Fish meatballs with vegetable gravy (lean)

Ingredients

fish (I have a hake) 750 grams
tomato juice (fruit drink) 0.5 liter
medium carrots 1 piece
turnip onion large 2 pieces
small squash 1 piece
salt taste
ground black pepper taste
sugar taste
Bay leaf 1 piece
sweet peas 3-4 pieces
vegetable oil 1-2 tbsp. spoons
any greens option
garlic 2-4 teeth
rice ready 200 grams
semolina 2-3 st. spoons

Cooking method

  • Free the fish from bones and fins.
  • Pass through a meat grinder with an onion and two cloves of garlic.
  • Boil rice (about 100 grams) until half cooked. Refrigerate.
  • Mix with minced meat. Season with salt and pepper. Add semolina and stir.
  • Form meatballs with wet hands.
  • Chop the onion in any shape.
  • Grate the carrots and zucchini on a coarse grater (I rubbed with Berner with small straws).

  • Add carrots and zucchini. Put out until soft. Add tomato juice. Season with salt and pepper. Add sugar if desired (I added about a tablespoon). Boil. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes.

  • Place the meatballs and pour over the remaining gravy.
  • Put bay leaf, allspice and chop a couple of garlic cloves. You can add any of your favorite spices.

  • Take out, sprinkle with herbs.
  • Serve hot or cold.
