perfect, no traces. But Braava helps a lot anyway. I run it every day and cleanly, because there is certainly no desire to run with a mop every day.
And as rightly said Medtech, Ksyusha try to rent a Braava and then decide whether you need it or not.
ksyusha1997
sazalexter, GriNata, ludmila_27.79, thanks to everyone who responded to my question!
Brown-eyed
Medtech, and knowledgeable people, I came across such a model iRobot Braava Jet 240, I can not understand this new product? or vice versa, maybe you know something about him?
Belka13
Brown-eyed, I also paid attention to this model. So far I have only understood that it sprays water, therefore it is recommended for the bathroom and kitchen. And the price is lower than the Braava. Let's wait for the answer of knowledgeable people.
Brown-eyed
So I also read that for dry, wet and semi-wet cleaning, and I looked at the video principle of the work, but I didn't understand for myself whether he was better brave or how, was it a little confused by the replaceable rags, are they disposable or what? if you can take it off the bravva, wash it and go again, then it is not clear how.
ludmila_27.79
Brown-eyed, Belka13, Braava Jet has both disposable and reusable wipes. Read on this site, it is written in great detail about this model: 🔗]
Belka13
Ludmila, I am wondering why the price is lower.
ksyusha1997
I am also studying this new model, I wanted to buy Braavu, but then this model caught my eye, now I slowed down with the purchase, I study all the pros and cons. I can't understand the quality of the sink, the principle is different on the previous model, you put a wet rag, but only dry on the Jet, according to the color of the rag, he chooses the mode and amount of water himself and sprinkles the water himself. What's the best principle? Who knows? It is necessary to have one, and one to compare, I just need to remove the footprints from the laminate, well, the price would also be lower. And the fundamental difference between them, the Jet is designed for an area of 25m dry clean, 20 wet. that is, it is for the whole apartment, if anyone needs it, it will not pull, it must be charged again.Maybe someone will appear the owner of this robot and tell us everything?

Added Thursday, January 26, 2017 5:27 PM

Brown-eyed
and I would still understand which of them is smarter in terms of work? Well, maybe someone else is quieter?
ludmila_27.79
Brown-eyed, Braava is generally silent. And as I wrote correctly ksyusha1997 Braava on one charge removes a much larger area than Jet. Braava cleans 90 sq. m in dry mode and 32 in wet mode. To clean the whole apartment 100 kV. m in wet mode, you need 1 more charge. It is also written about Jet that it is only suitable for moisture-resistant laminate, it sprinkles water itself, and at Braava you yourself, as you wet a rag, will wash, that is, more delicately. The only inconvenience is that if the room is too big, then you need to stop Braava and wet the rag again, but she will again continue from the same place where she left. They write about Jet's navigation that it has a built-in virtual wall and it perfectly bypasses all obstacles. I don’t know how good it is in practice, you really need to ask its owner about it.
Anna67
ksyusha1997, while I was choosing it for a thousand it has risen in price. I bought a used mint, because the dimensions of the jet, although smaller, are not so much so that it becomes a decisive factor, it will still not fit between the wall and the toilet.

I did not find real reviews then, reviews from intelligent people, and even more so from those who could compare both models even more so.
From the pictures I realized that which cleaning mode to start is guided rather not by the color of the rag, but by how the holes on the mount are knocked out (it looked like it looked like a punched card). Since I didn't feel it alive, I suppose that the lower price is due to the fact that the calculation was made for the purchase of consumables, which are apparently not as easy to replace with homemade napkins as in brava ...
Worse or better spraying, I suppose, depends on the type of coating, which is why such an emphasis is placed on its moisture resistance in the recommendations for the jet. Square? Well, yes, less, but also designed for the kitchen / bathroom.
Algorithm. I'm not going to lie, but it seems that the possibility of control from a smartphone was declared, and in this smartphone it is allegedly possible to start the device in the spot cleaning mode. And not like a brava strip or a tree. Theoretically, it looks promising, but how it turns out in practice - I would like to listen to the real owners. Well, time will tell. The device is cool.
