Pearl barley porridge with corn

Ingredients

Pearl barley 1 tbsp.
Any meat broth (+ meat) * 1 liter.
(I have pork ribs)
Onions (medium) 2-3 pcs.
Carrots (large) 1 PC.
Sweet red pepper (small) 1 PC.
Tomatoes (small) 2-3 pcs.
Canned corn 1 can

Cooking method

  • Soak the pearl barley in cold water overnight. Drain the water in the morning. Bring broth to a boil, add barley. Cook until tender, adding water if necessary. My cereal was ready in 30 minutes. To save time, this process can be entrusted to a pressure cooker.
  • Fry the onion until golden brown, add the grated carrots and diced pepper, simmer until soft. Remove the skin from the tomatoes, cut into cubes, add to the frying. Add frying, meat and corn from a jar directly with liquid to the finished barley, mix. Salt and pepper if necessary. Put out another 5 minutes, turn off the fire. Leave to infuse under the lid for another 10-15 minutes

Note

* Broth can be used for both beef and chicken. For the lean version, replace with water
