Note

Falafel are miracle balls that have recently become a fashionable culinary trend. Falafel has become widespread in the Middle East: there chickpeas - the main ingredient of the national cuisine - have been cooked in every family for centuries. In Israel, falafel is also a separate type of fast food: it is “produced” at every turn and is very tasty served in pita with sesame (tahina) sauce, and sometimes with yogurt-based sauce.
Falafel is especially popular among vegetarians and vegans, because chickpeas are an excellent source of protein, and dishes made from it satisfy hunger for a long time. In addition, the peas in this dish become even more satisfying and more nutritious, since they are cooked in a large amount of oil. Meat eaters are also supportive of him, and many even admit that the flavor of falafel reminds them very much of cutlet flavor, but only more tender.
Of course deep-fried is not good, but sometimes you can "poison" yourself with such food.
Spices can be anything you like. But coriander, pepper, cumin, cumin are considered traditional.
There are many variations of this dish on the Internet. We have HERE one of...

please
How colorful, beautiful, Angela, but you can't replace chickpeas with peas?
ang-kay
Nadyush, these are also peas. But I don’t know if ours will succeed. Although I myself thought about this issue. And what prevents us from conducting an experiment?
please

And what prevents us from conducting an experiment?
Yes, because chickpea is not on sale now, but not only it)
ang-kay
So I'm talking about ordinary peas and I'm talking about. What prevents you from experimenting with it?

Angela, I really like your falafels! So delicious! That I want to run after chickpeas.
Anna1957
And if you try to fry them in a takoyachnitsa - then there will be a dietary option. I'm going to try everything, but my hands do not reach.

Angela, well, just a miracle balls !!! Sunny-spring!

The photos are wonderful - your camera is clearly in a spring mood! Colors play right!

Listen, what kind of green tea did you put inside? And can you feel its taste in the finished product?

Regarding deep-frying, there is still an opinion that if the oil is heated to a sufficient temperature, then it will fry the crust of the product, and not saturate the entire inside, so the calorie content is slightly, but not much, higher than the fried dish ... I see logic and I am inclined believe, but still avoid.

But for the sake of such wonderful balls I will arrange deep fat!

Thank you!
Trishka
Angelchik, as always beautiful, colorful and appetizing!
Masinen
ang-kay, Angel, thanks for the lean dish! I took it away!

So that's how it happened. Only the crust. There is no oil inside at all. Not greasy.

ang-kay
Anna, honestly, I don’t go to the forum! I don't even know what and where? If I need something specific, then I drive it into the search engine and look. That's what I am.

Only it is made from raw chickpeas - smar it, do not mix it up
ang-kay
Yes there is in the net and with boiled potatoes. I saw it.
Anna1957
I tried raw and boiled cutlets. It tastes better from raw. But it turns out from both.

That's great.

By the way, I was very afraid to do them. In my last "approach" to this recipe, I soaked the chickpeas, boiled it the next day and ... pushed myself to read the recipe. deep-fried falafel.

And so many - part for soup, part for flat cakes with salad, tomatoes and yogurt dressing. I'll try to freeze a few pieces. If they behave well after freezing, I will rejoice. You can do a lot at once and defrost as needed.

By the way, I am thinking about purchasing a falafel molder. Under the spoiler, the picture looks like

ang-kay
After defrosting, it will not only crunch. But everything is fine, I think.

Angela, wonderful dish, bookmarked, thanks! We must try to cook, but we have been without oil for a week, and when our eyes run up with oil from the abundance of delicious dishes, it's even difficult to choose.
ang-kay
Marina, you are straight, like monks. For laymen, with butter is possible except Wednesday, Monday and Friday.
Marika33
Angela, for us, if with oil, then it is no longer Fasting. We are used to it and really like it. Already half flew by
