Onion (lean pie)

Ingredients

Flour 4.5 cups / 675 g
Dry yeast 1pack / 11g
Potato starch 1 st. spoon / 30g
Vegetable oil 0.5 / glass / 85g
Warm water 1.5 cups / 300g
sugar 2 tbsp. spoons / 50 g
salt 1 tsp / 10 g
Filling
Peeled onions 1 kg
greens / I have dill 50 g
salt taste
ground pepper taste
vegetable oil for frying

Cooking method

  • I have never been a cake-maker, so in order to avoid "lack of sleep or overspill" of ingredients, I translated everything into grams)) In the original, everything is in glasses. I took a faceted glass as a basis, full.
  • Pour warm water into a bowl, add sugar, salt, yeast there. Stir and after two minutes pour in vegetable oil, add starch, sifted flour. Substitute the dough and leave for half an hour for the dough to come up.
  • Cut the onions into half or quarter rings, add finely chopped dill and fry over medium heat until golden brown in vegetable oil. Salt and pepper is a must.
  • Grease the form with vegetable oil, divide the dough into 6 parts. One part should be larger than the rest. Roll out a large piece of dough thinly and place in a mold so that the edges hang down. Put 1/4 of the fried onion evenly on the bottom, cover with a thinly rolled layer of dough, then onion and dough again, and the result should be 4 layers of onion, close the top with dough. Pinch the edges, decorate with the rest of the dough, grease the surface of the cake with a thin layer of vegetable oil and bake the cake for 30 minutes in an oven preheated to 190 degrees.
  • Cover the finished cake with a towel and let it cool. The pie is very tasty, you can use any filling.

Every year for memorial holidays I bake a pie with fish filling from this dough, everyone really likes it.
