Rice porridge with coconut flakes in a milk cooker

Ingredients

rice 0.5 mst
water 2 mst
coconut flakes 40 gr.
orange or lemon zest optional
salt and sugar taste

Cooking method

  • So I cooked:
  • rice - 0.5 mst
  • water - 2 mst
  • coconut flakes - 40 gr (there was so much in the package)
  • dried orange peel - a pinch (optional)
  • salt and sugar to taste.
  • All this was loaded into a milk cooker, mixed and cooked until rice is cooked. Then she let it brew for 20-30 minutes.
  • The porridge has an exotic taste, pleasant coconut aroma. You can not add oil to porridge, it is enough in coconut flakes. Adjust the porridge liquid at your discretion.
  • This porridge is suitable for those who have a cow's milk intolerance.
  • And here is the original recipe, but I didn’t dare, or rather, it’s just not ripe, but it is worthy of attention.
  • rice - 1 tbsp
  • water - 2 tbsp
  • coconut flakes - 200 gr
  • vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. l
  • grated lemon zest - 1 tsp
  • grated ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • ground black pepper
  • and salt to taste.
  • Fry the rice in vegetable oil until transparent, pour in boiling water, bring the rice to a boil, add coconut flakes and zest, boil in a pan for 10-12 minutes, season with ginger and cinnamon, close the lid and cook for another 15 minutes over low heat.
  • This porridge with the same success can be cooked in any multicooker and even there were no attempts to escape.

Svetik, I confirm - it's incredibly tasty! I have another option in the cartoon.

Coconut rice in a slow cooker (Tumanchik)

Tumanchik, also an interesting option, but you have cream, which is not a topic for fasting now. My version is suitable for those who cannot stand cow's milk.
I will definitely try your version. Cream is waiting in the fridge.

Sveta, I understand this! And the devices are different. Great option! Especially roasting! It will be very tasty. I absolutely love the aroma of rice with coconut!

I love it too. Cook according to my version with the zest of an orange or lemon, finally it tastes exotic.
I used orange peel, it seems to me softer, and lemon peel is more aggressive. Although, if you cook such a porridge with ginger and pepper, then the lemon will be more appropriate.

vernisag, Ira, I'm stunned. First, I cooked this porridge in a milk cooker, the recipe and put it on the milk-cooking theme.
Then I cooked Binaton 2116 in a multicooker, by the way, I cooked it in the heating mode, then let it brew on heating. I keep all the porridge heated. There was no escape.
What cartoon did you cook in?

I cooked in a small film, milk porridge on the program It frothed sooo well and I decided that next time I would add shavings after the time jumped out on the display (before that, the snake was running, it was boiling). Then I think everything will be fine.

Hello, did you use ready-made shavings? And if raw coconut is grated? What proportions then? Or do you need to dry it?
We constantly make homemade bounty, drink some water or just gnaw the flesh, it's already delicious. I also make milk, so far with varying success, and, accordingly, there is little experience in application and options. Thank you!

Laniko, Larissa, why is raw coconut worse than dried? I think raw is even better. And coconut water is a very good substitute for tap water.
yucca
Oh, it must be delicious !! Need to try )))
mamusi
Wildebeest, I take Sveta into bookmarks, so as not to lose and rummage, not to search! : rose: Porridge then walks through the open spaces .... so to speak, through the open spaces, through the open spaces ... And that she is yours - I did not know!
Wildebeest
mamusi, Rita, won't you try it like the original with ginger and pepper? Something I cannot decide with.

Wildebeest, I don't know, maybe you need to add less more, the taste is different? little experience with any coconuts, so I ask. and here is such an interesting recipe, and simple.
Wildebeest
Laniko, Larissa, the idea is - is, create proportions for yourself. Dream and experiment. Like it, you will cook. If you don't like it, you will forget it like a bad dream. Are you going to cook with ginger and pepper?
mamusi
Sveta, Sveta, I will cook "your version" with orange zest ... but in milk - I don't know how to make friends ... I'll just put the zest at the end ...

... I can't imagine this porridge with pepper and other spices, and so far, like you, I'm not ready to cook! And my husband will not eat like that, he is very conservative in food.
And with seasonings - I'm always careful - he doesn't like anything except salt and black pepper. I LOVE all sorts of spices ... and ginger, and cinnamon, and I VERY love curry in vegetables and meat ...

Laniko
Wildebeest, as for me there is not enough milk or cream. it turned out a little dry, and the shavings were very felt ... the zest added exotic-taste and excellent aroma, I cooked in a slow cooker. I expected better, I think for my multi I need more liquid to make it softer and more uniform. ginger with pepper I wonder if I dare to experiment, then I will unsubscribe., maybe we only have a candy wrapper for spices.))
mamusi
Now we ate porridge ... What can I say - I liked it and VERY! No photo. The reason is this - I ran and tried it when she was ready - wonderful moisture and juiciness - but decided to wait for my son and eat together - left it on the heating longer - it was not worth it! Has dried up a little, has become like a casserole! The taste is not affected! Appearance - yes! I didn't take a picture! Next!
As I did - with LEMON zest, I still put in some cinnamon (it turned out to be very useful!) By the way ...
Vanilla, sugar 2 tablespoons ... And this time I cooked in water, as in your recipe. Yes ... and I ground the shavings in the mill - it turned out interesting! Despite the complete lack of milk - the color of the porridge was CREAMY! The fragrance is divine! The cinnamon is good there! Thank you!
Wildebeest
Laniko, Larissa, I like porridge, not thick, but not liquid either. Oh, how capricious I am. Add more liquid next time. I'm glad I liked the porridge.
mamusi, Rita, I haven't thought about cinnamon and vanilla, but I will definitely try.
That's why I love the Khlebopechkin members of the forum, they will bring any basic recipe to perfection.
