Duck stewed with turnips

Ingredients

duck 1 pc
turnips 4 pcs
onion (white) 2pcs
bay leaf salt, black pepper

Cooking method

  • First about turnips :)
  • The well-known expression “simpler than a steamed turnip” did not appear in folklore by accident. It was turnip that was one of the most common dishes in Russia, then it was a staple food and was cheap. Unfortunately, now this root vegetable appears on our tables less and less.
  • Poultry dishes, in particular, duck, also take a special place in Russian cuisine.
  • And today we will cook Duck with turnips - they go well together!
  • Many consider the duck to be a fat bird. In fact, duck meat is quite lean and fat is easily removed during processing.
  • Cut the duck into portions. I bought separately the chicken legs and fillets.
  • Turn on the multicooker, set the "fry / meat" mode for 20 minutes.
  • Cut the turnip and onion into 4 pieces.
  • Cut off excess fat from meat and melt a small amount, about 5 min.
  • Add vegetables and fry with the lid open min.10
  • Duck stewed with turnips
  • We put vegetables on a plate. Fry the duck in the same oil until golden brown.
  • Duck stewed with turnips
  • Season the meat with salt and pepper, add spices.
  • Put onions, turnips on the meat and pour in 100 ml of hot water.
  • Duck stewed with turnips
  • We set the mode "stewing / meat" 2 hours
  • And a delicious hearty dish is ready !!!

Gulsine, and how does the turnip taste? I tried it like a turnip, I didn't really like it. And now it is often sold in Auchan. The fact that the duck is delicious, even from the photo, is beyond doubt.
